Great backdrop video time to change mine!! It’s been up for 15 years. I took your advice and Bill answered me the next day thanks I am 75 years old and I am still learning new tricks. Keep them coming !!!
Great video, Chris! Installing a backdrop that size is a job and a half. What a great achievement! The colouring is so deep and rich that you really feel like your in an outdoor scene. It really pops! It'll enhance the video quality 100%!
Chris, that looks great. William is a very helpful guy and connects with you very quickly. I have touch base with him and look forward to working with him.
I'll tell you what Chris, I envy your carpentry skills. First you had to think of what contraption you wanted to create and then you actually created it. That's talent! Backdrops make a huge transformation and really take a layout to another dimension. You also blended the bottom of the backdrop well. Do you plan to cut the tops of the old backdrop where the skies do not match or perhaps do a paint match up? I think that would make a huge difference. Lastly, as I was looking at how your town dead ends up under the overpass I got an idea. Maybe you could cut a hole in the rockwork, paint it black and add a car or two with headlights in the tunnel. That way the road doesn't just dead end. I'm in the process of doing something like that. Just a suggestion man. Keep up the good work. I get very inspired when I see such good work being made on a layout like yours. Congratulations.
Thanks for the feedback! I plan to color match or frame out the backdrop with wood trim. This creates an optical trick will stop the eyes from traveling beyond the image itself. I like that idea for the road and may give it a try!
Great video. Thanks for the process and ideas. Looks like the takeaway is "Try to do the backdrop first"? I know - hard to do. Sequence is critical in this endeavor. :)
Hi Chris your backdrop looks great 👍 I used the same company for my winter mountain scene I used heavy duty Velcro which lets you adjust it as you go and it has been up for 2 years so far so good
Wow that's an amazing backdrop. Great quality. I'm keeping them in mind. Also I'm very impressed that you did that all by yourself. You should be proud of yourself, especially since it was after your scenery was installed. You had all the challenges against you and you pulled it off 👍🤜
Hello Chris Victor from New Jersey. I'm a carpenter and you have a nicer wood shop than I do were you a carpenter before or are you still a carpenter now that's a little more extravagant than a homeowner would normally have just picking your brain on that one
Chris, your work is outstanding, I noticed in one of your previous videos you were at Henning’s in Lansdale, I live in the Fort Washington area and was wondering if you have a service where you make visits to other locations to offer advice on what people can do to further improve their layouts. I have an O Scale layout approximately 16’ x 7’ that is about 3/4 of the way or more complete.
Euge, Thanks for the positive feedback! Yes, I made the trip to Henning's after connecting with Harry here on UA-cam. I haven't set up a consulting business or anything, but you're not the first person to reach out. Shoot me an email (listed under the "about" section of my channel), and we can connect.

Great work w/the backdrop. That roll-up idea is really clever and practical.
Like the backdrops and I like the Flyers logos in the wood shop
Thanks!
Looking good that is something I will do eventually
Thank you for sharing. You have very realistic scenery and this is a great new addition. Lionel should use your layout for their catalog photo shoots.
Thank you!
Looks awesome Chris. Good work

Those are some really nice backdrops Chris. Raising the bar on realism for sure.
Thank you!

awesome!1
Love the new backdrop where is the scenery from or what are you trying to perceive with that or does it mean nothing it's just trees and mountains
