- Once you go adjustable you won't go back. Well, you won't need to really. That is the point, NEVER install ball joints on your Jeep Wrangler again. Exodus4x4.com🔻Expand for more info🔻
After you install bigger tires on your Jeep Wrangler I give it about 20K miles before you start getting the shakes and those ball joints need to be replaced. Now there is an option to just install these and adjust them if they need to be tightened. In this video we go over how to check to see if you need to replace your ball joints, a little on the install and what makes the Synergy adjustable ball joints so special.

These ball joints are still working perfectly. This Jeep now sits on 37s and just had 5.13s installed. It's fun to see my Jeep in a UA-cam video.
That's what Teraflex said about their balljoints
The edits are hilarious, whai? That one get me every time. I’m taking my Jeep to y’all for this ball joint upgrade, C brace thing, and front and back re-gear. I’m much looking forward to it. Keep up the good work, I’ll see y’all in April when I’ve got my Jeep budget built back up haha
This channel is one of the best out there. No bull crap internet mechanics, no bull crap sponsored parts that they are forced to say things about. All honest reviews with real life guys that know what the hell their doing.
Keep up the videos guys. Love watching
Thanks!
Guess they did a great acting job
I just ordered my set and I'm super excited! Your videos have been helping me prevent stock parts from failing... such as... BALL JOINTS.
Honest information from a great shop. What else can you ask for, except maybe living a bit closer to New Braunfels. 😎
I've ran the synergy & the teraflex in my JK... They all go to shit
Good stuff Bubba. 👍
When you torque the preload to 120 in lbs, make sure that specialty crows foot is installed at a right angle to the torque wrench. The torque wrench will be in its accuracy window because you have not increased the length of the lever. Pointing the crows foot forward of the square drive effectively lengthens the wrench. Even though you are pulling 120 on the dial, the actual preload will be much greater at the joint. You have at this point over torqued your preload spec by a significant amount. If the 120 number is the required preload by the ball joint mfg, you are not installing the to the mfg’s spec and are putting more preloaded stress on that ball joint. I was a crew chief, then a flight safety certified flight inspector on some of the best and most sophisticated rotary wing aircraft both in the military and later at the mfg for 40+ years. This will hopefully help you in the future.
Exodus just installed it in my Jeep and I am very happy so far. Thanks Exodus.
Just found your channel. Excellent video = new subscriber. Thanks
Love your vids bud!
Thanks!
Yeah. I may need to check my ball joints.
Good video
Knurled usually ends up because a mechanic is too cheap to buy the right adapter kit to install the balljoints i.e OTC 7894 which aligns the press properly so they go in straight rather than at an angle
Or because these axles suck and are the new ball joints fit so shitty a knurled finish seats better. Nice cheap ass OTC name drop, but we only use SnapOn in our shop.
4 years ago I purchased a 2010jku lifted that had these synergy knurled balljoints and they were dry and worn out. I believe if the prior owner would've greased them often they would've lasted. So if you invest in greasable expensive aftermarket balljoints...grease them.
any avantage of these vs American Iron balljoint Delete ?
Ty
Great video! Do you always use the KN version? I've seen reviews saying the truck is too tight, is this because of the KN or improper adjustment?
What do you recommend for a CJ7? I see synergy doesn't offer one for the CJ's
Love the Channel. Do you recommend ball joint eliminator for the same axle?
We have one of those kits in, just waiting for the right customer and then we’ll make a video on it!
Can it hold up 40 inch tire?
I’m buy some upper ball joints and noticed new ones goes up and down is that normal? I put it in my other Jeep and wasn’t like that any advice
Are these ball joints available for a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ?
Do adjustable ball joints allow for extra camber adjustable on a Grand Cherokee? That’s the claim I’m being quoted because the factory joints don’t allow enough adjustment room.
How do taller tires lead to ball joint failure?
Hi. I got JL 2020 2.0 4door rubicon. I am looking for 1 degree off sett upper right ball joint. Can't find any. Only one I can find is for 07-18 JK. Please help. Thank you.
If I'm looking to replace the factory ball joints for the first time on a 2018 JL, would you recommend going with non-knurled ball joints? Based on what you said around 2:30, it sounds like you want knurled when the axle has seen more use and/or has had a few rounds of ball joint replacements.
Stick with non knurled unless you dont have a choice. Once you go knurled you can never use non knurled again. Imho spicer is superior, and I've never gotten the service life with any aftermarket joints as i do with spicer. 96 xj 6.5in long arm lift 4.56:1 gears with 36x14.5 r15. 2001 xj 3in lift stock gears with 31x10.5 r15. 👍
awesome! 🎉
Do you feel they compare to Dynatrac or rare parts ball joints? Only $60-$100 difference and It seems like everything Dynatrac makes is beef. I’m asking because I’m getting ready to do mine and I was gonna do the Dynatrac ones. Thanks and great videos!
