B2 - Eb5, I can definitely go lower or higher but it starts to sound a bit scratchy. Definitely most clean there.
Tenor :)
@@throgabut Eb5 is chest voice or mixed voice or what?
@@kimberlyKDA if your forcing the sound to create the Eb5 it may be in chest (belt) but that is typically a range of notes where a mix should take place (and several notes before)
@@throga then if I can't sing Eb5 with chest voice, am I not a tenor???
@@kimberlyKDA a voice type is not defined by being only in one register. A soprano, for example, may use their head voice and/or falsetto. A tenor usually uses mostly chest voice and then mixes (passaggio) a degree of their higher notes into head voice

The lower the number, the lower the note, so it would start from E3 and go up to A4. This would put you in the lower range of an Alto. Have a great day :)
@@throga thank you very much sir☺️
Hi! You're right between a Tenor and Alto range.
@@throga I find that kinda cool actually thanks👍🏽
Love the videos! How accurate are phone tuners/pitch finders? I've got a pretty low speaking voice but nothing crazy, and these apps are saying I'm hitting D2 and sometimes lower in chest voice (even lower with subharmonics) but I really don't feel like im hitting notes that low. I also have zero natural pitch ability so maybe my inability to identify notes is getting in the way. Not a trained singer at all, was just curious if I was a baritone or bass and started messing around a bit
Bass technically starts at E2, so you likely fall in that category. However, vocal training can definitely assist in improving your pitch control so you become more aware of your range and possibilities as a singer!
@@throga Great to know, thank you!
My range is D3-E6, what part would I be?
D2-D5
Technically, those notes qualify for bass, baritone, and tenor. However given the wide range of options, there’s a good chance that baritone might be the best description as you are likely to have the best tonal options and control in that range.
D3 and c3 is the Lowe I can sing
Im a Tenor im pretty sure but not a really high one at the moment at least
So you would be a second tenor.
D2-C6
That’s a whole lot of notes (and choices) to work with. If you spend time cultivating transitions between registers and sing on a variety of volumes throughout that range - you can sing whatever you want :)
Hello I'm a 15 year old boy nad I have a vocal range of D2# to E5 what type of voice do I have? I'm currently in the choir and I'm a tenor there but I think I could function as a bass too.
At 15, your voice is still developing. So even though you have a wide range of notes to play with, you are definitely not bound by any one category. I suggest you continue to explore and develop all of your registers and learn from as many parts of the choir as you can!
I'm F#3 to C#6 but I'm a male soprano (sopranista) But I sometimes do countertenor too.
Bass, which is cool but kinda wish it was a little higher haha
There’s no right or wrong type when it comes to voice. However, higher notes can be developed even as a bass :)

Bb2 to A4 in pure chest, not sure why I always thought I was a baritone, recently learned to mix and now it's Bb2 to E5 without flipping to head. In fact I think I can vocalize higher in my mix then my head voice most of time (I need to really work on my head voice 😂)
I'm a tenor right? Lol
Yes! You are a tenor :) Prior to coordinating your mix/passaggio, you sat right between baritone and tenor.
« Just adapt the song to YOUR instrument » basically that’s just it. Even in the lyrical singing field, rules weren’t always as rigid. There are old recordings of (some) Leggero Tenors singing Spinto or Dramatic Tenor airs. Pre-romantic operas are even less strict so obsession over fach sometimes isn’t even important.
However, I think basic voice types should still be identified. As much as a spectrum the voice is, male voice and female voice are distinct and so are Baritones and Tenors, Mezzo and Soprano, &c…. We all have sort of the same passaggio but even with extensive training we’re naturally more tuned for a particular range than another.
E2 to F5 what am I?
Hi I am 28 year old male Indian classical singer and I have a range from E2- G#4 in head voice with effort, what voice type am I?
Hello - you fall into the "bass" category :)
Hi in good days i can go D2 is my lowest and G#4 If i support and that is my highest
That covers bass and baritone. Sounds like you might be able to learn in either direction if you spend quality time developing your skills to create reliable and consistent results on those notes at multiple volumes and formants :)
@@throga Thank you so muchhhh!

Tenor or Baritone :) Depends on how many choices (and ease) you have throughout the range in terms of volume and tonal inflection.
@@throga ohh ok thanks
Lowest I can go is G1, highest is A4. What is my type of voice?
Bass or Baritone depending on how comfortable and responsive your voice is in the higher octave.

Highest note: C5
Tenor sits very comfortably in the center of that range of notes :)
My lowest note is a B2 and highest is a D3😁

Alot Of People Thinks That I'm A Low Baritone
My Vocal Range Is D2 - C4 - C#6 But if i place my larynx high i can hit G#4, with falsetto i can hit C#6
what voice type am i?
It sounds like you have a ton of notes to play with. But you may have a natural resonance as a Bass. Possibly a Baritone, but it depends on how comfortable and responsive your voice is between the C4 and A4. Intentionally placing your larynx high will actually restrict the sound and projection of the voice, so I would recommend working on your passaggio (transition between Chest and head voice) so that you have more choices when singing :)
@@throga Thanks for the reply, will definitly work on my passagio since my voice will naturally switch to falsetto after hitting G4
When did Doug Walker become a vocal coach?
My lowest is A2, my highest is E4, no training at all, just doing this for fun lmao
But i strain in B4 Really My Voice range are G4 Only.
I've always been a little confused about my voice.
A few people I've asked say my speaking voice is around a 3.5 on a 1-10 scale of pitch.
I can go from a D2 to a F#5 (on a good day lol), but I hover around the third octave mostly, and rely on heady mix past around F4. I'm assuming this is *technically* baritone but I've never asked someone who knows what they're talking about before lol
my lowest F2 and my highest is D6 what vocal type am I?
That's a whole lot of notes! For this access of range, it really depends on where your voice resonates the best along with the ability to sing multiple volumes and vowels. Potentially, you can fall into the categories of Baritone, Tenor, and/or Countertenor.

