This game is a clone of a Mac/PC game called "Diamonds", which was released way back in 1992 by Varcon Systems.
Though it's levels never got as big as these levels do starting from Level 4, nor did it have the "Ball" blocks that gave 1UPS or the enemy black balls from Level 5.

There's another clone of that game on the GBA and DS called M&M's Break 'Em, where you're an M&M for some reason. Other than boss fights being added, it's like the original, but on the GBA.

Plus the oversight that if you hit a paint brick before you destroy all the green bricks, you softlock yourself from beating the stage.

At least the music is nice. Fun fact: the music for the even number stages was composed by the same guy who did Toejam & Earl music.

You know the game sucks when not even a TAS can beat the final level. Even then, it's probably going to another "Congratulations" screen.
