Wow! Seriously underrated channel, love your presentation and delivery format!
One thing I look for (as well as everything you mentioned) is access to one or more major airports
Thanks for watching!!
@@JackieBaker yea you did good
I have been looking for another channel to watch besides Briggs. I started to watch this and quickly noticed that Gen X is 1965 to 1980, not 1970. I’m looking forward to finishing it and I will look around for some other things to watch that you do to.
Update. I finished watching it and it was really good! There are lots of details, and I am going now to find the link that you talked about. Very informative. Thank you so much!
Super helpful for retirement planning! Love the breakdown of the best US destinations for 2023.
Thanks for watching
I lived in 5 of the 10 listed. "Colorado, Wyoming, Florida, Delaware, Virginia". And worked and visited all 10 or have family in many.. I agree with Jackie's 4-Season wish. For the most part this list hits the mark, except Florida. It's unaffordable for seniors on a budget. So my 2 cents worth is New Hampshire is the prettiest, North Dakota is the coldest, Minnesota is fantastic for fishing or lake living but cold., Idaho beautiful and has a housing shortage. South Dakota is better than ND, but because of the Black Hills Area, Colorado is amazing and my favorite place to have lived, but $$$$ Wyoming is way too isolated, Florida is too crazy and property insurance is an issue. Delaware is very nice, and affordable, Virginia deserves it's #1 ranking. Anywhere except around D.C. Go to the Southwestern part or the Northern Neck. All this said from someone 8 years retired with a working spouse and stuck in California for a few more years. If you want the most bang for the buck, check out North Augusta S.C , humid Yes, but four seasons. and if you like nice small towns, Kingsport/Bristol TN. Now that we are all friends you can all come help me pack,. Lunch served.
Lol! Thanks for sharing! When do you need us to help you pack?😂
Heck no to North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota. Winters aren't just a little cold, they are literally the coldest in the lower 48. Wyoming is cold too but for people who like scenery/hiking/outdoors it at least has mountains. I'm willing to pay a premium for good weather (for me that's not cold winters) and scenery/outdoors. But I have another 25 years until retirement age so I guess my mind can change, but not likely.
2:44, I agree, had retired to Yuma AZ several years back. I couldn't stand the summers🥵 it doesn’t even cool off at night, air conditioners run 24 hrs! Also, the seasons don't change in color.
Yeah I need my 4 seasons.
Hi thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!!!
I currently live in Florida. If you're planning on buying a home consider the mortgage insurance cost. It's insane! I'm looking to move someplace else as I'm semi-retired and have a remote job. Just not where to go.
I keep hearing about the rising insurance costs there. That is outrageous!
@@JackieBaker The new immigration bills that just passed may also implode Florida's economy.
@@staciemeyer9649 Trust us. Don't move to Florida.
i am 53yo.i will move into a senior residence
verry helpful
Thanks!
My cuz love ❤️ Kingman AZ for 3 season and 75 miles from Los vages
No trees. I need trees so does my collie.
I used to like the prospect of retiring in Florida. But, now that the home insurance market has gone “off the rails”, I have opened my mind to other areas of the US. I have even started looking into retiring abroad, given our current political atmosphere. However, I really appreciate your insight and opinions of what goes into an formed retirement choice.
😮 unemployment rate! Super smart. I have never heard that one. It makes a ton of sense.
Colorado ranked 14 for affordability!! Omg I would hate to see the others in the mid 20’s!
Agree. I lived in Fort Collins but too rich for me now.
I moved from Virginia to Texas in 2022. I think we're moving back when our granddaughter graduates in 2 years
Yes - Roundabout
Colorado is very expensive today. My wife grew up there and has family there. Also very crowded. Californians have adversely impacted the quality of life there. Maybe its affordable in the agricultural areas where livestock outnumber humans.
We lived in NoVa for 10 years. Super crowded, very expensive, humid and full of govt types. Maybe its affordable down in the rural southern part of the state.
Florida was a top contender for us before home and auto insurance costs skyrocketed.
We will either stay in AZ or take our chances on South Carolina.
And are there any low cost apartments?
I think they need to include temperature in the calculation. People aren't lining up to live in North Dakota.
Good point! I was thinking the same thing!
As they told us when we got our transfer notice. " Why Not Minot" Just spend one winter there, you'll be reciting the rhyme and begging Mr Wizard to bring you home.
I'll stay where I'm at in Washington State. I know we have great health care and we also have no state income tax. It's not cheap but good places to live aren't cheap.
I live in FL. I retired on disability from the federal government.
Delaware health care got a mention on another video where people were recommended to sign up with a doctor (dentist, whatever) before you move because with the massive influx of people now, many doctors aren't taking new patients. I have heard other areas have a dearth of doctors taking more Medicare patients. In other areas they share specialists so yours is in two two days a week or something. Consider in the northern Great Plains you might have to drive hours to find ordinary services. In tourist areas, there are the huge price rises and mobs of strangers, not always law-abiding, in season, such as in Rapid City by the Black Hills. With the oil boom in ND quiet, that horror show has let up: no housing, truckers dumping jugs of urine out their windows as they roar through, oil in the air and on your skin, and too bad if you are a sensitive child or allergic adult. People were commuting to SD to find a place to stay, pushing up prices beyond local reach. That has all subsided, for the present along with expensive plans by the legislature. It really is important to go visit a place, in and out of tourist season. I would also strongly suggest monitoring their local news for awhile to get an idea of local issues that might seriously impact your life.
I like Kingman az for the wast cost
Kingman is out there a piece. Lots of retirees
I will move to North Dakota, can handle cold but not crowds😊
Western part is nice. Near the National Park
Oh and buy four matching snow tires.
❤❤❤
I saw someone who looked just like you at an I-95 rest stop in MD Saturday morning. I would have asked her if it was you, but she was talking very animatedly on her cell phone and walking briskly. I don't suppose that was you?
😂No it wasn’t me!
1. N. Dakota.
2. Idaho.
3. Minnesota.
4. S. Dakota.
5. New Hampshire.
6. Delaware.
7. Wyoming.
8. Colorado.
9. Florida.
10. Virgina.
😂😂😂😂😂
Actually Virginia is #1 and N. Dakota #10 according to the video. Your numbers are backwards. However thanks for listing the 10 states.
North Dakota not bad if you don't drive in January and February, "Whiteouts"... I see you did not get the memo about Virginia being for Lovers
@@scottmarshall2206 I thought Youngkin changed the State Motto.