It’s hard to tell off of a description. Use an operatic voice teacher to help you with that.
E2-C5 C6 head voice feel like using mix starting at E4 and heady mix at B4
There are a LOT of possibilities with this range and where your passaggio (mix) lies. Technically, you can vocalize on Bass, Baritone, AND Tenor. So it really depends on how coordinated your mix voice is as you transition into the tenor notes (top end of Baritone). Based on the numbers, I would say Baritone would be a safe bet to be categorized in, however, Tenor is a possibility as well - The Bass would be the hardest to develop here because the bottom 2 or 3 notes would need a lot of projection and play with vowel formations in addition to just singing the note.

@@throga thanks a lot!
My voice range is G2 to a C5 what could my be as a 15 year old?
D2 - D#5 and maybe E5 on head.
Technically, those notes cover Bass, Baritone, AND Tenor! However, it's all about which range of notes you are able to create a consistent quality of tone at multiple volumes and on multiple formants. So most likely, Baritone is where you would fall, but hard to say without hearing a full demonstration.
My lowest notes is e2 and my highest is somewhere between a4 and b4 (without falsetto) and e5, (very close to f5 if I really push) I am pretty sure I’m a tenor but is there any chance I’m a tenorino?
Your range reflects that of a baritone, but all relative to your coordination in the passaggio. If you’re able to sing multiple vowels from quiet to loud (with relative ease and no vocal breaks) then tenor and tenorino would be a better description for that range :)
@@throga Oh it turns out I can actually get up to g5 with falsetto and I can probably do more without falsetto. I figured out I was singing the wrong way the entire time, coupled with I have to be quiet so I don’t disturb my family lol.

I'm a male if that helps with anything, i just wanted to know because i want to dedicate myself to singing opera, but am struggling to find my part and what to sing
my range goes from F2 to A#5 what kind of voice type i have?
Hello! This range overlaps both baritone and tenor. If you have an ease of transitions between chest and head voice (minimal vocal cracks/breaks) at various volumes, then you are more likely to be a tenor.
@@throga when i go to my low notes (E3-F2) i sound unstable, i can even reach the E2 but sounds interrupted, to the high, my chest voice get cracked at A#4 if im going fast from low to high, but i reached C5 with some stability when im going slow or directly to the note

Edit 2: i tried again doing slowly the low to high and i reached Bb4 with no problems, im so confused xD
@@makron5963 It sounds like there is an inefficient use of air pressure and coordination of the vocal folds - both of which can be resolved through proper vocalizing (vocal exercises). It's just a matter of building skill :) Once that is further developed, you will have a wonderful range of notes to play with when expressing your instrument (regardless of vocal type).
@@throga i understand, thanks!

Technically, that range of notes works for both Baritone and Tenor. However, Baritone starts on G2, and you would need to have a decent amount of control and fluidity in your expression (which can be developed over time) , so tenor would be a better fit if you had to label yourself:)

Can someone help me figure out my vocal type. My voice fluctuates a lot and there are some days where I can go extremely low and I can comfortably sing from A1-E4. But if I start singing pop songs for a bit and I warm up properly then I lose most of my low notes and my comfortable range becomes G2-Bb4. I can go lower then the notes mentioned above using techniques like subharmonics/Chest Fry, and I can go higher as well if I use head voice and falsetto.
From your description (the detail in which you gave is great!), you would most likely be labeled as a Baritone. However, it sounds like Bass may be an option for you as well depending on the piece at hand - but this will take some training because you would need consistent access to just a handful of notes below the G2 (in volume, tone, and vowel formation)
@@throga thanks for the insight! It feels so weird since some times I feel like I can access the 4th octave easily and then other times I feel like the 2nd octave is a breeze. But never both at the same time. Although I usually have to warm up a lot more for the high notes then the low ones. I am currently taking vocal lessons, but since my teacher is a lady she’s more interested in getting me more comfortable with my high notes then the low ones
@@-N-A- Many coaches often fixate on higher notes because that tends to be the "sk" of the student and the general desire of singers learning to coordinate their instruments. However, low notes are just as valuable because, without them, the high notes would have no relevance.
I'm most comfortable with C4 & b2 &c5 🤔 wich is that range
That sits right in the middle of a mezzo-soprano. Keep working on developing your range (low and high) to take full advantage to this vocal type :)
@@throga thank you, I'll 😃😃 and thank you for telling . I'll practice and practice
My lowest note is F3 and highest us B4 what is my voice type?
These notes are within the range of Alto/Contralto. With a little dedication, you can expand some of the higher notes, allowing you to fill the full Alto range. But as mentioned in the video, unless you are in need of being categorized for a choir or musical etc, the range of notes you sing with can be unique to YOU and it's ok if it doesn't match a predetermined expectation :)
Thankyou for answering my question .
A2-b4 in chest ,light sound but like i cant reach c5lmao
You're RIGHT in the space between Baritone and Tenor. Likely, with a little practice, the tenor range will be a better fit for your voice with a smooth passaggio (mix) going into the top octave.
@@throga thanksss😀
My lowest note is A2 highest F6
My music teacher said I'm a soprano but I can sing very low notes too, what could be my voice type?
Just having access to really high notes does not make you a soprano, just like access to an A2 doesn’t automatically make you a baritone. The question is, do you have a range of control over volume and vowels, without stress, in a 1 1/2 octave range suited for a given vocal type. Talk to your music teacher to see if they are willing to sit down at a piano and explore where your comfort lies within that incredible range of notes :)
