It's best to keep your expectations low whenever you hear things like "special news" from jp media. They tend to hype up things to absurd degrees and then it's just things like an artbook or merch

official jujutsu kaisen anthology will be sufficient
JJK2 would probably be a disaster. The entire series was written with Shinjuku Showdown in mind. Gojo and Sukuna being the strongest, and the ultimate battle of selfish isolation vs. selfless companionship, those things have run their course. There is nothing left. Sure, there are plot details left on the table, but they're all MONUMENTALLY less important than what we did get in the final arc. We didn't learn about Kenjaku's cursed technique? So what? Are we going to get an entire manga dedicated to this single character's single ability, when said character is basically just on an equal power level to the current cast? What new conflicts will we introduce? Miraculously, the strongest curse ever just appears, because it can? And it's stronger than Sukuna? And somehow an entire plot forms around it? The Jujutsu world is so small, we've basically seen all of it. There's no more story to tell. Only little facts and bits that could be put in a guidebook.

@@1607Adi_Manz Jjk ending sucks. It was rushed and multiple plot points where either ignored or resolved in a few panels. How he handled JJK is probably going to effect Gege's career in manga for years to come.

I for one, am ecstatic for this announcement bcuz I wasn’t even hoping for a “jjk2” or shipudden. The way I think it’ll play out is that the final ch will be about the trio (Yuji/Megumi/Nobara), their final mission, & whatever closure Gege has for them.
Then his “special ch” after the final will be the true epilogue, akin to how jjk0 was a prologue of sorts. I think the special ch will mainly be about Yuta, seeing how he was the OG protagonist before Gege’s editor insisted for him to make jjk take place in a school to be more shounen-friendly. Also, for my shippers out there, Yuta/Maki has been romantically teased by Gege for a long time now, and the major theme for Yuta’s character is love. Think you can connect the dots for that one.

Who said it’s gonna start instantly? Gege may just announce sequel is in the works and start publishing it like 1-2 years later (kinda similar what happened to CSM)
He could do that to finally get some well rest instead of keeping publishing new chapters almost weekly

@@1607Adi_Manz So, I guess spreading misinformation is okay as long as it is to feed their families? I just dislike when people willingly spread misinformation that MAY or MAY NOT be true. Then fans of their channel believe it. Then it does not happen and they are calling the manga trash. Most of the dislike from JJK's ending came from things like this. People act like we were promised things like a Heian Era because so many people and UA-camrs talked as if it HAD to happen. When it was never promised. It would have been NICE but it was never necessary.
We should just enjoy what we have left. If there is a Pt. 2 then we'll find out next week..

The main reason why I dont think it's ending-ending is because what did Megumi and Nobara do in the entire manga? They're 2 of the main team and they disappeared for the majority of the series lol That doesn't make sense to me narratively speaking, and even Yugi didn't really surpassed Gojo and just barely got his domain expansion, it definitely feels incomplete, for something like Demon Slayer for example it makes sense to end it they way it did but not for JJK

However, if Yuji does have students, it wouldn't have the same feel as Yuji. Yuji may not be a normal kid, but lived a normal life. I liked Yuji so much since you could empathize with him. Just a person with a normal life brought into an abnormal world.
Although im open to see the possibilities. Just hoping GeGe doesnt fuck up Yuji's cut like what happened to Naruto
