    Careful with that concrete dust, it will etch your paint/clearcoat. I worked for one of the major auto manufacturers when a construction contractor set up a temporary concrete mixing plant next to the new car storage lot, dust went everywhere, a little rain and over 3,000 cars had to be repainted. Go through that washer as slow as possible. You'll need to do air filter maintenance more often as well, including your cabin air filter.

      It's not that bad bud ...they are supposed to have bag houses none of that concrete dust is in the air what's so ever gets in your car and no it doesn't need to be re painted it needs to be washed simple as that your way over reacting

    I hauled Portland for 3 years for a local concrete company. Definitely go through that wash slower because if any powder is left behind it will harden on your truck and eventually if it gets thick enough you’ll need to air chisel it off.

    My husband was a Tug Boat Captain. He would bring barge loads of the dry cement that you're trucking. He would unload his barge right into the 18 wheelers. It was a lot of work and the drivers loved how he could keep them moving. He would fill 5 or 6 trucks at the same time. They made money cause he was fast at what he did.

    My Pops hauled bulk trailer out of Concrete Delivery in Buffalo through the 80's and 90's. Then hauled Fly Ash from a coal power plant to Albany after that. They added it to the concrete in bridges to increase lifespan. The trailer with that hose hoop at the front for the trucks with a wet kit to blow off the load is all the memories of dad. He bought a brand new 89 Western Star with a sleeper, E/f 18sp road ranger trans and 525 hp. His last truck was an 05 Volvo with a day cab, aluminum frame, wet kit and 325 hp. Pullin hills took more gears but he got almost 8 mpg instead of 6 in the western star, and could have an extra 10,000lbs in the bulk trailer for bigger check every day.

    If you need to shift some weight to the trailer axles, it is possible, but must be done before you leave the plant. Just close the vent valve, backup about 20 ft and hard stop! The powder will shift some into the back pod. If your hauling 79000-80000 you will be over axle on your drives if you don't shift some of the powder into the back pod. Good luck!

    Good job finding something to haul. I just shut down my authority instead of renewing the registration and insurance. I was doing this as a part time side hustle and my equipment is paid for so it won't devastate me to sit and watch the market for a year. I sincerely hope the volume and rates return soon for everyone struggling. I sure wouldn't hurt for fuel prices to come down but I doubt that's going to happen. God bless all the truckers

    • @chorbajiiski
      @chorbajiiski Рік тому

      Just like fuel prices not going down, the prices of groceries, building materials and everything else will never go back down and will only go up from here. Therefore people are not shopping like they used to simply because they can’t afford to. With that being said, the volume of loads will only decrease from where it’s at now and that will lead to many more companies and o/o shutting down

My department cut all the I beams and parts to build the columns , platforms , stairs, handles. That first unloading station was a full canopy with tracking gangways. Do they supply the blower air for the unload process at the silo? The trucks that delivered plastic pellets to us had their own blowers mounted on the tractors. They would unload at 3 to 5 psi. Any more than that and they would get a talking to from our owner, his Cadillac would get cover in dust if they tried to speed up the process, it would blow product out the silo vent.

    Just remember this ROMEX Backset Platinum will be your best freind if any Portland Cement, or Cement as we call it, gets on your truck and trailer. It will remove dry hardened Cement on you paint or polished aluminum. It will not hurt your polished aluminum and will turn the Cement into a rinsable mud. Good luck. Hauler for any pointers hauling Cement. Get you a right weight gauge and install it somewhere on the catwalk or near the blower so you can see what your weight is at your drives.dry bulk materials in a Pneumatic tend to sometimes load heavier on the front pod.
    I too have a w900 hauling Cement and it is a little tricky at first knowing how much you can haul and how much fuel you need. The more you take the more you get paid but, run the risk to over axel on a legal load. Best of luck 👍

    You need to wash the dust off every time because it is very corrosive and will ruin the finish on your paint

    Hi Justin. For your company: Guaranteed delivery or fuel cost only. We get priority unload at your customer that you arrange. Rates based on milage. Verified construction allowance. Your rates for this job sound good especially being home every night. Something is going to give or there will be nothing in stores and the manufacturers will close. Have good days!

    Hey brother. I move trailers at a Furniture Warehouse in Conover NC. Daily loads, very consistent freight and light weight. Most loads are one stop, no touch.

    I forgot to ask the other day but what's the specs on your W9? What axles are you running in the rear? I think the company by me was specced with 46k rears and as I mentioned before, they have a PTO and a gear driven blower to offload themselves. If you really like this work, look for a day cab in the future that you can put to work for this type of stuff!

    It's gotta feel great to get something worth running your truck with. Free truck washes have to be a deal maker.