We sell both, but I would go this route. Adjustable and rebuildable.
Can we see a build video on that Equinox in the background???
Lol, that 2.0 turbo rips boyyyyyy!!!!
Are these better than the previous synergy?
Also how do they compare to terraflex HD ball joints?
Way better than previous ball joints made by Synergy. Given the choice between these and Teraflex, I’ll always choose Synergy.
You lost me anti-sieze for the future replacement. What about American Iron Ball Joint delete?
Do you have un update on the supercharger yet? Or a date when you'll drop the final thoughts video?
It’s coming soon, maybe 2 more weeks. Wanting to get some more seat time in a JK install we did.
Coming out with the supercharger review video #2 this week.
You recommend these for JL too over the dynatrac
Either these or the ball joint deletes
What is the item/part name which he recommended to add since a ball joint being replaced ? I couldn’t figure the name out , thank you
Synergy 4127 for ball joints or the American Offroad ball joint deletes
Will these help correct any excessive negative camber I may have?
Nah you need adjustable control arms for that
@@Exodus4x4 control arms for camber? Wouldn’t that fix caster? I thought the ball joint tells the wheel to angle in or angle out?
6:34 Should have said "yeah sure,i may never pay this thing until the day i die but hey Its from Snap on :D* "
*Completely dies inside while saying "but hey its from Snap On" XD
Yeah those tools aren’t for everyone but we consider ourselves professionals and only want to use the best when working on our customers rigs.
How about if you just leave the stock tires size on the Jeep
Wondering how long those stock ball joints last
They'll probably last a very, very long time
Do they make some for the xjs?
I do think so
I’m at 114,000 miles on my original ball joints on 35’s. No wobble.
Dang you to wheel it more!
@@chrissmith7364 they lasted because they're spicer.
Will this ball joints adjust caster and camber
No it won’t. If your camber needs adjusting then most likely your housing is bent
I am just about to put STT PRo 37x13.5x17 on my rig. I assume my OEM ball joints will go quickly, any update on these? Will we get a couple of years out of them?
Yep, they’re available now!
@@Exodus4x4 Is it a mileage thing or how many times you wheel and how difficult the terrain is? I may wait until mine go south before changing them out. Thoughts?
Or get a samurai and you won't have ball joints 😉 good video man
Do yall build out jeeps fully...buy from dealer/build and sell
Negative, that’s very risky.
Don't you think that the dynatrack hd prosteer ball joints are better?
They’re both good but the economical choice would be the Synergy. The Dynatracs are great too but they do cost a bit more.
link does not work
Would these fit on a xj?
?
We did the Teraflex HD Adjustable Ball Joints and they suck. Can't adjust them, and they wear super fast. We've striped the adjustment collars trying every way possible to get them to turn in or out. (Yes we've taken the set screws out every time as well) they just suck folks.
Have you tried Synergy?
They will adjust I figured out the issue. When installing have to be careful not to warp then when pressing in must use antiseize. Then they work well. THEY ARE NOT AS GOOD AS SENERGY! but they are cheaper.
ALLDATA 2 hours labor each side. Add $500 parts expensive!!!
Are these only for the JK? Can't seem to find any for the JLU.
Synergy is making them right now.
@@Exodus4x4 probably out a few months until they are out on the market I guess. What about dynatrac, at 640$ it's expensive but are they worth it?
The evo colovers on the jt are they 12 or 14 stoke and 2.0 or 2.5? Thanks
2.5x14
4:13 🤣
Do they make these for a Dana 50?
No sir they don’t.
Please tell us you got rid of that Rough Country crap on that customer's jeep
I don’t remember. It was on there when it showed up. Everyone has their own budget to work within.
Has anyone got any long term reviews they wanna share on these ? I need ball joints yesterday and I'm ordering today ,but can't make up my mind from the reviews on forums between teraflex adjustable ball joints or synergy adjustables.
Synergy!
i disagree with puting in a knurled ball joint if you dont absolutely have to. Imo none are superior to dana spicer and once you go knurled you'll never be able to use spicer again.
Who says?
@@Exodus4x4 its common knowledge so basically anyone who knows anything about jeeps and ball joints.
Sorry but it most likely more then just the ball joints u should no that with jeeps
Take a grammar class and then come back to comment.
If you want a real solution and not these garbage balljoints get balljoint deletes. Theyre 500 bucks but theyre better than anything out there, they last for life. I have synergy and theyre better than stock but still crap
Ballpoint deletes are bad ass but not for everyone.
$500?? No thanks.
They went down to $300 lol
Can we have a vid without the stupid music and just a step-by-step instruction goddamnit !!!!
Love the Channel. Do you recommend ball joint eliminator for the same axle?
