"were gonna get into it, roll that intro" *DEAD AWKWARD 40 seconds of SILENCE*
Professional streamer for over 10 years, by the way...
No that’s the intro.
It’s avant garde!
LOL The double mic too. Destiny is having a fit over this after the testing stream
@@Stabby666Brand new setup, on probably all new equipment, and there's supposed to be someone else off camera that's in charge of all of this stuff but okay buddy. Be a hater if you want to be a hater
@@thecooljohn100 just pointing out the fucking obvious. Do you think this was a well produced podcast? Hell, August could have cleaned this up in a couple of hours.
Ryan is a dad-joke-telling, whiskey-drink drinkin', cigar smoking, cool uncle to all. Also, hats.
Needs to get laid BADLY! Omg someone invite him to a sex party!
Couldn’t be said better. Love him 😂
@@Sparkbark45 Don't think he was wise to be hitting the whiskey like he was.
@@derekallen3979 yeah I couldn't tell if he was drunk or just not that knowledgeable. Maybe both
Well, hello there.
Never seen this podcast before and I’m only here because Ryan is, but I must say, I like the girl in this podcast. She obviously doesn’t know much about the military, but she’s very intelligent, she asks the right questions for someone who has no knowledge of the subject, she makes very effective analogies and she doesn’t pretend to know more than she does. God I love people like that.
You can find her under the handle @NotSoErudite
Her channel is notsoerudite
Disagree
She has a background in psychology but not a psychologist she works in the field I forget the term for the job. But she likes reading studies on her streams
@@coolroxasI believe she worked as a psychometrician, she also did a side thing of helping people find therapists that would fit them.
"He's not former intelligence?"
"He's not even intelligent"
LOOOOL lost it at this part not above a joke at Hamasabi's expense

@@dip9995 1:50:50 ish
That shit hit me almost as hard as destiny saying BRICS isn't even real. In hindsight it's not that funny but it got me
@@doublebuddy7569Not funny but certainly true. BRICS countries couldn’t be more opposed in their geopolitical intentions. It exists as an attempt to convince people that “dedollarization” exists and that “western hegemony” is ending when it’s just not true.
Some legitimate feedback since chat was useless:
1. Steven was a great host. His questions and responses felt really natural and he seemed comfortable. As long as he's interested in the guest and the topic, I could see the pod really excelling.
2. The set is so much better. Maybe put a shelf behind the guest, some type of aesthetic paneling on the wall, or a display for branding and sponsorships. Just no posters!
3. Camera focus is good but having the shoulder of the person in front of the camera is slightly distracting. Get taller tripods or mount the cameras for a better angle.
4. Timestamps are needed for any podcast over an hour long.
5. Daddy Al-Baddie is crazy.
Good criticisms. Agree with point 3 especially.
@@NicodemusT They are not in a hotel room, they're renting another apartment in Destiny's building.
Riiiiiiiiiiight, but also. The intro was an awkward false start, the audio is fucked with feedback during the first two minutes, the wideshot of the three of them is out of focus for the first five minutes and the camera on Ryan has him out of focus for pretty much the entire duration of the episode (gets progressively better to the point of it being unnoticeable to an untrained eye, but for the first couple of minutes the focus was on the mic - and given that they used a wide aperture, Ryan was all blurry). I guess you pick things up as you go along. That's what constructive criticism is for as well.
Instead of a shelf they need a Neon Light Bridges Podcast Logo to the right of the Guest for some added Branding and to have something on the wall behind the Guest so it's not bland. I agree to the while focusing on the Guest Camera shot, seeing NSE or Destiny shoulders are bit of an issue, imo. Someone has to be on the ball trying to Timestamp and get the Guests and Hosts Socials in the Description before or Immediately after the show. if NSE and Destiny can fix these issues the Podcast will be in a Excellent place. Overall a really good Guest and Episode.
Daddy Al-Baddie is the worst, but I've heard that Baddie Al-Daddy is actually alright.
Ryan is breath of fresh air in the modern days of deception
Absolutely, couldn’t agree more he is completely facts based and uses intelligence standards.
well not really, given that his coverage of the latest gaza war is extremely one sided.
@@aunnaqvi3133never said he was impartial. The difference is that Ryan uses fact and science instead of rumors and speculation.
@@HRM.H his coverage is then deceptive by omission.
@@aunnaqvi3133 I know it sucks that facts don't match your agenda, but it doesn't mean he is deceptive. He is the opposite of it, you are just brainwashed
Hearing 3 hours of Ryan was a delight
McBeth was awesome! Loved his wealth of information about how stuff in the military works!
Ryan is dressed up like a mobster on vacation in Miami, I love it
He’s a us war vet. He IS a mobster on vacation in Miami.
He is from jersey 🤷♂️
he looks like the bad guy on jurrasic park 1
Uncle Ryan is a gem.
