My dad's in video playing 23 inch long chord harmonica9 and his friend George is playing bass harmonica! My dad was 73, when he did this. He had so much fun that day & talking to Kansas members 💕
They still are touring every year, but unfortunately, the great Steve Walsh's vocals have been retired. No one's vocals ever gave me goosebumps quite like Steve Walsh! This video is just one example.❤
Unbelievable!!! There is just no one that has his range, quality , emotion, style. Walsh deserves his place as rocks greatest vocalist. I am 60 now and have not heard anyone nearly as good.
@Beth Leinicke Amazing comment..yes, not only the greatest male vocalist of his generation, the guy is an unreal Hammond player and songwriter. I don't know anyone close to matching Steve's control, range, power, passion, tone..unbelievable
I wore this cassette out when this was released. I was so happy Kansas was back with Walsh and the addition of Morse was fantastic. Can't Cry Anymore was the pinnacle of Walsh's vocals.
As a singer, whenever I need inspiration I come and listen to vocals of this caliber. Steve, I'm still studying your incredible voice! You sing this with your entire being!
Next to "The Wall, this song is their finest....Steve's vocals are just STUNNING!!!!!! I always have to rest after I hear it, every time. lol..SO POWERFUL!!! .The way he puts everything he's got into his music is our gift. :O)
Linda Kay Gross. I totally agree. He is just outstanding! How can he get through the video with all the stuff going on around him! A true Master in his field. We could write a book. Hee
Linda Kay gross if you still read this you are so right!!! They do not get any better than this I guess I sound like a broken or smashed record but I cannot get over the talent Steve had. We'll still has I believe after hearing him recently. have a great day!!

This was a great video and song with Steve Walsh, Steve Morse, Phil Ehart,Rich Williams and Billy Greer. I wished someone had a clean HD Video of it..! It is one of their BEST Songs ! Thank you and Good job ArizonaBasement ! You worked with what you had !
The original Kansas was absolutely Amazing. The combination of Livgren's writing and Walsh's voices and the staggering musicianship... they just don't make 'em like that anymore. Walsh's voice is outstanding on this song. I would saw my left leg off if I could sing like that.
The way the line is sung at 4:05 (to me at least) is one of the greatest sounds ever recorded. HEART-wrenching. If I could sing only one thing well, THAT would be it. That part alone should have won them a Grammy (along with the fact its one of the greatest songs ever).
I was so happy to see them at an outside concert some years back while Steve was still touring. My daughter was with me and I caught the thrown drum stick at the end so gave it to her. What a night
A power ballad that didn't take itself too seriously. All of the intensity was provided by Steve's voice, not the saws, not the bagpipes, not the marching band. Good sense of humor, tremendous singing.
We'll I am out of words folks. Love Steve's voice so much. And after all these years and the problems he had he is singing good now too. Bless you Steve!!!
One of my all time favorite videos! Perfect for promoting the song, but as another person posted, I wish they would have made this BIG version available on CD to the public.
I'm not much of a over critical critic. But I am a true Kansas fan. Great song off of the Power CD. Steve Morse era is a nice alternative time for Kansas. This CD made me a fan of Kansas' music all over again. Thank you for posting.
WOW THIS IS THE ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN FROM ANY BAND WOW SO TOUCHY THAT IT JUST BRINGS TEAR TO YOUR EYES JUST AWESOME!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!
i always had a thing with this song ,in the 80 s i played it for a friend of my,it became his favorite song, don t get me wrong i love the song ,but he was so emotional about it,that it turned me of you no, now i listening again and it still is the great song steve s singing but well the whole power album for me is a classic anyway thanks for posting, greetz from holland!!
Steve Walsh was perhaps at the height of his vocal powers around 1987. His musicianship and singing were mature with the youthful vibrancy intact. Terrific song, monster vocal.
@@williamgibbs3199 healthy....true. beautiful voice. Such feelings in that voice!!! I guess I sound like a broken record but I totally am hooked just outstanding !!!!!
Steve was probably at the height of his vocal powers from '76-'82. After that, his voice started eeteriorating. Although this performance is very good, don't get me wrong, this Walsh does not stack up to the Walsh in Kansas's prime. Then, his voice was even more magnificent. It had more clarity and range. He could easily hit the notes that he was straining to hit in this video. By 1987, his voice was already nasally from the years of drug addiction.
Thank You for posting this one - I'm shocked that I don't remember seeing it before. FYI - Power was a good album. "In the Spirit of Things" was one of their best albums.
Ohhh my word. My dad and I were going through his old bagpipe stuff when he showed me his sheet music for... Kansas? Soo disbelief led to curiosity and now here we are. Huh! 4:18 That sly son of a gun.
This song was recorded in 1987 beautifully done it is now 2017 they say rock music is dead what the music industry should do is listen to this album by Kansas and start by looking for artists that can sing and harmonize and can keep a rhythm not to mention rock music is not dead the music they top 40 and rap music is so overplayed
Great vocals from Walsh. Fun and awesome video. Love the track. Shoulda scored well on the charts. Only heard it on NIGHT TRACKS. Thanks to You Tube and all concerned parties. Awesome!

I'll let you in on a little secret: most of the sweetener you see in the video, isn't actually on the song. For one thing, I think most of what does get added, that's not actually on the album mix, is synthesizers. Like when they show the harmonica or wine glass players, you're not actually hearing those instruments. And when the orchestra and marching band show up, I don't think anything really changes in the mix at all. So what you're actually hearing is a lot more subtle than what would happen if a record producer actually started donig stuff like that (oh, and "sweetener" is what they call it when they do overdubs like that, orchestras or choirs or horn sections, that's extends beyond the basic arrangement played by the band itself). And the idea of the video was to parody that phenomenon, where the producer takes it upon himself (sometimes without the knowledge or permission of the band or performer he's theoretically working for) to add sweetener, and sometimes, you end up saying, "Gee, I wish I could hear what this song sounds like WITHOUT the orchestra, choir, etc".
If I'm not mistaken, the band sort of fell apart after that second album they did with Morse in the band, so he didn't really get the opportunity to stay longer. I think that was around the time that Morse got sick of "the business" and retired to become an airline pilot. That didn't last too long, but I remember readnig about it in Guitar Player. Can you imagine, you're working at an airport, and you know this guy, one of the pilots, you know he's a guitarist, you've heard him play, you know he's good but you're COMPLETELY UNAWARE that your coworker is one of the true bad asses of modern guitar?! That's what it was like for the people who worked with Steve! He was asked if anyone he worked with knew "who he was" (viz-a-viz, the Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band, Kansas, winning practically every "best guitarist poll in the world, etc). He said, not at first, but what happened was, this was around the time of that first Lynyrd Skynyrd reunion tour in 87, and when the Skynyrd tour came to whichever city it was that he was based out of at the time, he was invited to sit in on a couple songs. And apparently, there were people who worked at the airport in the audience, and their jaws dropped when they saw him onstage. Not because of his guitar playing, but because they had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that he had kind of stature where he could get on a stage with Skynyrd and jam with them.
