Controlling the clock is all well and good, but we have to learn to capitalize off it. Doesn't mean a ton when you can't score especially in the red zone.
i mean yeah, the ideal plan is burning clock while ending in touchdowns, but dude's obviously just pointing out the one thing the offense is doing well this season.
Pound the rock! I felt we could have beaten A&M if we just pounded the rock a little more. I wanna see more of the big freshman Braylon Russell to give Jackson a nice spell.
Yes! Nice to have Russell to give JJ a rest. Dudes a tank. So heartbreaking that being 6-0 wasn't far out of reach.
We couldn’t run vs A&M we needed points. They made green have to beat them with his arm
They were really selling out vs the run, but agreed we could have tries wearin em out.
We had success early on a straight run then it seemed like most of the run plays after that were reads. If they had kept running straight at A&M things would have turned out a lot differently I feel. It just wasn't Petrino's finest hour calling plays that day. It was clear that our line couldn't pass block, so bully ball was our best option.
Nother armchair Sunday morning coach.
With our D we will always have a chance. Our O must score every time we get in the redzone though. We got a huge blessing surviving the Tenn game with the zeros we left on good drives.
You indicated “time of possession”. This is predicated on the fact that TG, when pressured himself (ala the Aggies), can find open receivers that he has been missing on short routes. When blitzes are expected, we have to have the safety valve in place to burn those defenders who are leaving areas open. (See Tom Brady Patriots eat clock). Yes agree with ToP! Against the Aggies we had no plan for an entire half, The First Half, no plan to deal with the pressure against TG. Fix that and ToP is your friend.
