Kill the stupid music. Otherwise good vid.
Not even cleaning the brake pads spots in brake caliper carrier? Wire brush IT, etc?
I’m so glad that you mentioned that you can take the rotor off by hitting it with a hammer I was nervous lol
Make sure you don’t hit it on the smooth part of the rotor. Just the center to break the rust free then it should slide right off!
@@AutomotiveWeekly extremely thankful for the reply!!
What ????? No bleeding of the lines???? Always!!!!! ALWAYS bleed your brakes when you change the pads and when you push the pistons on the calliper back in it can cause air bubbles and sponging of the brakes.
What is the clamp for?…..
To provide clearance for the new pads
I think it's safer to use a rubber mallet as the hammer Unless you're tossing the rotors away
How do you have drum brakes? I have disc in the rear!
It is disk brakes but the hand brake controls the drums inside the disks. You can see us removing the calipers in the video. This is pretty common with cars with caliper brakes. 👍
What is happening with the c-clamp?
Yeah, that was my question as well
they are using the c-clamp to compress the caliper piston back in. the new brake pads will be thicker and the disc may not fit if you dont compress the piston.
Yo did u Crack open the reservoir cap?? It's a very crucial step I didn't see you do it.
what reservoir cap? why is this crucial?
@@dobz the brake fluid reservoir cap. It's important to relieve pressure and keep an eye out for overflowing fluid when pressing the caliper pistons inward for the new thicker pads. As well as not creating vacuum while pumping the brakes, so everything is set nice and good. Your video was so helpful for me brotha, we can all learn from eachother.
@@dannygarcia511 not my video, I'm just doing research! Thanks for explaining Danny, and thanks Automotive Weekly for this super helpful video
Where are the jack points? I see people put it on the rear diff yikes looks painful. On the front, where do u put the Jack stands?
What size bolt did you guys use to push to rear rotor off?
want to know too 😢
Do not ever pad slap ur car always do rotors when you do pads
dang took you the whole night to replace it? At Toyota, they can finish it in 2 hours.
