my stick is doing this thing where lighning triggers on all of the fire tick damage aswell, I also wanted to give a cooldown so it could be used in pvp, any idea how?
Good help but How do you customize it like for example instead of lightning scoreboard its a different one that has a different setting(like deathcount or dummy)
Very helpful command, but the weird thing is, whenever I hold the lightning rod, every player summons lightning when they hit a mob. Therefore, If i try to battle my friend with it and I am holding it, they can hit me to strike me with lightining, and they use just their fists. Anyone know why?

2nd command block - scoreboard obectives add lightning minecraft.custom:minecraft.damage_dealt
3rd command block - scoreboard players reset @a[scores={lightning=1..}] lightning

Works pretty well, it does feel like after the 1st hit, there is an amount of time where the lightning wont strike again tho

I USED IT IN MY SERVER AND IT BURNED DOWN A FOREST THAT I DIDNT EVEN HIT,YOU SCAMMED ME
Tried this on a server and found out it apparently strikes all entities of a certain type regardless of distance.

I Went ahead and edited the command block and with a few simple changes I turned the lightning Stick into a TNT Cart Stick
