Your hair looks great! My hair is very similar to yours in texture and color. I should buy a curling iron. I have waves but I probably could benefit from using a curling iron. I probably haven't used one since I was in my twenties. Great collection! Take care

Hi Silvia, I hear you about the "Rhythm and Soul Tarot"....mine never came with the guitar pick either and stickers were damaged and only a little pieces of paper for protection. I also have all the other decks in this collection. Unfortunately my copy of the Rose and Dust Oracle...has been made and is all out of alignment ...the line work on the side of cards were big one side and then small on other side. I did get this from a proper indie deck seller. I did reach out to them about this so they could check their copies for selling. And she did open another copy but it was correct. The indie deck supplier did offer to replace me for me. But I didn't brother...as I do realize it was not her fault. After receiving this deck this way also. I have decided not to back future decks from this creator as we do pay good money for these products, and it does become very disappointing. Which is such a shame as I do love these decks. I am in Brisbane area of Australia. I do love the guidebook and deck. I was very shocked when I looked inside the box when I first opened it. Kickstarter's a always normally give you this feeling of...you ordered something special. I have Lisa's deck also. And follower Lisa as well. Everything is perfect with Lisa's deck, and this is actually the level of care and quality you always hope for when receiving a deck on Kickstarter. Take Care. At least your workbook came in the cellophane for the Rhythm and Soul Tarot. For some reason my book had no cellophane and it looked like it had been thrown on the ground and stepped on because of how messed up the shape was. My shipping box had absolutely no damage on the outside. Even the cover of the book had dirt on it! I do absolutely love the deck though.

Hi Silvia, I would like to comment on purchasing decks. This is only my personal feelings and what I have noticed over the past 5 years or so in my life. I am a tarot reader for others and of course myself. I love Kickstarter decks and Indie decks and I also enjoy some wonderful mass market decks we have had over this time also. . I think personally myself, back before covid the decks that were out on the market in all areas weren't taking us to places that now the same RWS decks are. I feel that we are now getting to enjoy the experiences of what the creators are sharing with us in their art and guidebooks in such a new way. The RWS based decks have become much more push and pull.... (flow) there is much more space to travel with in each card. Getting us to see the cards and feel them in so many different ways which teaches us to expand, as a person, a reader and our knowledge in life as a whole. And thats exciting when you get to turn up the volume of your knowledge on any card with in the Tarot system. Don't get me wrong there has been many amazing decks before covid. But what is getting pumped out over the last couple of years has really helped our tarot community grow as a whole. So many people reached out to tarot and oracle decks over the covid period for the first time in their lives for support and understanding. I totally agree with you. You can love a walkthrough of a deck you have just seen, and feel its right for you. Only to receive it and it not be as noisey as you like in your hands during a reading. Nothing lights me up more than to receive a deck and it be so chatty. I have been reading tarot since I was in my early 20's and I am now am 55. You as a tarot reader yourself for others.... realize just how much you can still learn through reading for others each time you read. You describing what your feeling or seeing to the person your reading for, with in the cards on the table. Your reading what you know those cards to be at times, but also intuitively just as much. Gosh how we learn something new or different nearly every time we read for others. I have always collected decks, right from the beginning. But the amount of decks I have purchased over the last 5 years have increased largely. I have a few friends and we get together one night a week and deep dive into a deck of our choice. We choose a deck and purchase it each, and talk about what we see in each card together. Which is great because we all bring different things we see with in each card. We then read about that card in there guidebook. We all reflect on that particular card and if it spoke loudly to us or not. Its so interesting hearing everyone thoughts and feelings. Over this last 5 year period of which I talk. I have notice with in my spending habits that the Kickstarter and indie decks are ones I seem to love more. And are also the ones I spend more time with. I still love mass market but find it more hit and miss once they are in my hands. I know for sure most times the quality of the product in the kickstarter and indie decks are better then mass market. (Most times) Even though there is some really great feeling mass market decks out there these days. The presentation of the the Kickstarter and Indies boxes and edges of cards etc. Just do feel beautiful in may hands. I think because I am putting more money toward the Kickstarter and Indie decks, I am more careful in those moments about what I am choosing. Plus as you know shipping and taxes into Australia etc makes your realize what your truly spending . In the last 7 months I have started placing items in the Australia Amazon cart and not purchasing them until the month is up. Like I do with Kickstarter. When you back Kickstarter. You normally have a month to reconsider. You can pull out on backing that deck at any time. Until the final day. So I figured...I might do the same thing with Australia Amazon. And its been awesome for me. I have not purchased as many mass market decks, as I have had time to reconsider...like I do on Kickstarter. That month of waiting really gives me time to look at where I would use the deck I am thinking about with in my collection. I have also left Indie decks in carts for the 1 month during this time and I have also at times reconsidered and decided against it. This has become a great way for me to really know if I feel comfortable totally before purchasing any deck. Yes I am still purchasing decks. But no where near as many. I actually feel in totally control which is powerful. And my money is now going towards decks I seem to be wanting to keep. This has been a long comment for you to read. But due to how helpful I have found this method to be. I feel it was important for me to share. Again everything I have shared is only how I feel. I love this method I found and grateful to not feel like I have wasted my money as I have when purchasing a deck that hasn't worked in the past. I must also say....another reason I purchase a deck and keep it is the Guidebook. I know tarot and its meanings etc. But a good guidebook that makes you think outside the normal....Tickles me with delight, and this is what I think has happen with in the decks we are now seeing. Decks are being illustrated to push us into not only seeing what we know the RWS to be. If we can still love Tarot and Oracle deck after all these years and still continue to learn. I wish creators would give us an option if we want gilding or not. It looks like crap within a week unless it's done with highter quality. I just got a Kickstarter with guild and pretty much after my first shuffle it looked like crap but I love the deck.

