    The special and famous mic the Slate ML-1. Yes, it does emulate the 10,000$ sound of the Sony Mic for a Graceful price of 800$ (At the time i bought it was 500$ at the pandemic on black friday so i was very lucky) talk about saving breesh, Sheesh! they made it for the average fortunate majority tbh those who got a hold of the mic know its more expensive then its shown but appreciate the fact that Slate company went out there way and showed mercy on the price.
    ~Side note: you don't have to buy a Slate Digital audio interface for the Slate ML-1 to get a good solid flat sound. The best cheaper alternative is to buy the SSL2 or SSL2+ audio interface that compensates for the price with barely drawbacks. Last thing about the Slate ML-1 mic is that it does have more sibilance to clean with de-essers then the average mic's. Dont let that take away from its quality its still worth the price by alot. im not gon rant on the mic but theres more features to it then im describing

    I know I’m an audio geek for sure. I have been curious about how this mic truly sounds with the emulations. Just like some plugins it can be hit or miss. It would be nice to have one mic that can have different sound profiles that will give me the feel of a super expensive mic. I have had issues with pairing my budget mics with some artists that I have worked with locally.

    • @youngmarckson
      @youngmarckson 2 роки тому +1

      mmmmm nah in forums it said otherwise im pretty sure that with the slate ml1 mic its a compatibility thing weather with what audio interface its paired with because some audio interfaces can’t bring the full features of that mic from what i read before buying it. When you mean brittle im thinking you mean the mic isnt bold but thin right?!? because if thats what it is then thats the point of a flat signal (too a Natural sounding degree). I never read on the forum with those 2 paired combinations working cause it never was brought up but if you want a bold and detailed vocal then im sure it can work with this versatile mic.

    Had one of these but it didn't last long. Is it usable? Yes. But it's also quantity over quality. A pair of $300 mics will get you more natural sounds that will require a little less fiddling to get right IMO. Just get a Rode NT1 and Sontronics STC-2 and you'll have stronger starting points than this.
    This mic+software isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as good as it is hyped up to be.

    The L22 is the better of the two. Plus it has the OceanWay mic collection; probably the best collection there’s been (i used to work there and use them.) plus/then the UAD Neve Mic Pre emulation is the best of those too. The UAD environment (LUNA, the emulations) are the best. However, whatever works for you. At the end of the day it’s really about the song.
