Love my ML-1, it's my go-to vocal mic. I also have a second one and have learned they make excellent drum overheads. Stoked the add-ons will be in the Complete Access now, I'm upgrading to a computer that can finally handle the last couple years worth of Slate offerings, so I'll finally be able to get the U87s. ML-2 is also an awesome mic on drums and guitars.
I was almost going to finally pull the trigger until I realized it doesn't come with all the mic emulations. Having them for 1 month does nothing for me. Is there a full bundle you can buy so that you own all of the mic emulations when you buy the microphone. Maybe on Black Friday. I guess I have to look into what it comes with and how much the mic packs are. There are few I heard on your acoustic guitar that will absolutely striking compared to the others, so I would certainly want those...
And btw, I wish I had only paid $1500 for my U47 which I accidentally dropped and broke and have never managed to ship it back to Telefunken for a fix. I paid way more than that. 😞
Upon visiting the Slate Digital product page... the bad news is I'm not on Catalina yet, so I can't use the ML-1 mic yet anyway... but the good news is that my 2 favorite mics for the acoustic guitar in your demo are both in the set of 8 core mic emulations that come with the purchase price of the mic. So at least there is that when I'm ready. The other mic packs are pretty expensive though. Ouch!
@@TznYeeChun -- You get access to all the mic emulations for only 1 month to try them out. But you get to permanently own and keep the core set that comes with the product purchase (I think 8 of them). But the must-have mics that I would definitely have in my collection are among those in the expansion packs. Gotta see what offers Black Friday brings.
@@zedxxx9 Ohhh, i just sent an email to the B&H Sales Department to check on it and they just replied me and I quote "The Slate Digital ML-1 is currently on sale for $399 and you will get all 26 mic models which are yours forever, and a free month of the Complete Access Bundle." I am still waiting for the Slate Digital Support for the question, too, to make sure it is true or not!!
I just purchased it with all the expansion packs. Couldn’t find their original VMS 1 preamp cause it was discontinued. How well does this mic work with other preamps? Which one are you using?

They don’t carry the preamp these days so I wonder how genuine the sound is with UAD Apollo hardware.

If i get the slate digital ml1 microphone from a 2nd hand place like zzounds will i need to buy the software separate?
Unfortunately, you would need to ensure the software comes with your purchase!
What about using it in post production
You can
Fine video and I love the doubling vocals trick. The acoustic guitar is slightly out of tune :P
I can’t get my mic to sound that clean. I get more noise than signal. Yes I’m using a pre. If I boost the pre to get signal I get just as much noise.
You can check your connection (the cable)
I had a noise problem suddenly and got the mic replaced back in time
Thanks
I’ve had this for a few years now. I hope they update the software with AI technology.
Unfortunate angle for the thumbnail... how didn't y'all catch that before publishing this vid 😂
i’m always the first
The UAD sphere DLX is.... A LOT BETTER !
Vanguard V13 Gen2 is the best mic.
This guy's not allowed in any studio within 100 meters of a school zone.
The mics are cool for options but they sound like the real mics..
Just be honest......maybe slate is payimg you to fool people
