His wife broke his walls down and sent him to therapy to learn about emotions. Happened to me too. Best thing that's ever happened to me

read "Under Saturn's Shadow." Great book for men. Or "The Middle Passage" if you're anywhere between 30-60 years old. If you got a lot from therapy you'll definitely get a ton out of those two books.

Show men the way, Kumail and Emily ✨ The way he talks about her is so nice and healing to hear because it sounds genuine. People who are really in love are each other’s best friends (or are at least one of their best friends).

This also made me think of all the men my friends and I have hoped will step up and be more open, gracious and cooperative but then had to give up on them for our own sanity. Sometimes the patience is worth it, but it’s so hard to not feel like a pathetic idiot when you’re waiting for your partner to finally become fully emotionally available. Most of us just end up feeling like we wasted our time and never have any literal fucks left to give men who aren’t already emotionally available.

And KNOWing it is WORK to stay as invested in the relationship. I was blessed to marry my best friend but we both Acknowledge the arduous work + pleasure in STILL being into each other. Love + partnerships are always beautiful messes! ❤
