Awesome road trip....ready for the next....thanks for bringing the USA to my living room!
Again ,,,, dig the vibe/humor👍🏻
Gosh I love your videos Russ. Thanks for your hard work! My wife has relatives in Willeston. She was born in Minot. We done a 5 week travel trailer tour of North Dakota and South Dakota. in 2007. You are seeing some fantastic places. Again thank you.
Medora sure looked like a nice sleepy little town. Love that.
Stayed there couple years ago. Too bad you didn't have time to do the loop road through the park. Plenty of buffalo and prairie dogs. thanks for your videos.
Also bighorn sheep and mustangs
Enjoyed the drive and what a cut little town. The one thing I have noticed is these small towns are kept clean. Nice park and thanks so much as have never been to North Dakota.
Love North Dakota Russ. Wind blows every day. Used to live in Gilby N.D. Town had approx. 300 people, that's back in 1975. Really do not miss the winters up there though. Great place to visit. Be safe.
Good Morning. Been there and yes it is great place to go. Jack
I'm surprised you do not have a GPS you know one of those things that tell you the best way to go and how to go there. PS love being on the road with you, especially when you use the drone!
Hey Russ! Glad to see you enjoying your road trip! Looks like you're a few states over from me. Having a busy summer myself so I get to watch all your videos in reverse. Enjoy yourself and stay safe!
Morning Russ!! Excellent video sir!! My dad volunteers out there every summer. Very beautiful park!!
Beautiful country, flowers and mountains. Nice visitors center. 😊👍
Russ said to hear your summer tour is drawing down , all good things must come to a end they say , i have enjoyed your daily videos very much thank-you
No antenna on the van, you should get yourself a decent CB radio with SSB. Might be handy when you don't have phone service, plus a bit of company.
Glad the sun came out! As usual, scenery beautiful! I think I heard you say you have an a/c in your van? Sure hope so, as hot days and nights can be miserable!! Great wooden horse! Enjoyable video! 🥰🐾🥰
Russ one of my high school classmates was from williston. Not much their just a bunch of wheat farms his family has over 2,ooo acres Fargo is the closest city wear you can get supplies.
Don't forget to visit Watford city, I lived there for 13 years, nice little town
I was at TRNP last year...It rained all day so I left and continued on my journey..
Looks like a nice place to live if winter didn't come every year. Pretty country to look at for sure. Happy trails.
Beautiful area, thanks for showing us Russ :-)
Thanks. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for the good work.
I enjoyed the live stream last evening Russ!👍
👋😊
Russ you ever thought about going to some store and getting a 4" plastic oscillating 12 Volt Fan and velcro to dash for 180 * vewing.?
yeah
Hi North Dakota
Sounds like you're totally excited about being in N Dakota! lol
John Tilson
Most people think of North Dakota as a boring state. However, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is definitely a big exception. The badlands of ND are beautiful and amazing. TRNP is probably one of the best national parks in the country to see wildlife. The wildlife at TRNP is amazing! If you find yourself in that region of the country, then I would highly recommend taking a trip to Medora and TRNP.
Good vid Russ.
Hi Russ. Love the videos! Especially the ones through my home state Montana. May I ask what are the cameras/setups you use? The dash footage is so smooth...
Howdy
There was a phone booth in the campground.
What senior discount card ?
👍😊
cool
Could you give info on the Senior Card you mentioned, how to get one etc. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks
Jimmy Egan - If you will go online and google America the Beautiful Park Pass for Seniors, it was bring up the instructions on how to obtain one.
@@judyabernathy80 Thank You
A couple hours later in the day and you’d have been unable to drive thru Medora with all the tourists walking around. Lots of cool shops and places to eat. The Medora musical (Medora dot com) is an outdoor amphitheater nearby that puts on a show from May to September, very entertaining. And if you’d taken out that drone you’d have seen some spectacular scenery at the painted canyon. You missed a lot. Minot, North Dakota was my home for 6 years and I liked it there but the oil companies have ruined the area with their fracking.
That is so sad. Damon fracking.
Hey Russ,
Is the Park open Year Round ?
You said you showed your Senior Card..
What card is that ?
Special card for
discount to National Parks.
Road signs don't mean much to you do they?
what happened to your dog Scooby?
If you read the 1874 expedition of the Black Hills by the USGS, by Captian William Ludwell, and geologist Winchell, was lead to the Black Hills by Lieutenant Colonal George A Custer. Because the expedition transgressed the sacred Black Holls of the Sioux and other tribes, the Sioux were upset. As they accessed the Black Hills from what os now the state of Montana and then down into Wyoming, the Sioux thought that the 1200 command was in pursuit of the Indian that have left the reservation. When the command reached the Incara Peak, Wyoming, the Sious jad set the grass afire, to deture the calvary from chasing them and taking away and grasses for the calvary's horses. The fire burnt the sage and left a good potion of what is now the Thunder Basin grass lands of Wyoming. The trial then turned east near what is Newcastle, Wyoming and entered the mountians to what is now Custer, SD. After the main resource was done, the 100 wagon train tracked north and down the steaper east side of the Black Hills. The expedition also went due north to explore the Missouri River on the way back to Fort Abraham Lincoln, South pf Bismarck, SD. On the way back the Sioux had gathered some more support, but not enough to take on the 1200 solders. The Sioux again thought they could harass the expedition by burning the grass lands while they traveled to the Missouri River. The Ondoans did not know that half of the wagons carried oats fpr the miles and horse of the train. These fires again burnt the sage brush and the grasses came back in now what is know as Theordore Rossavelt National grass lands. I came across this when I was doing a geological study of the Minnilusas Formation in the Black Hills, of Wyoming and SD as named and described by Winchell of the University of Saint Paul Minnesota. Robert Specht, Geologost, 1989.
