One story about Bugsy Siegel and the money problems with the Flamingo Casino is that Las Vegas building contractor Del Webb skimmed as much money as he could get his hands on. The Mob wasn’t as well established in Las Vegas at the time as they would later, and Bugsy didn’t know anything about construction. So Webb took advantage of the situation for what it was. They put the hit on the wrong guy; it should’ve been Del Webb who continued to weasel his way with The Mob for years and made his own fortune in the process.
@@dionruffin3996 You are correct. Bugsy probably should’ve done something about Del Webb early on and maybe he would’ve never gotten into trouble. But he got outplayed by Webb, who, according to what somebody told me, was a crook himself.
Brilliant insight. Las Vegas was a boutique side-line to the international interests held by underworld principals in construction and finance. Del Webb took pains to remain current in his debts and to maintain a 'low-profile'.
@@douglassauvageau7262 I agree. Back in the day the town was nothing more than a damp spot in the middle of the desert where the locals in power got away with just about anything they wanted. I think the one character in the movie Casino, the older gent in the suit and cowboy hat, was an amalgamation of several IRL Vegas locals who had their own rackets going for decades. And he was telling Ace Rothstein the way it was - don’t mess with us and our game and we won’t mess with you. I knew somebody who grew up in Las Vegas and ran their own little hustles, but they were pretty small so they never got into any trouble. But they said back in the day when The Mob was in town, you could walk down any street and have a wad of cash in your pocket, and you were totally safe because of who was in charge back then. Those were the days.
@@RReese08 Las Vegas is the stuff of dime-store-novels. The deep-reach of 'sub-rosa-finance' would make for boring reading (watching). Peppino Impastato, General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, Piersanti Mattarella (brother of the current President of the Italian Republic), Giovanni Falcone, Paolo Borsellino, State officials and all the Innocent victims of the mafia in total 1013. Sam Giancana of Chicago should have been on the list. What also didn't help Castellano is that he wanted to go after Gotti for his suspension of him dealing heroin despite the fact he let the Sicilian faction deal it.
My wife grew up in a Chicago suburb that had lot's of Mafi button men. It was the safest place to be. No body fu(ked with Mafi where they lived. I think it's the way it should be. Now you have to fight the crooks and the police to be safe.

Fun Fact: George “Bugs" Moran was supposed to be killed in the St. Valetine’s Day massacre but by chance, he was outside the warehouse when it all went down. When he learned of the massacre, however, he said: “Only Capone kills like that."
Please do a video on the top 10 most well now mob/ mafia groups be sure to include the Sicilian/ Italian Mob and the Russian Mob also include the Yakuza and the Latin American Drug Cartels
I mean the biggest one is Phil Leotardo hit. After 20 years in the can and becoming a prominent kid as a New York Boss, he got shot in the head. Such a shame too, he wanted an open casket for his funeral, but he compromised and got a close one due to his head being crushed by a car.
My mom likes to tell me that in the neighborhood she grew up one of her friend's father was a bookie for the mob, but he was skimming off the top and when he went to his car one morning it blew up.
Nah…I highly doubt it… it wildly acceptable by most mob historians than Frankie Carbo, who later became a boxing promoter, did the hit on Bugsy.. I’ve pretty educated in mob history and I’ve never heard that rumor you mentioned even once
I would have put Danny Greene on this list. After all his murder brought down many powerful crime bosses, and was the inspiration for the book Kill the Irish man.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I can’t watch this with this music behind it. This is a mafia video and you got Viagra ad music behind it 😂
The 3 capos murder while not as we’ll known as the others…was a significant killing in mob history
Abducting a 12yr old kid and killing him after 2 years imprisonment is evil
Yes these are the same guys that blew up a bridge full of people to kill one man. I don't see how people can idolize organized crime.

The Mob is pretty basic we gave you the money so you messed up

Quite the soundtrack given the subject of the video 😂
WatchMojo sure likes talking about assassins and the mafia lately
Viewers suggest video ideas on their website
What else fo you want them to talk about?
You mad?
Would you rather they do top ten on bird watching or perhaps most valuable stamps?
Organized crime is intriguing. And that is why I am here.

Salvatore Leone
Sonny Forelli
Dominick DeCocco
Antonio Margheretti
Just to add a few notable murders; Angelo Bruno, The Three Capos Murder, Joseph Colombo, Joe Gallo, Sam Giancana
yet they include tommy desimone who wasnt even a made man.

Leaving Danny Greene off the list was a big one to miss. His death single handedly crippled the cleveland mob

Machine gun delivery, of the narrative- I doing my head in, I can't keep up..
What about Tony Spilotro (Who Pesci played in Casino.)?
Giuseppe story is just sad. Thought the mafia usually kept kids out of the Bussines. Classic case of the sins of the farther 😢

I give WatchMojo for this list
My dad used to get his hair cut at the barbershop in the Park Sheraton Hotel.
Forgot to put the jfk assasinayion
Hi WatchMojo.
What happened to the original video
Angelo Bruno probably would have made more sense to have on this list than the Blackfriars
The music and the subject doesn’t relate
5.- Joey Zasa
4.- E. Barzini
3.- Moe Green
2.-Sonny C.
1.- Fredo C.
Best on the list would be Albert Anastasia for me.
I thought from the thumbnail that the mafia killed Jack Kelly.
Watchmojo letting us all know who the real gangster around here is, forcing us to watch multiple mafia videos 😂

Okay the tone of this is weird are we just numb to gang violence or what this is the happiest music ever to a. video about people being assassinated
