True. I had badmotorfinger first at like 10 yo in 95, about when superunknown came up, and I loved that and down on the upside as well. But just in the last few years I finally gave ultramega ok and louder than love (which is now one of my favorites) I didn't expect their first couple albums to be as great as they are
Chris, Kim, Hiro and Matt; Did the whole Soundgarden thing back to front... Thought Badmotorfinger was a debut album for a few years until a few years later, wow did they change and evolve over the years... Ben is cool, magnificent stage presence. Seen images of Matt recently and the man looks haunted by Chris' death. Never seem to tire of this band!
@@Faks.09 Sure...I just missed some more badass stage presence in Soundgarden (especially talking about their earlier days). I mean Chris was good but Kim and Ben (and also Hiro) were too static for me. Jason was a different animal on stage (watch Soundgarden's concert in Germany, Philipshalle, Düsseldorf, 1990).
seriously...thank you for doing this. I grabbed 2 copies on vinyl and they came a couple of days back...but this album is (and has been) so great...this new mix sounds KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wonder what this album would’ve sounded like if they recorded it “right” in their eyes, recording with someone familiar to the Seattle scene around the time
This shit was otherworldly when it came out...people didn’t know what to do...Soundgarden was 1 of a few bands who was on both 120 Minutes & Headbangers Ball...the Cult was another one of those bands
what the.. I was thinking I could instantly prove you wrong with a quick search but nope. Why would SG avoid playing this song live? Mood for Trouble sounds like it's more difficult to play, but they play that live.
i would love to know how they decided this was a good topic to write a song about. it's so outta left field, but imo they wound up with the best lyrics on the album here
My interpretation was a song about how someone could basically ignore the evil they were part of and yet still live with themselves .. being a deliverer(driver ) for the nazis and thinking you were somehow doing “what you should” is pretty fucking insane
I don't care if it takes some time I'm gonna make it right I'm gonna make it right Turn the head three hundred and sixty degrees Bite the hand that feeds I don't care if it tasted like Poisson Rip the legs from the thighs Feed the prison, open the eyes I don't care if it tastes like poison I'm gonna feed the prison, feed the prison Color in the lakes of red Pile of bones for my bed I'm gonna take some time, I'm gonna take some time [mystery scream] Feed the prison Not a tear will be shed The only color is red, red I don't care if it takes some time I'm gonna make it right, I'm gonna make it right Turn the head three hundred and sixty degrees Bite the hand that feeds I don't care if it tastes like poison Feed the prison and open the eyes Not a tear will be shed The only color is red I don't care if it tastes like poison I'm gonna feed the prison I'm gonna feed the prison I'm gonna feed it
I love how Soundgarden had so many obscure songs. There are a ton of hidden gems in the Soundgarden catalog...
obscure does not do justice to a writer and not a disadvantaged one like Chris and others ..... from Seattle ...
i agree
and people think that Black Hole Sun can define what Soundgarden is😂😂

Early Soundgarden discography is so f*cking tasty. Sub Pop at its zenith.

Wasn’t Scott Sundquist a member?
@@elephystry Yes, until he left, & they snagged Matt Cameron from Skin Yard...
The SG bassist that had the best "stage presence" by far was Jason Everman...way better than Hiro & Ben.
@@MLCrow Maybe, but Ben's songwriting is brilliant

I love you sub pop
And I love you, Jake Coulta
My favorite SG song. I don't believe they ever played it live.

@@motorologist it's the title that makes the song never been played live
Nice to hear this re-released to us.
Love Soundgarden!
Cheers from Australia 🤙
que pedazo de tema !!!

edit: for those who don't understand, Kim Thayil said this song was about "cutting up Nazis and making stew out of them".

How is it any more "out of left field" of a topic than spoon man or a black hole sun.
Amazing album. Best one IMO
1:39 such an infectious riff
I don't care if it takes some time
I'm gonna make it right
I'm gonna make it right
Turn the head three hundred and sixty degrees
Bite the hand that feeds
I don't care if it tasted like Poisson
Rip the legs from the thighs
Feed the prison, open the eyes
I don't care if it tastes like poison
I'm gonna feed the prison, feed the prison
Color in the lakes of red
Pile of bones for my bed
I'm gonna take some time, I'm gonna take some time
[mystery scream]
Feed the prison
Not a tear will be shed
The only color is red, red
I don't care if it takes some time
I'm gonna make it right, I'm gonna make it right
Turn the head three hundred and sixty degrees
Bite the hand that feeds
I don't care if it tastes like poison
Feed the prison and open the eyes
Not a tear will be shed
The only color is red
I don't care if it tastes like poison
I'm gonna feed the prison
I'm gonna feed the prison
I'm gonna feed it
A don't give a fuck if it tastes like poison
Nice,,,
I dont care if it taste like poison ~
This came out on SST...Greg Ginn's label

Based lyrics
Nazis probably taste like crap tho because of how rotten they are.
Motorista gilson
I think this song is about the music industries' role in human trafficking. Hence biting the hand that fed him, and feeding the prisons.
Im pretty sure this song is actually about taking out nazis and turning them into stew! Chris mentioned it somewhere if i remember correctly
🙏❤️🇺🇸

Two thirds.

SubPop Record...?? Really???
I don't believe...
This album under SST Records..not sub pop
What is the driver of the Nazi? Oh yeah....
Context? I'm trying to canvas SGs discography and I'm not sure why this song is named this