If it wasn't youtube recommending me this, I wouldn't know this existed
Tiny is a great marketer
I don't understand why he is not mentioning it on every stream and under every video.
Yeah he's terrible at advertising
@@DudokXProbably because it still needs polishing
@@JINX1441the convos are still important and he only mentions them casually once or twice per stream at most
this was such an amazing conversation, i actually feel more informed about the world now than before. these are things i read about a lot and this conversation still touched on so much of the minutiae that you don't come across very often. always love ryan mcbeth, huge props to him for giving such a great performance.
I couldn't have said it better myself. What a man. I NEED to meet him one day.
i felt the same. maybe it's a characteristic of a good podcast / discussion / debate, if one feels more informed afterwards. the debate with finkelstein was absolutely confusing and made me think i understand less after than i did before.
Damn, this was a good combination. Ryan as a true expert who was there to inform rather than pontificate, Destiny asked interesting questions to push into details of knowledge that we don't normally cover. Notsoerudite made sure things stayed grounded in a format that intelligent viewers who weren't experts on this specific subject matter fully understood. Everyone was amazing and really added to the conversation and showed they were all equals just filling different roles.
I love the way Ryan's eyes light up when he talks about blowing shit up. 🙂 It's so wholesome and dark simultaneous.
McBeth is the Neil Degrasse Tyson of shit that goes boom.
Right on the spot 🤣🤣🤣
jesus christ now i cant unhear than when listening to him lol
Oh wow, you're right. He totally has much of Neil DeGrasse Tyson's mannerism.
That's a criticism as far as im concerned lol
I was about to comment that but checked if anyone else pointed it out :P right on man
Randomly found Ryan a little over a year ago through his youtube shorts and watching this exponential growth has been great. He's got a lot of insight into the military world and he makes his videos really interesting. You can tell he's very passionate about the topics covered.
Really interesting talk. Ryan is a great storyteller and his knowledge about all things military is impressive.
Yeah. I could easily listen to this guy for hours.
@@Anniducatireally? Honestly I was more surprised about the amount of stuff he knew nothing about
I follow his own substack which is better. I respect that when he's adressed with a question that's not his domaine, he admits it then either doesn't answer, or clarifies it's an unqualified opinion.
Hell of a conversation about some pretty heavy topics but still managed to keep a somewhat light tone. Great job guys.
I skipped to a random section due to the initial audio issues, but the guest was very engaging to me. My father is ex-navy and I really do respect what these soldiers have to go through. Even the thought of flying to a hostile country makes me really uncomfortable.
Great guest and from what I’ve seen, you two did great as hosts asking good questions and playing off the guests stories. 👍
@RyanMcBethProgramming is his UA-cam, Ryan does some really great breakdowns that help normal civilians understand military stuff, he also breaks down and calls out miss information no matter where it is coming from. Cool dude for sure.
Feedback: apply a 80hz high pass filter (bass roll-off) there were a lot of low frequency table bumps towards the end. Great pod, subscribed.
could you please make a post in his subreddit ? you seem knowledgeable and hes looking for advice
Totally, or some boom arms/shock mounts instead of the desktop stands
That's what it was 😅
You can roll off higher than that. If you want to remove Plossive type sounds that takes good key filtering and l good compression times
nah they need a noise gate. you can hear the ambient low frequencies the entire episode
Kyla and Lycan did a great job improving on the setup!
You mean Lycan. Kayla did the setup for the first episode, with pictures of her on the walls
@@bokramubokramu8834the setup for the first one was fan art from both creators. Kayla, being a smaller creator, is likely to have much less to choose from.
At the very beginning, it looked like she wanted him to introduce himself but then cut to the intro and he never got to introduce himself after because she talked about his merch, gotta figure out a better way to start the podcast
@@Bravepotato1why are some of you so obsessed with talking her down. Dan literally said she did a lot of this and did an amazing job that he never would have done. He’s not involved in the creation of this podcast if not very very marginally in the later stages like doing some testing and giving the audience some laughs during testing. She has no prior experience with the creation of a podcast and made mistakes, but I’m all for appreciating the learning curve. This was a great episode! If anything credit Lycan, and sure, Destiny. Doesn’t mean this isn’t a lot of her work too.
@@Bravepotato1 you can't drop "defends his actions even when he's wrong" without saying which actions, because everything you said hinges on that
Omg, its so refreshing hearing smart people talking together.
that was the most scuffed intro I have ever seen and I have zero idea why that made the final cut. the awkward silence, the double stacked audio, and it taking 2 WHOLE minutes for the podcast to ACTUALLY start
Its just a live stream vod
Cuz it was funny
@@JINX1441 ye, but still for youtube they really need to polish and recut it, not just leave it as it was
@@Nightknight1992 need the fresh and fit cut
@@Nightknight1992 Bah. That's a waste of time. It already happened, it's going to get clipped-there's no benefit to cutting out a pretty minor error. It'd be different if this was episode, but it's the first real episode with the reworked setup.
