As a longer time colorist, I would advise against buying multiple books from the same artist at first. You will find that as you build your collection you will quickly have more books than time to color in them. I wish someone had given me that advice. My collection would be wider, as opposed to deep, and I would have spent less $ on books I ended up destashing, like Lost Ocean, because I thought I needed the whole collection.
I am also a long time colorist and I have several books from the same artist. So there really isn't anything wrong with it if you truly love them. I have a few from Johana Bashard because her books are just so lovel
I got all coloringbooks from JB and Kerby. That are my favorites. Altough not all coloringbooks from JB got my interest or first choice or I color in much. Lost ocean only when it is summer. My favorite one is Magical Worlds and Christmas. I also got from others, but JB and Kerby got many diverse pages so I’m not get borred. Last month I count my books. I got around 40 of them. When I buy a coloringbook, I buy witch theme or style I like. So that’s why I got more from the same Artists. Some books I bought, I doesn’t like after all and I give it away.
My evil twin Mewsli has bought me many colouring books and for some reason my postman insists on bringing sets of budget friendly pencils to my door. I do collect books by certain people. Some I regret , but I pass my regrets on to a friend , who will pass hers back to me ( unlike my sil who only shares opinions) . Im lucky enough now to be able to share things with grandkids. I think if children have access to good art supplies then they will carry on loving art and creating. ( its an ongoing project of mine with my grandkids. It seems to be working 😂😂😂) what Im trying to say is if you can justify buying then do so. I buy a lot in sales , or pick up free downloads from artists to try their work out. Thanks fot your enthusiasm. It makes a cold winters night in the north of England a lot nicer.❤
Ok, opinion. I am early 60s and mostly retired from parenting a LG family. Our dog has been gone for a year. Hubby works full time yet and we hike on the weekends. But my week days are long and quiet and our neighborhood is super quiet with no interaction. It used to be wonderful, with lots of interaction but it has changed. We have grand kids but some are out of town while others have thier own routine that are in town. We visit as much as we can. I found coloring in Feb and fell in love. I color everyday in between chores. I finish detail pictures because I work on them often. I fear I am coloring too much but i do love it. I do not want the stress of a job outside the home. Again I do my chores and cook simple meals. Thoughts? Can a person color too much.
Omg no! Never feel guilty for filling your days doing what you love! I truly believe that we need to spend our life having as much fun and experiencing as much joy as possible. As long as it fills your heart with joy and you're not pressuring yourself to colour than go full steam ahead 😅 I was feeling very lost in life for awhile and now that I've found colouring, I'm feeling a lot more at peace and fulfilled. I wish I had more time to colour! Colour as much as you want ❤
Same here and thanks. As a mom having to rethink my role in life I have truly found a love on coloring. I have all diff books for all diff moods. I have diff coloring media and change often. When I finish a picture (lots of Creative Haven) I can't wait to start another. Haha But I get my responsibilities in my life done. So not neglecting responsibility. I have had a very full role as mom and feel satisfied by that but now am finding creative side. Thank you for your kind response. 😊
@@ColoringNanna913 Dear @ColoringNanna913, Thank you so much for sharing your story with such openness and warmth-it truly touched my heart. First, let me say this: there is no such thing as “too much” of something that fills your days with joy, peace, and purpose. You’ve found a beautiful way to nurture your soul through coloring, and that is something to celebrate, not question. Coloring is such a magical activity. It combines mindfulness, creativity, and focus in a way that allows us to express emotions, connect with our inner selves, and even process thoughts we might not be fully aware of. By coloring every day, you’re creating a sanctuary-a safe, inspiring space where you can simply be. That’s such a gift to yourself. In Positive Psychology, one of the secrets to happiness is engaging in activities that bring us into a state of “flow.” Flow happens when time seems to melt away because we’re so immersed in what we’re doing. That’s exactly what coloring is for you: a doorway to flow, mindfulness, and quiet joy. It’s a way to recharge your spirit and reconnect with the vibrant, creative person inside you. And do you know what makes your story even more special? By embracing your love for coloring, you’re showing the world (and your family!) that it’s never too late to discover something that makes you happy. Your grandkids will see your passion and remember the importance of finding joy in life’s little things. Maybe one day they’ll sit beside you to color, creating precious memories together. I also had a thought while reading your story-have you ever considered sharing your creativity and passion through a UA-cam channel? It could be such a wonderful way to connect with others who share your love for coloring. Imagine how many people you could uplift by showing your beautiful creations, sharing your favorite tips, or talking about how coloring has enriched your life. You never know who might be inspired by your story to pick up their own pencils and discover the same happiness you’ve found. Even if it’s just for fun, it could add another layer of meaning and connection to your days. As for those quiet weekdays, think of them as a blank canvas, much like your coloring pages. They might feel empty at first glance, but with each activity you enjoy-whether it’s coloring, sharing your art, or even exploring new hobbies-you’re filling them with vibrant hues that reflect you. You’ve earned this season of peace after raising a large family, and it’s okay to savor it in your own way. Trust that your love for coloring is not a “waste” or “too much” but an act of self-care and creative expression. When you sit down to color, remember that you’re not just filling a page with color-you’re filling your life with meaning. Sending you so much love, admiration, and encouragement on this beautiful journey. You are living proof that happiness is an art we can create every single day. I'm 68. My inner justification fairy says you can never colour too much. However you choose to use colour ? If it makes you happy , then do it. I include anything that uses colour in this, crochet, knitting, painting, drawing on the outside path with pavement chalks with grandkids , just go for it. ❤
Oh yay. I am so happy you received the full set of Prismacolors. I hope you will come to use them often. You can purchase them individually. And yes, they do break. Mine break because they are constantly rolling off my desk onto the hardwood floor. I love the range of colors in this set and when using other brands, I am always looking for a color similar to Prisma's. You purchased a nice set of books too. I have a feeling you will soon be purchasing more. 😝
lovely video! congrats on your new purchases and gifts 😊. I have never had an issue with Prisma breakages! but I've had my set for years, circa 2017?! so I wonder if they just don't make them like they used to 😂 like everything else. Happy coloring!! 🖍🎨
So happy you got your very first Maria Trolle book and her best yet!! 🥰I’ve already coloured two pages and can see myself colouring every single page!! I’m also a fellow Aussie living in north Brisbane and would love Rita to do an Aussie book ❤ Prismas are my fav!! And love the Tgaal sharpener! It’s the only one I’ll use with my Prismas!! 😊 happy colouring 🤗
Happy belated birthday! 🎉 I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with your new supplies and books! I too love almost every page in Shooting Star. I’m hoping to color in it on our upcoming vacation…but still need to decide which pencils to bring! 😂 Enjoy your new goodies and thanks for sharing the link to your storefront!
What a wonderful selection of items you bought!!! Wow.....would love to see more colour alongs and definitely join you for some of them.....absolutely love your colouring style!!! 😊💐
I’ll definitely be doing some more colour alongs in the future! They do take me a while to film and edit but I will hopefully be able to do 1-2 a month 💕☺️
I also have the dahle 33 and I love it, but it's not very practical if you want to take your coloring books on a train ride or just take them with you if you go on vacation.
If you want an opaque paintpen you might want to look into molotow. Yes they are a little more expensive but refillable, for the long term way better! And they are sooooo nice compared to all the others i tried over the last 10 years🤗💕
love all your new supplies, you are bitten by the bug now for sure!! lol.. not sure if you know.. but your local Officeworks sell open stock Prisma's and also Eckersly art stores - they also sell several other pencil brands open stock, so you can pick up a few to try, , Im in Sydney, local Ayussie gal!
I have made shooting star my project book and I am planning to color it cover to cover . I love the paper and the illustrations are not too complicated.
With my broken prismas I heat up a wheat heat pack in the microwave and then wrap them in that until it cools, the wax melts a bit and they reform. I do this with all my broken ones and I swear by it. Also the prisma that kept breaking on me to start with was my chocolate one too, very frustrating but give the heat trick a go.
Could you be anymore adorable 🥰 New subscriber and loving your content so far. My favorite pencils right now are the Arttxx. I love the quality and the container is perfect. Might need a nice rubber band for travel.

