  • A quick review of my top-handle climbing saw. It is a budget saw but of a decent quality so I wanted to make a quick review for anyone that is in the market to buy one of these says but doesn't want to spend a huge amount of cash.

The most important rule of the woodcutter: NEVER, NEVER cut with the chainsaw with the position of the body in the direction of the blade. The body must be positioned to the side of chainsaw, regardless of how difficult it will be for you to work in that position ,because in the case of an accidental kickback, EVERYTHING WILL BE BAD. If you canot observe this decisive rule just limit yourself to technical explanations, not practical ones.In your video, the position of the chainsaw must be on the right side of the body, not between the legs.Sorry for being too direct but working with a chainsaw is not a game and must be treated seriously and also I live in a forest mountain area where many forest accidents have happened which could be avoided if a few minimal rules were followed and I also believe that content creators contribute decisively to the formation of a work style for followers.Never say that this can't happen to me, the kickback is so unpredictable and it has happened to people with decades of work behind them and believe me it can only be avoided by a correct working position.Thank you for your guidance!

hey mate, just wanting to find out if you think that saw would last for a year or two of occasional trimming around the house as the stihls are currently out of my price range?

Hi Bud! Yes for occasional trimming it would be perfect and would most likely last way over a year. I've had it for over 2 months now and use it almost everyday both at home and at work and it still hasn't let me down. Just make sure you get it tuned properly and always use the right fuel to oil mixture and it shouldn't bring you any problems. Hope this helps!

My saw will run but will not accelerate ( run with power ) I only used it a dozen times 3 years ago , now its struggling.
    1. Can I change the fuel filter and where is it,
2, Can I change the air filter and is it the one you showed.

There are three adjustment screws on the side - two for air/fuel ratio and one flat head for idle speed

Jame, the high / low isn't adjustable on this sterwins & third screw needs a special tool for adjusting, i really thought he would say something about the carburetor because these saws do tend to dank down when revved up, really badly uninformative video

Are you using the correct oil to fuel ratio? In the cheaper saws it's good to mix in a little more oil to keep it lubricated. I generally use 40:1 with this one. I also found that if you adjust the carb well, it's an okay saw.

And yes, it is hard to start sometimes when warm...but as I say below once I adjusted the carb, it got a bit better.