As a consumer who appreciates the art in tarot, I think having something on the box deck saying AI generated or AG artist generated or AIM (ai manipulated) is the honest thing to do. Let the consumer decide if they want AI in the deck, keep them informed. Personally, I want decks with no AI used. It’s like AI in books. If ChatGPT wrote the story and you changed some of the names, adjectives and sentences, is that truly an authors’ work? In my opinion, no. It’s AI written work with editor modifications. I don’t want to buy that book.

IMHO as an artist - all art is a process, the investment of the creator in said process equals art - so if it’s quick and thoughtless, it shows - the tools used are irrelevant really, they always change. It’s the investment of skill, time, talent and to be conscious of theft vs collage, borrowing ideas, repurposing etc. There is no avoiding AI but in every area of life it comes down to how the tool is used, the degree to which one invests oneself, in time and process.

As soon as I saw this deck, I had to have it. I think it's beautiful 😍

Thank you for delving into this subject. Now I'm wondering if I have any AI generated decks! And I am so glad that I own a number of decks that were hand drawn and or painted. Artists need to continue to be valued for their genuine insight and skill. You highlighted the "soul" of the artist communicating to you through the artwork in the deck, and I think that is everything. 💜

I was wondering if you would be able to suggest a few Trade and Swap groups that you may have come across in Australia that you trust. I only have Original Deck: mass market, indies and kickstarter. Of course I also have Oop decks as well in all 3 categories. I have used market place, but would love to trade or swap decks with others who treasure there decks like I do. I keep my decks in perfect condition. Hope you can guide me. As for all the AI talk....Just buy decks you love. You do you always and make choices your happy with. I have a lot of thoughts about this. First, your ethical question - actually, if you use the AI by Adobe, it was trained entirely on stock images that they own. I'm sure their concern was more legal than ethical, but no artist's works were used without permission. I think that will be the wave of the future - as various AI systems are created by big corporations with big pockets, they don't need to scrape the web for free images. That being said, to me the real ethical issue is whether thoughtless commercial AI is going to put artists out of work, and I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. However, that doesn't make me against AI on principle; I just think it means that we need to look into the how and why AI is being used. Now as to whether it's art and we can feel the "soul" of the creator...well, do we have to? I don't really feel the soul of the creator in the pips of a Marseille deck, but sometimes I like that level of objectivity. Sometimes I like a really abstract deck like the Orbifold, which is basically just a system of colored spheres. To me, it's more important that a deck contains magic than art, and some AI decks are very magical. For example, the Tarot of the Everlasting Day by Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin, who have spent most of their lives studying the history and practice of esoteric tarot. Or one of the earliest AI decks (maybe the first), the Alvdansen, where the creators were doing rituals to invoke Swedish elf-spirits into the AI to communicate with them as the deck was being made. I do want to support these creators, and these decks are wonderful. On the other hand, there are way too many decks being created by people who know nothing about tarot or publishers who want to make some easy money. Like everything you buy, you need to ask yourself if that's where you want your money to go. Finally, as to the issue of whether the AI could write a tarot guidebook, well, AIs great at producing vague and sweeping summaries in a very literate style. They aren't good at all (read incapable) of producing anything with depth, originality or insight. In short, AI can churn out little white books that are the equal of any out there, but never a great guidebook. If you're asking "Could this be AI?" - at your level of experience, if there's anything new that you've learned from the book, anything that seems unique and not the same old thing you've read in a dozen other guidebooks - in other words, if it's actually good, it won't be AI.

