You are so kind to share your knowledge on where to find the prized Ellensburg blues. So many people will be loving this, including me haha! I just wish I had more chances to get out that way...someday😌
    Thanks for sharing! HH🐾

Thats still a big area to search, but there is lots of good stuff to find out there and that is not just the only area to find blues, but it narrows down where the best blues MAY have came from. I will be doing some other google earth videos of that area that people will find interesting. I guess my over 40 years of walking thru the woods aimlessly might help someone find some good stuff. Glad ya enjoyed!

Thank you for sharing this. You've done a lot of detective work in that area. May the E Blues be with you!

Excellent! GR8! I don't get much time to go rock hunting like I want so, providing locations close by is super appreciated. Having relative coordinates should up my chances of finding good stuff. I gotta tell ya... I get a little deflated when do finally get out but I'm not able to find a few good hunker's. This really helps. Thanks, a ton for taking the time to creating great videos.

Thank you. My friend lost his dead who was a rockhound. I think this summer we may go out looking.

Excellent! I have heard of this area and seen old maps of the valley. I am planning on giving this area a good survey and go out with friends for some rock hounding. I have a nice sample a friend gave me 20 years ago I never realized what a amazing gift it was.

Good luck on your hunt and just get out there and enjoy the area. Nice geodes on that area so keep your eyes open for them also. Happy Hunting!

@@OldGuyAdventures Thank you, I am teaching my neighbors son about geology. We all went out to St Helens FR25 this weekend, He found a nice piece of agate. I am an EWU graduate its great to see the state university videos explaining the how and why. I learned about this stone a very long time ago and never had the chance to search. I have a lot of interesting samples of things I brought back from SE Asia. Again, Thank you for the video I have some old maps of the area and its the valley.

Thank you for this. I plan on spending some time out in that area this summer so its nice to hear your thoughts on the area. I hope you find the motherload of Blues.

Blues are rare to find and frustrating to search for. If you find one good one, you can count it as a good year of searching. There are some very large geodes in that area, so you may not find what your looking for, but you will find something good. I have a couple trips planned over there this summer, have a couple remote areas I want to get into. Hope this helped in your search

@@OldGuyAdventures Have you found any? I would love to see a proper explanation of what exactly they are because I have seen a number of conflicting things online. Some people say "if it doesn't come from this exact spot its not a blue reguardless if it looks like one" I have seen photos of Blues that are clearly color corrected, and on and on. I feel like a lot of it comes from Facebook groups...

Yes I have found Ellensburg Blues and you can have arguments all day long with people who are experts on the subject. I lived in Ellensburg for 5 years. If you want to see good blues, go to the museum in Ellensburg and there is a very nice display. Last year I met a guy who was out rockhounding in the area that I just showed and he had found a Ellensburg Blue that was in the top 5 of any blue I have ever seen. The blues in the valley are placer deposits, they came from somewhere else.
Watch Nick Zentner CWU geologist youtube video, its very informative

Love your videos in and around the Teanaway area! You've certainly spend a lot of time there. Never fails to produce good material. Just did probably my last trip to the top of the first creek basalts today. Thanks for sharing this area with others. Plenty of material for all!

The Teanaway area is one of my favorites to rockhound. I have came across so many different finds in there. I imagine there is snow up on the top now and the ground is frozen, difficult to rockhound when its like that. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed

I absolutely love Google Earth , I used Google Earth to map out my 500 mile bike ride last summer and will be using it again this summer when I set off on my 600 mile ride . Nice to see a new video and I hope to see you hit the 500 subscriber soon. Best regards as always from Lloyd way up here in Ontario Canada.

Yes Google Earth is a great tool to figure out areas. This time of year I don't do any adventures, all streams are flooded and snow is deep up in the mountains. No reason to fight it. I spend a lot of time reviewing areas that I would like to get into. Thanks for watching!

Sorry been working all day and no internet where I am working. You go up the Reecer creek road and it turns into the 3500 FS road. Stay on it until you come to the 3rd road thats on the left. That will be the 3507 FS road. It will be badly paved and there will be a yellow gate at the start of the road. They will only close the gate during the winter.
