Stayed there couple years ago. Too bad you didn't have time to do the loop road through the park. Plenty of buffalo and prairie dogs. thanks for your videos.

Love North Dakota Russ. Wind blows every day. Used to live in Gilby N.D. Town had approx. 300 people, that's back in 1975. Really do not miss the winters up there though. Great place to visit. Be safe.

I'm surprised you do not have a GPS you know one of those things that tell you the best way to go and how to go there. PS love being on the road with you, especially when you use the drone!

No antenna on the van, you should get yourself a decent CB radio with SSB. Might be handy when you don't have phone service, plus a bit of company.

Glad the sun came out! As usual, scenery beautiful! I think I heard you say you have an a/c in your van? Sure hope so, as hot days and nights can be miserable!! Great wooden horse! Enjoyable video! 🥰🐾🥰

Most people think of North Dakota as a boring state. However, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is definitely a big exception. The badlands of ND are beautiful and amazing. TRNP is probably one of the best national parks in the country to see wildlife. The wildlife at TRNP is amazing! If you find yourself in that region of the country, then I would highly recommend taking a trip to Medora and TRNP.

A couple hours later in the day and you’d have been unable to drive thru Medora with all the tourists walking around. Lots of cool shops and places to eat. The Medora musical (Medora dot com) is an outdoor amphitheater nearby that puts on a show from May to September, very entertaining. And if you’d taken out that drone you’d have seen some spectacular scenery at the painted canyon. You missed a lot. Minot, North Dakota was my home for 6 years and I liked it there but the oil companies have ruined the area with their fracking.

If you read the 1874 expedition of the Black Hills by the USGS, by Captian William Ludwell, and geologist Winchell, was lead to the Black Hills by Lieutenant Colonal George A Custer. Because the expedition transgressed the sacred Black Holls of the Sioux and other tribes, the Sioux were upset. As they accessed the Black Hills from what os now the state of Montana and then down into Wyoming, the Sioux thought that the 1200 command was in pursuit of the Indian that have left the reservation. When the command reached the Incara Peak, Wyoming, the Sious jad set the grass afire, to deture the calvary from chasing them and taking away and grasses for the calvary's horses. The fire burnt the sage and left a good potion of what is now the Thunder Basin grass lands of Wyoming. The trial then turned east near what is Newcastle, Wyoming and entered the mountians to what is now Custer, SD. After the main resource was done, the 100 wagon train tracked north and down the steaper east side of the Black Hills. The expedition also went due north to explore the Missouri River on the way back to Fort Abraham Lincoln, South pf Bismarck, SD. On the way back the Sioux had gathered some more support, but not enough to take on the 1200 solders. The Sioux again thought they could harass the expedition by burning the grass lands while they traveled to the Missouri River. The Ondoans did not know that half of the wagons carried oats fpr the miles and horse of the train. These fires again burnt the sage brush and the grasses came back in now what is know as Theordore Rossavelt National grass lands. I came across this when I was doing a geological study of the Minnilusas Formation in the Black Hills, of Wyoming and SD as named and described by Winchell of the University of Saint Paul Minnesota. Robert Specht, Geologost, 1989.
