I appreciate this video. I had the fast blinking on dash come on but go away then come back several months later, multiple times. I didn’t know both rear lights flashed I taught only top ones flashed and both lights only turned on for braking. Now I know that it’s a bulb. Thanks
I took the whole assembly, removed the bulbs, filled it with water and check to see where it was leaking filled it in with some silicone and it hasn't gotten condensation yet after 2 years.
My 2019 F-150, I had the "fast signal" inside light and yet both turn signals (only one on front, amber color, and one on back) still worked regular...changed them both with recommended bulbs and STILL fast blinker signal inside! Crappers!
If you are sure you do not have any bulbs out, then your BCM is bad. The flashing circuit is in the BCM. When the BCM senses a bulb out it fast flashes the turn signals. If they are fast flashing and the bulbs are all good then the BCM is messed up internally.
That’s every vehicles way of saying a bulb is out. It also can mean that you are using a low voltage bulb (led), not “the wrong bulb” without the proper flasher.
Actually, you are incorrect. Cars that use mechanical flashers operate based on a certain amount of current flowing through the flasher and heating them up and they open causing the lights to go out then when they cool they reset and the lights come back on. On those vehicles, if a bulb goes out there's not as much current going through the flasher so it takes longer for it to heat up and open so the blinking gets longer. Also on those same vehicles, people would add a trailer and now the current goes up because of the added lights causing the flasher to heat up and open sooner and blink faster. Most modern cars do not use mechanical flashers anymore and many people do not know this.

Mine did the same thing. Changed all bulbs with no joy. Dealer had to reprogram the BCM leaving out the turn signal monitor software. All good now.
Thank you, sir. I was stumped until you showed we have two rear bulbs.

Thank you for your help.. I think you solved my problem, excellent tutorial and no blah blah loud mouth stuff ;-)
Very helpful. Many thanks from Canada.
Excellent example, great insights, and a nice explanation of how the computer is sensing the current draw.
Excellent tutorial, what is the spray called, have same problem

A cheap and quick temporary fix for the condensation issue is to drill a small hole in bottom of light housing to allow the water to drain back out.
Yes I have done that before.
I took the whole assembly, removed the bulbs, filled it with water and check to see where it was leaking filled it in with some silicone and it hasn't gotten condensation yet after 2 years.
Thank you for posting, It was the perfect solution
Didnt know there was an upper and lower bulb. Thanks
Thank you. Mission accomplished.
Good info: I do have the same problem on my F150 work truck
The bulbs can still be bad even if they light up with the running lights the break and blinker won't work but installing new ones fixed my problem
My son has the same problem , same truck and I think the same bulb. I’ve been trying to get him to fix it for a year.
Awesome! Thanks for the info
had the same problem..lower turn bulb..bad connection..good bulb..just needed reseating..easy fix
Big help, thank you very much!😊
Thanks. This is the same problem I had with a 2014 King Ranch. I don't see water inside, so maybe I won't have the corrosion problem.
What if your fuses are good bulbs are good and the turn signal and brake light still does not on the rear
Let me see if I have bulbs damaged

My night light wont go on through trailer plug, although brakes and tirn signal works fine.
Thanks
thank you
Good man.

on my truck bulbs all fine but blinking fast on right side, when on emergency all blinkers are working correclty
So is it a bulb or something else? I have same issue as you: bulb works for brake but not turn signal or four way blinkers
2012 takes a 4057 bulb not a 3057. 🤔
3057 and 4057 are interchangable.
This is basic knowledge. I have a constant red and a fast flash. All bulbs are factory correct.
Thanks
thank you.