Especially knowing who Kyla and Steven are, it would be a lot of extra time for no reason. If it annoys you, just cry more I guess.
Two of my favorite UA-camrs.
Let cooler heads prevail.
Honestly genuinely happy Erudite was a co-host in this. Erudite honestly asked questions I would have from a outsider perspective and sometimes it was literally something in my mind as the convo was happening that she asked about exactly that. Ryan is a great guest. Really interesting guy with a lot of knowledge. Hoping for more of these kinds of guests.
She seemed very busy bored with the interview. I thought she might fall asleep during part of it
big time improvement from the first episode. hyped to see where this goes in the future if y'all keeping putting in the same effort to improve it.
I love listening to Ryan. He is a great story teller and explains complex things in ways I can understand. Interesting questions. Well done both of you! This is the first time I'm seeing your channel. Very cool!
Thus is by far one if the best podcasts I have seen in terms of understanding contemporary warfare. Sensational guest well done.
What an absolutely amazing second episode thank you all so very much
This was super good! I remember when Destiny first talked to Ryan McBeth and it was a great convo. I’m glad he got on this podcast. Always a solid guest ❤️
I was so happy, for folks who don't watch Destiny for the crazy unhinged drama he was super well liked, him and Benny are probably going to be my favorites of the year
Great pod, can tell Ryan carries alot of experience with him. His stuff should be standard viewing for anyone following the war.
This guy Ryan great teacher and storytelling plus he has authentic sense of humor, he should have his own late night comedy show he would be so much better than the current lineup of people who claim to be practicing comedy.
Ryan is so genuine. He's a good man!
This was an excellent interview. Great commentary on the state of warfare around the globe, and plenty of fun/cool/insightful anecdotes. Was already a fan of Ryan, Stephen and Kyla, so this was an exciting collaboration to see!
This being your first actual podcast post. It looks really good and I’m glad you out out the test video, lot of improvements and I’m glad it where it is now.
Man
Hearing Ryan talk unscripted is best!
That ending is a hell of a story I love this guest excellent episode!
Dude is like the Neil deGrasse Tyson of Military/Cybersecurity. He speaks about it with so much passion.
this was soooooooo good. Loved it and Ryan was a fantastic guest...
Mcbeth was great! It was fun and interesting listening to this, good job
This is one of the better podcasts I've seen recently.
A nice mix of humor and darkness from Ryan!
Ngl that last monologue from Ryan was hella good. Didn't know where he was going the whole time but it was wonderful
This setup is so much nicer to look at, than the black walls. Thank you for improving this so quickly! I'd still like to see an actual recording instead of a Stream VOD. It's great, that you're streaming it. But the youtube quality is expected to be hire, for a podcast video on youtube. Thanks for doing this and thanks for all the quick improvements. Cheers.
I like where this pod is headed! Very much enjoyed listening to this conversation.
That was a nice sketch of Canada. I'd really like to see a series on Canada's military challenges strengths and outlook, maybe a series of country profiles.
What an amazing makeover to the background, audio was messy at the start but became better and perfect towards the end. Music is so much better than last time. Maybe fill up the guest wall with 1 or 2 large painting looked a bit empty not terrible though, the painting behind the hosts looked beautiful. The table looked really good with the beer and whisky maybe add 1 or 2 whiskies more at the end of the table. All in all, what an upgrade from last episode.
Some ctiticism : The intro is still shit though.
I think the empty background behind the guest keeps focus on the guest.
@@3magikarpinamansuit281 You can keep the focus on the guest and blur the background with 1 or 2 large paintings
Love Ryan and these 2 cats for my money are asking the right questions and being boarder line old school newsy types which is needed. I’m a subscriber now. Thank you 3.
@RyanMcBethProgramming is one of my favourite humans on the internet. Can't get enough of this guy.
I enjoyed this. This guy is very charismatic.
I really liked this guy. Doesn’t take him self so serious.
I was actually entertained and stuck around for the full 3 hr +. Good show!
This episode is LEAPS and BOUNDS better than the first! Ryan is such an amazing storyteller and I definitely see his years of explaining applications to business and security people shining here lol
I like the implemention of this idea, giving the gust a valuable gift at the end of the broadcast. I think it's very beneficial for identity and branding of the broadcast, making research to offer a personalized gifts at the end.
Great job I love this podcast setup, Ryan was great look forward to another episode. All around great job
its so good to see ryan mcbeth on here, he defiantly deserves more attention
Ryan McBeth's Substack is well worth the $5 a month. The guy is brilliant.
Great second episode! Really stepped up the professional look and I love whenever Ryan engages with the community.
