Some notes: 1. Put a tick delay to mitigate lag 2. For the 2nd tip, you can use unless entity @a[r=5] so that the mobs will stop following the path when a player is near 3. It would be pretty funny to make the pig do that bat animation once in a blue moon to gaslight a poor player (prob also tp itself to look away from a nearby player too)
