Wonderful video, thank you Silvia 💜 I really appreciated what you said about discomfort over spending, it's something not many people talk about, and the issue is all too real for many people.
It's such an interesting video and unique, thanks for sharing your honest opinion. 😀I recently purchased the Cosmo Oracle that is quite pricy for shipping to Australia, however, I am fond of cosmo, physics, science, that's why this deck caught my eye. If I don't feel being connected with the energy, I will not purchase them or I will re home them. Personally I only collect decks to practise and it becomes important how it can be incorporated to my practice. E.G. I have never been drawn to the Ritual Tarot, Nameless One with grimoire, the spirit keeper with the Book of Map as I know Tarot for me is just energy tools. There are many divination tools work as long as we tap into our own psychic ability.
I agree, each and everyone of us should be mindful of what works best and focus on that. I believe it’s also the best way to honor the deck and its creators! I’m like you, if I don’t connect with a deck I re-home it because it deserves to go to someone who will use it! 🥰
@@fairlighttarot True! I admire all creators' work, they make my life so colorful and interesting. We love so many things but might not necessary to have them all. Our universe is abundant, so do we 😃🥰💖 Sending you blessings with love.
Archivist here, for your special French deck, wearing gloves may actually damage the cards more because you cannot feel them as you handle them. Best practice is simply to keep your hands very clean before you touch them and just handle with care :)
I am appreciative of this content. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and collection. As a mindful collector, I try to remain reasonable when it comes to purchasing highly demanded decks.
I nought 2 Bonestone decks and I'm FINALLY ready to sell one of them. I wanted to have one in case anything happens to my desk but now i can keep one of the indie decks and use the mass market deck.
To those of you who have asked for a copy of the unofficial guidebook to the Tyldwick Tarot, I tried sharing the pdf on my community tab but it didn't work. Please reach out to me via email so that I can forward you the document :)
I have a copy of Tarocchi Universali that’s never been used; the LWB is still shrink wrapped! Think it’s from ‘91, just majors. It’s being culled, gotta research prices, then sell at a fair price, not insanely. TSM for showing some of your lovely collection, really enjoyed some that you said will be mass marketed, yippee! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🦋🏍PS Buon nuovo anno! (Prob messed that up, but you get it I’m sure😊.)😊😊
I also have a Bonestone that has just sat on my shelf. It's such a shame everything that went on with that deck. I love Ana Tourian's work and am anxiously awaiting her Tarot of Echoes. I got two copies of Le Tarot Arthurien. I was afraid I couldn't get it in the States so I tried 2 different sources. They both came in. Ana's art and Arthurian Legend are the perfect pairing. The ideas and the spirit of what the Bonestone was meant to be, for me, has been tarnished and I will never use the deck. To nit pic, I do not think that red guiding does justice to cards. I feel it is too harsh. I do however have a lovely sketch from Ana Tourian. I paid extra and I got the page of pentacles which is one of my favorite cards. I will buy any future deck that Ana has does the work for. I have all of her decks except her Lenormand deck. I also have several of her prints. It's a shame everything that happened with the Bonestone. I will never use it. I love Oracle of Echoes and am thrilled there will be a tarot of the same name. One of my pet peaves is a creator saying the deck will never be reprinted and then does. I think it is simply unfair to the people who supported the creator to begin with. It made me happy when you said you don't believe them when they say that. For the most part I have only purchased mass market decks the last few years. I look very hard at kick starters and I find I seldom see a deck that I would use more than something I already own. I gave up serious collection about 10 years ago. Too many decks were coming out to keep up with. I am almost good about not getting decks that will eventually mean little to me. It has been a strange transition. I loved hearing your stories about tarot swapping. I have never had a good experience swapping, unless I already considered my swap partner a friend. It does my heart good to hear happy stories. Thank you so much for sharing these. It was very insightful. I loved hearing your opinions.
Thank you so much 🙏❤️ I completely agree with what you say, sometimes creators get very frustrated with the whole process and they end up saying something that upsets the whole experience. I bought the Bonestone second hand so I didn’t have the same experience but I’ve heard a lot of people that left the deck on their shelves because of how long they had to wait. It’s a pity because Ana’s artwork is simply stunning 🥰
Lovely video! I own or have owned most of these decks you show today (except for the Bonestone which I really don't care for either) and my honest opinion is that the only one worth its current price is the Taro as Color (so yes, I would pay that amount, and I bought a spare so apparently I'd do it twice 😄). I also don't have Mio Im's Tarot - I appreciate its beauty but it's not really my style. ❤
I think I was very lucky in my years of collecting because there is only one or two decks which I had to pay $$$ for. The others came to me thanks to very generous people or because I bought them when they were still in stock. I totally understand what you mean re the Mio Im's, it's not everyone's cup of tea, even though it's a very powerful deck. Thank you for watching :)
@@fairlighttarot Yes, you're absolutely right. I also paid original prices for them (have been collecting since 1997). What has always amused me immensely though is watching how decks, that not many care about, finally go out of print and suddenly everybody thinks they are FANTASTIC and wants them. It's hilarious really. I, for instance, back then couldn't get rid of my Bohemian Cats even if I asked less than the original price for it. So yeah... it's a funny thing.
@@ninainanna oh, I know what you mean! It’s a very famous psychological phenomenon that says that people want what they can’t have 😉😂 I think that some $$$ decks are really overrated but somehow collectors are happy to pay top dollars to get them just because they’re hard to find 🤷♀️😊
I've heard a lot of people getting so tired of waiting for the reward from the kickstarter that they had the same reaction and now their copy sits on the shelf. I totally understand, sometimes a deck just doesn't resonate :)
The note on the guidebook of the grand tarot belline that it's "exclusively for professionals" made me giggle... Especially since with all the grandeur of the outside presentation, I didn't expect the pictures to be.... Childlike? It has a charm to it though, I'm curious to read the notes at the bottom of the pictures
It’s an important deck that shaped the way in which tarot were created in the following years. It’s full of astrological references and overall Marseille-heavy. Certainly a great collectible item!
Mio Im makes me cry every time. I’m always on the hunt for Korean artists that make tarot decks. Many of the decks I find showcase traditional clothing, or cute cartoon style art, but I am not looking for that. I’m searching for art that happens to be made by a Korean artist that has the passion to create decks that make people feel something about the culture and themselves. Mio Im does this. Please let me know if you know of other Korean artists with meaningful tarot decks. Thank you for showing this and your other precious decks.
I completely agree on the Mio Im! It’s so powerful and fascinating at the same time! She’s the only Korean tarot creator I know unfortunately, but I’m also longing for more artists like her. In Japan, I like Yoshitaka Amano who made the Amano Tarot and Stella Kaoruko who made the Stella’s Tarot. But I think nothing compares to the Mio Im 💙
Thank you for this wonderful presentation. If you do know how to acquire a copy of the PDF companion information for the Tyldwick Tarot, I would be so happy to know.
I love the Mio Im but man that's a lot of money for a deck that is still in print! I'm so tempted, especially because of your interpretation of the lovers card, that's very sweet. And you're right, these days we're not supposed to show our grief, we're supposed to move on. It's awful! I hope you end up getting the other Folchi deck!
I’m very close to settling on a price, I’ve been looking for that deck for a while! The Mio Im might be expensive but I can assure you that it’s worth it 🥰
