Hello from Germany Your videos are the reason for starting the RC hobby. I ordered the MJX Hyper Go brushless with 2 Batteries ;-) Hope for much more videos 🙂
The Toyota would be my choice hands down. If the choice was a free Tesla or buy a Toyota. I’d take the free Tesla of course, and then sell it and buy the Toyota 😊 As always, love your reviews. I wasn’t expecting the 144001 to be your #2. I love mine though so, makes sense. Have a great day!
Thank you so much I just ordered the thunder your video was spectackular could you please advise the best way for me to buy the correct extra batteries beside the two that come with it. Thank you In advance 2:16
That little Kei car has been one of my best cars for quite a while. Cheap, cheerful, easy to drive. Mainly because it's one of the cars I use for my nephews and niece to play with.
Great list mate. The FTX Tracer brushless for the UK folks is awesome and I know Rochester RC had them in stock not long ago. Even the brushed ones are good fun. As for the 144001... Awesome little buggy. It got me into the hobby and it's how I found your channel mate...
Im almost 40... I've had an amazing career. Ive worked for famous people and have seen some awesome stuff but talk to me about Aliens, dioramas, trains and Rc cars bro and you'll really get to see what i really like. As I near retirement have made it my mission is to be that adult i wish to be as a child. Im glad I came across this channel as my obsession with rcs has recently been awoken back. I forgot how fun they were. Thanks for your expertise!
Love how you are wearing the same jumper in this years 99$ video. Nothing like a bit of continuity. Should I call you phil or Homer Simpson 😊 Great video as always mate
I bought a 144001 for $100. It was fast out the box but I put a 4300kv brushless motor in it and it's absolutely mental. I ordered a full set of aluminum parts from amazon for about $30 and it's very strong and durable. Gave it a tumble at 60mph. Only thing was some scrapes on the wing and body. Do recommend the car.
Nice list, i have several of these, in fact i have speed run the pinecone models ones, and the wltoys (buggy version) recently. Have to agree that the brushed version of the pinecone is way smoother to drive.
just going with the attempt to satisfy curiosity - I am intrigued by what these particular manufacturers are actually measuring out to be, "1:16" "1:14" "1:18" - When Tamiya put out the M-Chassis stuff (mine is a m03 mini cooper) it was said that those were "1:14" scale in actuality, as compared to the 10th scale touring cars at the time. I'm sure you've got a Tamiya Mini body, can you please see how the wheel placement compares to those rc cars mentioned in this video? The goal would be to make a "more scale" off road mini cooper (or similar m-chassis body) - and I would very likely mod it to stay FWD by the way. Cheers! Keep the great channel going!
I absolutely love that Music titles streamer. Thank you for introducing me to it and i also found 2 more great piece from Recommended section under that streamer yt video. massive thank you!
Hey guys,,, my 5 year old has got RC fever,,, he loves his WLtoys 18301, his mate bought one,,, so cheap and great little cars,, the worlds best according to Tomalley and I understand where he is coming from 😊, anyway he wants to do a bit of crawling,, can anyone suggest a cheap little crawler to get him started? Thanks
Jus t got the hyper go H16GT. I love the smaller 1 16 stuff... They're the perfect yard basher. Don't need alot of space for full-speed and if you hit a jump they fly fairly well. I really enjoy them their lil cars..
On Amazon right now, they have a brushed Hyper Go buggy for $60 USD. I bought 3 of them for my nieces and nephew for Christmas time. And they're just as good as my brushless MT other than speed of course. $60 for a Hyper Go is absolutely mental
Well you're a smart guy I have five of them and I love them better than the big name brands also. That's why I watch your channel and I'm subscribed to it because you know what you're talking about. Sometimes. Lol just kidding. MJX hyper go brand is top in my eyes like you said very fast they look good and they're durable and cheap. Can't get much better than that. Keep up the good videos and I'll keep watching. God bless
Hey there tomley rc...have u or can you do a reveiw of the MN128 1/12 rubicon jeep. Are you a fan...know you liked mn86 merc wagon. Could you do an upgraded version...to make it better n see if it can compete with higher priced trail trucks and crawlers. Peace.
It's interesting to read the comments on my music choices. Especially those that tell me the music was crap... I always wonder what music they would have chose. With any fast paced montage, Rap/Hip-hop or similar is usually the only one that works. I'm glad you agree... well, 'cognitive dissonance' is not a term I've ever heard in the comments before, but I think I understand what you mean ;)
I like how you stated the hbx 16889a pro is still your no1 choice as I’ve just bought one for my child for Christmas after doing a lot of research. I’m tempted to treat myself but something similar but a bit faster, do you have a recommendation
Great vid as always👍, pls could you recommend a brushed 390 motor crawler esc, i was thinking hobbywing 1060 but thats for 540 and I'm pulling what little hair i have left out.
My guess would be the MJX 14301 (Infraction knock off) or 14302 (Lancia), but then again I don't know if this way ever sold below 100$. I paid 105€ with coupons on the 9th September Banggood sale (two battery version). However I heard it eats tires for breakfast. Haven't taken it out yet.
Can't find a working way to edit my comment on mobile. Very frustrating. I meant to say "it EATS tires" not whatever autocorrect wrote and screwed me over with.

Good question. I haven't unboxed my 16889A Pro yet but in general I think the included batteries are decent. I will measure the capacity later because capacity fraud is like a thorn in my spine that I want eleminated from this world. The included Lipos come with the benefit of being a direct fit and the original battery tray looks fairly constrained regarding the size unless you get creative with mounting a larger battery on the center brace.

Hi Russel, I am also a beginner to be quite honest. I measured the HBX battery that came with the car. Discharged from storage charge of 3.83V per cell (or so) to 3.2V (per cell) and back to 4.2V which yielded a capacity of 930 mAh after 58m33s which I would call acceptable at a charging current of 1A (which equals 1C for this battery).
