Hope you enjoyed the video! When pinning from Etsy, Pinterest won't always let you change the pin title and/or description and will get it from your listing instead - it's ok because you likely already have the keywords in there, so don't panic! :-)

This was so useful! I kind of feel that I know where to start now. The tip about pinning both from Etsy and images with text of my items was really helpful to understand how to build a strategy, thank you!

Hi Deborah! Thank you very much for all the tips, you definitely made me put more work into researching keywords specifically for Pinterest.
I'm only using Pinterest for about a month or so but noticed that the pins I pin directly from my Etsy are performing better than the ones I create for Pinterest. I guess it's due to better keywords I used in Etsy and well my laziness :)

Thank you for this video! It's very helpful. Has something changed with Etsy and Pinterest, as it seems you can no longer link or "claim" your Etsy account on Pinterest.

Such a helpful video, thank you!! I've recently launched my Etsy shop (and have found several other of your videos most informative as well!) and am looking forward to when I can finally crack the Pinterest code 😊 It's quite a lot to take in... my biggest hurdle right now is determining how to set up my Boards. Trying to decide between thematic categories based on the ideal customer profile (which would include pins of mine and repins of other relative content) vs. straight and simple product-focused categories based on my items (not necessarily a replica of my Etsy categories, as you mentioned) which would be more of a way to "index" my product pins but wouldn't make much sense to repin other content. Would REALLY value your input on whether you'd recommend reserving boards for the business' products (whether it's one or multiple) and then create separate boards for "customer profile inspiration", or is it more strategic to "mix and mingle" both within my Boards?

Thanks for checking out the video, Alison! Glad it was helpful :) the simple rule is “don’t create boards your products and pins won’t fit into, and don’t create boards that will force you to pin competitors products next to yours". Inspiration and using your ideal customer is really important, but with the latest changes on Pinterest, creating lifestyle/inspiration boards that do not serve you for pinning your own products OR that do not help you for Pinterest SEO (keywords carefully researched in your boards) is not helpful anymore. Regarding other people’s pins, it’s also okay to not pin too much of other people’s content and more of your own pins. @@Tizzitco Excellent, good to know! I was leaning towards that approach as I’ve learned more recently about Pinterest algorithm changes 👍 And I suppose in order to keep fresh pins coming (with my own content 😉), it’s good to create multiple pins for the same product. What I’m trying to determine now is if I should use one image/style pin in my “main” Board? And if it’s best practice to pin more than one pin (same product, different pin) in the same Board - or is that too much? I’ll be checking out your Pinterest course in the meantime, thank you! 🙏

Your video is very interesting, thank you !
Since i've started my "Pinterest strategy" , my views have increased a lot....but not the sales ! At the begining you mentioned the example of macrame planthanger and that's exactly what I sell. The problem is that I dont think a lot of ppl use the filter "products" so every day, about 30 people pin my photos but it's clearly not to buy it but to get ideas ! And this is really a problem.
I've also read that making videos is cool for Pinterest visibility, i have one pinned more than 10 000 times and if you click on it you just turn off the sound...the link to the product is not very easy to find... So, i'm a bit lost and don't know if my Pinterest is giving me more chances to sell or more ideas to ppl to copy my stuff 😅

The separation between “explore” and “shop” is quite new and not available in every country yet but Pinterest is making some really great changes to make it easier to shop VS look for ideas. You will always have people looking for inspiration - this is true of every platform, and also a natural step before actually buying a product 🙂 Not every impression will lead to a save or a click but you seem to generate engagement which is very encouraging! I would absolutely recommend you keep it up!

@@metalrokjewellery idk algorithm change I assume. Finally getting momentum after getting down to 11k, back up to 14k. Trying to pin more story pins and upping my game on keyword research. I’m still annoyed but I’m seeing progress so I’m trying to stay positive.

Great tips! But I never able to add the keyboards I want on Pinterest, they only let me select a few ones that they already have listed, so that limits a lot of my tags, is there a way to modify that? It always selects the DIY ones that do not apply to my pins. I have my Etsy shop claimed but how can I add them to my own website? Also, I want to be able to directly add pins with my Etsy shop link and add carousel and videos pins.

    • @Tizzitco
      @Tizzitco  3 роки тому +1

Oh! I think you are talking about “category or interest tags” - which Pinterest does call tagging to make things confusing but these are just an extra bit of information you can give Pinterest as to what general category your pins fall under. Your keywords are added naturally in your pins designs, titles and descriptions, boards titles and descriptions. If you have anymore questions, check-out our Pinterest course!

    Dear Deborah,
I love your video's. They are so useful! I have one question: I don't get the rich pins and I did claim my Etsy account. When I pin a listing, the pin doesn't show the price or a shop on Etsy button. What am I doing wrong?
When I search on the homepage as a personal user, I don't get the 'see only products' option either.
I hope you can help me or have a tip for me.
    Thank you so much!

Hi Nicky! I would contact Pinterest support about the Etsy issue. As for the "see only products" - I think it's not fully rolled out everywhere in the world and Pinterest always changed things so it may look different for you. Hope it helps! -A.

Hard to say exactly without more info, Adani, but that's not uncommon. As long as your average conversion rate stays steady, I wouldn't worry about it too much! If your conversion rate is strong, maybe it's time to focus on increasing traffic. - L
