I loved that you didn't fell the need to add music to the shoots of Mari climbing. It made it easier to appreciate the climb and her concentration on the movement.
As someone who is trying to break into trad I really appreciate you not cutting out Mari placing her protection. It's always helpful to see I thought out placement on hard climbing.
Very cool to see an old school video like this...I love watching Mari climb and hearing her thought process and her climbing process through her commentary was just absolutely brilliant! Gorgeous!
Hey Pete, hey Tom, I have never watched proper jamming tutorials and simply taken in your instructions when you explained the simplest techniques to your cellar guests or on other occasions. I always thought jamming was extremely painful. In the last couple of months I have had problems that required jamming more frequently and finally realized, that you just want to maximize the contact surface between your skin and the crack, play around with the angles, try thumbs up/down and when in doubt go higher or DEEPER. Voila, pain reduced to bearable levels and today I sent a years long project that had two cracks. Thank you for your content!!
The narration here from Mari was top notch. The climbing even better. Lovely video. Fluid. Just wondeful stuff. Great video. Edit: "I'm not gonna show any of this" 😏
Amazing scenery, awsome climb & topping out (?) And go hard blood on the face. Always love watching a Mari Salvasen video. Yes to home made bread and butter, staple diet of youth 😂 👍
There’s something to be said about climbing outdoors that I can’t exactly put into words. This last year has left me uninspired and uninterested. There’s a cold emptiness the rocks seem to exude that I hate. I appreciate the video. A real inspiration. Mari, a phenom. Thanks, Boyz!
i just got into crack climbing and oh my is it fun. kinda unfortunate that my gym only has one route for crack, but i think it's because there's not many crack climbs in bodø
Congrats on the clinb! Good to see you climb together. Videos with Mari have really nice pace and atmosphere :) How did you two meet by the way? Such a great duo.
@@WideBoyz I thought 'pinkpoint' was a term used back in the day when 'redpoint' was still used to refer to someone climbing a sport route after practice but placing all the quickdraws on the lead. Pinkpoint then referring to an ascent with quickdraws already in place. If you climb a trad route with all the gear already in place then the route grade doesn't change - you have just done it in an easier way. And that's fine.

Mari is hypnotic to watch. Such an elegant climber
++you said it best!
Yes.
Amen

I love the sound of the wind, the heavy breathing and the clinking of metal on rock and the clip of the draws. It transports me to the rock.
She's very impressive.
@@Hymirthyeah definitely, you nailed it there.

„I‘m not gonna show this“ 😂
I love the vids with Mari, wish there were more. Love the silence, makes me feel like I am there.

Mari inspired me to try trad climbing... Now I have a tiny bit of understanding how mentally strong she is, pushing hard on such exposed climb.
thats great to hear :)
Wondeful stuff!
Mari is such a tenacious and graceful climber. I always get inspired watching her send!
Very nice video! Especially liked Mari's voiceover. Also, the ending 🤣(actually refreshing to hear!)

Congrats Mari. This was a great video. Really inspiring!
Mari is a true inspiration and a joy to watch keep it going and I think she deserves the title of wide :)

So freaking inspiring ✨

Ha, I could really feel what Mari was feeling in a lot of these shots. Sick send, great video
Really enjoyed this, it made me feel like I was climbing with her.
"...and then the difficulties continue at the top." 😂 Such great commentary on a brilliant climb. Belting stuff...well done Mari.
Epic movie again, respect!
It´s almost science to manage the route! and a whole lotta work to send it! amazing!

Starting to think this legend is a keeper, Pete.
Yeyy new video :)

Tinder, probably
Mari making it look easy as usual!
“Squirtly feet” is definitely going in my climbing vocabulary
I think she's saying "scrittly feet," as in, the footholds are a like cat litter
@@princenabby1 what? That’s even better

Wow well done Mari
beautiful climb
Mari - du er helt rå! 🙂
Good effort, Mari!
Still can't find a good effort t-shirt in the Wideboyz shop 😉😂
@@dave_h_8742 Definitely missing!

She is so quiet and cat-like. I am grunting and cussing.
also like a cat...
mari's english accent sways into firm pete territory every once in a while.
Mega
cast my over at Swagsville Feast when I was there, haha
Still the widest boy.
If you pre-place trad gear, is the climb then considered a sport route with typical sport grading?
It's called Pinkpointing, and typically still gets given the grade it was on trad

Yeah, first comment. I love you wide boyz!
Ooohhh YYAAAAAAAAA!!
Blimey
Some of those thumbs-down jams look painful to the wrists. Is this crack standard or a Mari special?
This is standard technique. Thumbs down hand jams are very common
Pete looks different in his green jacket
Amazing girl :)
for a second i thought mari is climbing in socks and sandals.. then i remembered she's not from germany :')
that was EPIC!