This is really good! I'm at 2h15 currently and listened in one go. Good job!
Really, really good episode
Ryan McBeth is great
that's a JDAM right there
called on!
great podcast! loved listening to you two give Ryan a lot of great questions and debate on some tough topics. First time listener and I really enjoyed the video
Came here from ryans channel and absolutely love the commentary’s great podcast guys👍
This guest was really great
Screw you for not touching any of the cyber side of things.
Thank you for the great podcast 👍🏿
Very good job on describing the BRICS military power. Nice work Ryan!
Ryan just seems like such an awesome dude, very polite, intelligent, funny. So glad to watch this podcast.
2:36:33 I love how Ryan unironically is like "I don't play videogames either"
Ryan should be a teacher; he is charming and super engaged when he's talking!
Ryan is great, I have learned so much about the military from him. He reminds me of my great uncle. I used to spend hours with him telling me all his stories.
Loved this! I’ve been watching both of your content for a while and this was a very interesting discussion.
There are a lot of smart, young people out there. I read that the average age on the newer aircraft carriers is 23. They are keeping us safe. WHAT BRAND OF SCOTCH IN THAT BOTTLE??
Great podcast😊😊😊
Kayla asking if France and Poland are in NATO shows she's become a true American.
Ryan is a really great guy!🎉 Always enlightening us in the age of disinfomation.
Awesome podcast, one of the most interesting guests I've seen on the internet in a long time.
great to see the new fresh & fit setup working out, might want to turn the brightness down because myron looks kinda white here.
This is not the same podcast as ep. 1 at all, you did so good Kyle ❤
Awesome podcast! Really loved all of the conversation from all participants.
I'll be honest, I've never heard of Ryan before and tried watching this when it came out but it didn't really capture my interest for the few minutes I watched.
However, I think I jumped in at the right time this instance and I'm really impressed by Ryan, fantastic storyteller. Watching this podcast reminded me of why I started watching the JRE in the first place (not so much anymore), learning about things that are really cool from knowledgeable people that are engaging to listen to. Great episode.
Ryan doing a great Neal Degrass Tyson voice modulations.
I guess someone has to do it - educate average public. Good on you Ryan.
Really enjoyed this guest, very informative and entertaining
That 30 second pause between sayng roll intro and then the intro rolling was amazing.
The double sound disappears after a minute or two, no worries.
This was actually a great listen, im surprised Ryan hasn’t been invited to many other podcasts
This was great. Loved this.
This was really cool. Good and entertaining talk. The studio and cameras are also an incredible step up
2:27:49 I'm not a historian but I've read some books on this subject and one of the things that have popped up in regards to German treatment of Soviet soldiers was that the Soviets hadn't signed the Geneva convention, therefore the Germans justified to themselves that the laws didn't apply to the Soviets. (A similar line of logic was used to justify the treatment of Jewish civilians) This obviously didn't hold up at the end of the war.
Fantastic pod - great guest and great questions
Loving this podcast format it feels literally like a destiny stream with a guest but in person
This was excellent. I learned a lot. Thank you .
Should ask Chris from modern wisdom for some help on the podcast. His pod seems to be the highest quality
New set looks great! Conversation was great as always!
I love this guy, he has such a wonderful way of speaking
Hey this was a lot of fun to listen to. Guest was informative, knowledgeable and engaging. You both were also very engaged in the subject matter, asking probing questions. I appreciated Erudite's approach from a very laymen's prospective.
Looks much better, the different cameras work really well
based af. As some people have already mentioned there are some things to tighten up but this was awesome. Great guest, great hosts and I am so keen for what's to come
Here is a comment for the algorithm buddy, also left a like and a sub. Good luck with the pod!
Just an FYI in case you didn't notice... I watched this with two good speakers on my TV setup. Ryan kept tapping the table or putting his fingers down on the table a lot. I'm not sure what the best way to fix that issue is, but numerous times I legitimately thought my neighbors below me were banging on the floor. VERY loud if you have any bass in your speakers at all. Just wanted to mention in case there are good ways to avoid that sort of thing in the future. Great guest and the set works really well.
Great job on the camera angles, i thought at first the cuts were too quick, but i got used to the transition speeds real quick. I like that you have steve and kylas’ shoulder/ arms in the shots too. Helps to make me feel like in sitting in the room. Dont know if you got someone sitting on the cameras to keep them in focus. Cause it looked good. My only criticism is maybe push the camera behind steve and kyla back so me dont see it in the shot. Great job again.
15 minutes in (or 46:30 into the full vid) Destiny really comes in hot on the mic and I had to comment. Up til now it has bee really noticable that Ryan is much quieter than you two. I am assuming because of the distance to the mic. It's bad enough so that it's diffucult to find a listening volume loud enough to hear Ryan, but not painful when you talk.
