Wow dylan, your street shots are sublime. Amazing colours and vibes. Well done!
    About the lens: between my 50mm f2 and 75mm f1.2, I guess I can't really rationalize a 55/56mm lenw buy 😅
This does interest me due to the dimensions, seems like a great daily carry. Maybe sell the 50 and look for 56. Anyway, looking forward to the shootout!

Thanks for watching. So many lenses, so little actual need, eh? This is definitely a great option, but the 50mm f/2 is a great lens as well. It really depends on the max aperture you need as well as the little bit of extra reach. The shootout should actually be very interesting. The differences aren't, perhaps, as big as you might expect.

This Meike lens looks solid, but the price makes me think about TTArtisan’s options. Their 50mm f/1.2 is cheaper and still delivers amazing bokeh for portraits.

Looking forward to the comparative video, I am chomping at the bit to add a few more lenses to my kit.

This was on sale for €207 instead of €260 lately, hard to beat. Only thing I'm worried about is the CA/fringing, seen quite a lot in some full size uploads from SonyAlphaBlog, and you confirmed it as well. I know you'll compare it to the other third-party lenses, but how do you think does it compare to the old 56 1.2 in image quality?

Have you tried the 33mm f/1.4? I ordered it. Would you say it's better (in image quality) than the 55mm?

I bought this lens last week and compared it with my Sigma 65mm f2. No doubt the Sigma's built quality is 2nd to none. But in terms of Image quality and autofocus i didn't feel Meike being a downgrade. It is actually better vs my old Zeiss 55mm...

Hadn't heard of the Sigma 65mm. Seems it's a full-frame lens. Interesting comparison!

For the price impressive lens. Little less contrast stable?

Has Meike sent you their new 33mm F1.4 to review?

"3rd party rear lens mount caps that work on all of your lenses, YES! OMG... how is this even a thing that they DON'T work on other lenses (yet the lenses themselves mount fine onto the body lol).

It's wild... there are a couple of manufacturers who make basically Fujifilm cap clones with "FX Mount" written on the back and they're great. I wish everyone would just use those... really, a pretty lens cap doesn't add anything to the experience, but a functional one does!