I don't have problem with so-called AI. But I don't understand why the deck is called The Artist Decoded Tarot. Shouldn't it be called The AI decoded tarot? 😂

Thanks for the thoughtful discussion. I am conflicted regarding AI technology. Up until now there has only been one deck, the Haptic Tarot, that appealed to me. Due to my conflicted feelings I didn't back it. I now regret that decision.

Hi Silvia. IMO, "Is AI real art?" is kinda the same question we asked when photography came along ~ arguments on both sides. Everything evolves, including art, so ~ I think it's for each individual to decide, same as whether they consider photography to be "real" art. I'm less concerned how an image is produced, than whether or not I like it. It still takes skill to manipulate the medium used. But. Everyone will answer the question according to their definition of art and their own values.

I like both of the Stage 3 AI decks and maybe they should be described as AI assisted since the artist reworked the images significantly. I will not support Stage 1 editions for the reasons you give. When AI assists the process then it is a tool. I have not studied the history of art so I’m assuming that graphic design once did not use computers so when computer designed graphic art became a ‘thing’ then it could have been rejected as ‘non-art’. I have been quick to call AI art ‘non-art’ but I’m prepared to accept it as a design tool alongside others that presently exist. I just don’t want to cut the artist out of the design process and make them redundant. We will always need artists to create art whether they use AI to assist them or not. It just needs to be declared so I can make an informed decision to support it or not. I hope that AI will never grow to replace the artist. I share that worry with a lot of people.

Firstly, I really like the Artist Decoded deck. It gives me Somnia meet Klimt vibes. The guidebook is also awesome. But, I've said it once and I'll say it again...if the use of AI is properly put somewhere on the deck or books then they aren't hiding anything. I take aim at people just taking famous paintings and putting them on tarot cards. There's no real work and they're essentially just stealing someone's art and making a profit. And I'm not talking about artist specific decks. I'm talking about the mixed, curated art decks.

Perhaps AI assisted deck. I’d love to know if AI was used and then I can make my own choice.

I love the Inner Child Oracle too! It’s multifaceted for sure. I really like to pair it up with the Naked Truth Tarot. She has a new one coming next week and I’m so excited to see what more she has for us since this one impressed me so much.

I’ll be very honest; depends on my mood. Often if I get a new deck I like using it more often to get a feel for it but other times mood affects what kind of images I want or need to see. I just got the Supernova deck (omg *best* Tower card ever, I know that pain of toppling w/ a broken heel & saved the night somehow!) so it’s sitting out along with Tarocchi Gialli & the Halloween Forever Oracle since they’re also fairly new. Other times it’s completely random as to what I feel drawn to. Btw there’s another Thoth based deck I rarely hear people talk about called “Parrott Tarot”. It’s available thru the creator less expensive than Amazon (which calls it a “children’s deck” because of the art). It says it’s RWS based but nope has all the correspondences as the Golden Dawn & Thoth w/ a RWS looking major arcana but w/ all the cabalistic & astro influences. The best part is there’s a wee parrot on the lower right hand side of each card! In the Majors it has a 🎶note which corresponds to something if played (can’t find my notes😕); when you look up research the creators have all the info online plus a downloadable pdf. Oh & the minors, each parrot shows literally what the card means! It’s unusual, amusing but very deep. If interested pls let me know as I got mine as a 1st ed directly from the creator. $60+ dollars for a mass market deck?? I struggle to justify that for indie/Kickstarter decks. It’s hard to not view it as just a money grab when some seriously high-quality, but earlier release, mass market decks are still a fraction of that (Woodland Wardens, one of my favorites, is still only $15). I used to balk at paying over $25 for mass market and lately that seems like a budget price. I’m now just saving my $ and buying one really nice indie deck now and then.

When in doubt, turn to Keanu. Fandom decks are awesome! They speak to us in such a personal way (looking at you Labyrinth tarot ❤).

the fifth spirit tarot, cozy witch, secret language of colors, Rosebud Tarot, and some german Decks are my most used ones. a new one that I use daily since I got it two months ago, is the Rosa obscura tarot, the New one by Orla bird ❤❤❤ I love it so much😊