I will definitely be looking into getting an open stock version of the chocolate pencil 😅 And yes I definitely think I have the colouring book bug ✨🤩

So many fun new goodies to play with! I might have to follow your footsteps and purchase all three Rita Berman travel books, I just can't choose
I highly recommend! I definitely struggle with needing the full set of anything 😅
The tgal won't sharpen Brutfuners, and it wrecks Prismas. I bought a Dahle 33 with gift money, and it is brilliant for both brands.
I also have the dahle 33 and I love it, but it's not very practical if you want to take your coloring books on a train ride or just take them with you if you go on vacation.
Seconded! Exact same thing happen to me.
@@katrin428Don't you mean the Dahle 133 instead of the Dahle 33 since the Dahle 33 doesn't exist at all?

Yes, sorry I was writing quickly and got it wrong. Yes, also not very travel friendly but good for at home.

I just purchased a 12 pack of Prisma botanical colored pencils in addition to a 12 pack of original colors. I love the combination
That is so exciting!! I didn’t even know they had a botanical set 😍🌸💕
I really like the enchanted earth book 😌
It’s definitely one of my favourites in my collection 😍✨

I was wondering why your brown was shorter with the Rita Berman color along video! And yes the lettering is a French thing.
Yes unfortunately the brown did not fair well 😅
Brutfuners lay down a dream in Maria Trolle books. She is one of my fav illustrators 😊
