I was there several times with my parents at my childhood. Staying close at Saint Agnes with a good old friend of my grandfather. His small hotel named "La Cigalle". Beautiful memories ❤
It is beautiful! Just be aware: there’s the lemon festival from Feb. 17 to March 3 - it’s extra fun to visit, but extremely crowded when there are the parades (Sundays and Thursday evenings, if we’re not mistaken)
Very nice video! We just come back from a tour in Cote d'Azur and Provence and I programmed all the stops after having seen lots of your useful videos! Thank you so much, your tips and explanations are very clear!
Is there any sort of tour of the Alps, either by train or bus, that runs from Menton? In Rick Steves’ guide to Nice, he mentions a day trip into the Alps as something to do from Nice. Unfortunately, because of our late decision to make this trip and availability of hotel reservations, we are spending several more days in Menton than in Nice so we would have a free day to go north to see the Alps from Menton. Thank you for making this very nice video of Menton. The Rick Steve’s’ guide to Nice and the French Riviera has only two pages on Menton so I figured it was a small village, not a city of 30,000.
The beautiful, beautiful train ride with the Train des Merveilles to Tende (that we talk about in the Menton video) unfortunately starts in Nice. There is, however, another connection going from Menton to Tende (nice village in the mountains) - via Ventimiglia, Italy. Never used it, but we’re pretty sure it’s worth going as well. (You have to change trains in Ventimiglia). 1 way ticket 19,20 € (according to TER SNCF website)
Hi, Just returned from Provence. My advice to you go to Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Only for this exubition you can travel from USA. There exubition Mone , 150 paint his works from all museums in the world. Its great present been for us. My travel trip: JFK- Nice, Vence, Moguins, Biot, Cagne-sur-mer, Nice, Monaco, Villefranche-Sur-Mer, Beausoleil, Geniova, Milan, Menaggio, Varenna, Lugano, Lokarno, rent car in airport Nice, 2 hotels in Beausoleil , 7- 11, and Lugano 11 - 16 . Village near Aix much more interesting for me.
iFf you want to do a trail not very well known but well worth doing is as follows.Take the Chem du Vallonet, go past the stadium and find the small path next to the residence LE DERI on the left. take the path chem de menton. Follow the trail and after the long hike you will find the old village of ROQUEBRUNE CAP MARTIN with views over monaco
Loving your videos, and so interesting as I will be in Nice in early September. May I ask who makes the white sleeveless top Anja is wearing? I hope to purchase one like it when I am there. Thanks so much, and for the informative videos.
Thank you! 🙏😊 Anja buys her tops often at Zara’s, but this particular one is many years old, so you won’t find it any more 😣. Have a great trip in September!
Your travel tip video is a treasure trove of wisdom for rookies like me. Your personal touch sets it apart. Oh, and before I forget, have you heard about the v4 Bento Bag by NomadLane? It's creating quite a buzz among travelers.
Can’t disagree 😉, especially the old towns of Nice, Menton and Grasse look a lot alike (Italian), and the villages in this region definitely are similarly pretty, Provençal.
It should still be nice and warm (not as hot as right now), but it can be a lot more unstable too, so it could rain and be cloudy, but it can just as well be sunny all the time. Bring a sweater or jacket for the evenings. The sea should still be fine for a swim.
Why? I’m thinking of moving there..not sure. It’s either Antibes or menton..I do like being next to Italy though ..is ventimiglei ( spelling ..sorry) nice or is it dirty
Hi! Would you have suggested other things to do in Menton? Please let us know!
Menton for the winter. (That microclimate!) Normandy for the summer. (Calvados and galettes!) Voilà, perfection!
Couldn’t agree more 😊
Très belle ville nous allons souvent en vacances 😊
very good showcasing of Menton
Thank you! 😊

Yes a great review of menton, do not forget the famous resto at cap Martin, le pirate used in past years by many famous people
Thank you - that’s indeed a place we didn‘t know!
We're going in April and I'm very excited! Thanks for the tips.
You’re very welcome, have a great trip 😊
Oh wow, I am in Nice at the moment on holiday. Menton looks amazing! Thank you ladies ❤

@@rivierago Thank you so much! I was planning to go today to avoid the Nice Carnaval, so will check when Menton’s parades are. Thanks so much
Perfect!!!!! Thank you, with love, from New Jersey, USA

Bonjour, je me demande la température en Hiver? Est-ce que c'est possible d'y aller dans les saisons plus froides. Est-ce une destination soleil ?

OMG, other best places to visit after your video! Marvellous views and useful clues! Counting days till October, merci beaucoup et à bientôt !😊
Thank you so much 🙏😊! We’ve done several videos about places on the Côte d’Azur similar to this one… Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco…
We went today with my husband, enjoyed much 🍷😍
Happy to hear! 🤩👍
I am staying in Grasse 45 miles away after watching your videos. All I can say is I am now going to drive to Menton tomorrow 🙂
Do so! It’s a beauty - hopefully the weather stays pleasant… 🫣☀️
Excellent video, thank you!

Thank you!!! We’ll have a look at the bag 😉
After a few towns they then started to all look the same. 😁
Can’t disagree 😉, especially the old towns of Nice, Menton and Grasse look a lot alike (Italian), and the villages in this region definitely are similarly pretty, Provençal.
Grasse is like a Menton where everything has gone wrong. I do not recommend going on Grasse alone on the evening. Menton is a looot safer.
How will the weather be in Nice in last of September and 1st week of Oct?
It should still be nice and warm (not as hot as right now), but it can be a lot more unstable too, so it could rain and be cloudy, but it can just as well be sunny all the time. Bring a sweater or jacket for the evenings. The sea should still be fine for a swim.

Love your videos, but emphasis on most words makes it difficult for the ears to finish all, best intro though
I have a question about going to Italy on foot. Is there a border control when you go or when you go back to Menton?
Hi! There wasn’t any border control when we walked by, and since they are both countries of the European Union there shouldn’t be!
👍😊
Parler francais on est en france❤
Heureusement qu’on peut cliquer sur « traduire » 😊😉
welll ,bye,
Bye?
Uh-oh, Menton, Henriks favorite… don‘t mention it…. mmmmm-ttttttt😂
It could easily be Italy. Easy to forget that it _wasn’t_ actually part of France until as late as 1860!
Yes! Same goes for Nice, even
@@rivierago 👍
Im living on Menton. It's interesting place for 5-10 days. Expensive and boring place to live.
Depending on what you’re looking for, you may certainly be right, it’s a really small town after all 😉
Which is the best place in cote d azur to stay longer? I plan to travel in February from scandinavia
@@GraineFaveurprobably Nice. Certainly not Marseille, it's a horrible city with a lot of crime.
