Hi AllieMarie, The Raindrop video is not Care Certified. Care does not give a license for the Raindrop, though, they do give a certification. However, each state has a different licensing for the right to touch and most states require a massage license (especially if a person is going to charge for the Raindrop). The Raindrop video is the way Gary Young teaches the Raindrop, so it is slightly different than Care. Hope this helps!
Hi, Philip! For a member to charge for a Raindrop Technique, they need to check the laws in their state or country. If they have a massage license or another license that gives them the right to touch, they can charge. Some states are okay even if they don't have a license. Some people get around this with a Minister's license. Some just ask for a donation.
Philip Bolster I’m in Texas. My daughter owns a spa/salon. The rain drop massage is charged a higher amount as it is a premium service and the massage therapist does not charge for the oils. I’m assuming that would break YL policy as well.
Also bear mine with your state this is also considered like a massage if you are not a licensed professional you cannot charge for this service. But any point in time you can charge for the price of the oil you use

Beautiful Demonstration! I learned this 14 years ago in school and it was an amazing refresher!~ Thanks again! Long Live Dr. Gary Young~! May God be PLEASED with his amazing contribution of healing to us all!
i absolutely love this i love the idea of becoming a massage therapist i have always loved massaging people and most people keep telling me i should become one as they always say i always work out the knots and they always feel relieved
I have questions. I don’t think this is the updated version because they removed (in the in the last two seminars I was at ) they removed the skull pull and we now put a rolled into a cylinder shape, placed down the spine of the back while the person is still facing down. Then, covered with another towel and then the sheet and then they stay there until towel gets cool. It takes about seven to Eight minutes for it to cool down and then you it’s over
What happened to the hot towels applied after the oils to assure they enter the skin deeply? That was a great way to end it in my opinion. Why was this left out?
Hello since we are going thru hard times with the COVID -19 situation I’m wonder if in the future someone in the DFW are near Grapevine gives the rain drop massage.
@BITC 3vino Absolutely! V-6 oil is the perfect way to dilute oils, especially when you are using them directly on the skin. Great suggestion! Thank you for watching ❤️
When doing the roll and release- I notice that the oils are in the hand that supports the foot and that the oil on the fingers that actually are doing the massage are at the tips, but the tips don't actually touch the client's skin much; it's more of the nails- so how are the oils actually benefiting the client? Thanks
The oils are on the practitioner's whole hand and fingers, it spreads as she works, also her palm is cupping and rolling along the spinal reflex point. This is why it's important for a licensed massage therapist to apply the session and why it's important to have an understanding of anatomy and reflexology. You can modify a little by rubbing the oils along the side of the foot from heel to toe, then start. But you can see from the top angle of the video that the practitioner's hand is massaging the oils in as she goes up the foot.
Any LMT's use this technique but use the normal strokes of massage? Curious about alignment with the hands and fingers, even though this is gentle and lighter, can you go deeper if the client wishes. Would love to hear other MT's experience with their clients.
in my experience and to my knowledge, you dont need to go any deeper as this modality is all about the oils, not the massage really. The massage part is to stimulate the nerves and open up/loosen the tissue around the spinal cord. Going deeper or using more pressure is not necessary. My clients love it without the extra work for us and Im a "heavy handed mt"
It would be VERY helpful if Young Living put a link to this video on their website under the product Raindrop Technique kit, item # 3137. I found the video accidently! It would also help if the YL website had the ingredients listed for the Raindrop Technique kit! It does not give ANY ingredients!!!!

@@YoungLivingEssentialOils I learned from Gary in 1998 and it is very different in that he did it with person in chair and only on the back. Wow, so relaxing. Honestly I went to a massage therapist and had The Raindrop Technique done. After watching this, I realize it’s not the raindrop technique that she does/did. She made up her own ‘technique’. Which I was extremely disappointed in. She had me choose my own oils for about 30 min then told me that was part of the experience because I was smelling the oils. Hi! Young Living does not define an age group for the Raindrop technique, however, precaution should always be taken when applying essential oils to small children. Make sure a carrier oil is used first if ever there is a question. We recommend starting with just one drop of oil. Most young children are too small to perform all of the massage techniques, and often you will only be able to do so much for as long as the child will hold still. If performing the Raindrop on a child, maybe hold them on your lap, rub a generous about of V-6 Oil Complex on first, add one drop of oil, and do the light feathering and fanning touch. Never leave a small child unattended if you are using a massage table. Hope this helps!
