Well said! I worked as a graphic artist for many years. In that context this might be a useful tool. When people start passing this off as fine art and commanding large prices, that's where I get concerned. I'd also hate to see these in a competition against artists who have worked many years to hone their craft.
What I really dislike about AI art is that it's stealing art from any artist who's images can be found online, dead and alive. Copyrighted images as well. Plain and simple, it's art theft.
This is a very thought provoking video! We think you're right, and we think anybody who prefers AI to human-generated art isn't in the market for real art anyway! We agree, artists will undoubtedly benefit from AI imagery as a tool, but there has to be consideration for the rights of human artists whose work is mashed up into these images. Photography competed with manual drawing and painting too, but it did become an important tool for learning and creating art.
People will always make art, but AI will take a BIG slice out of the opportunities to create representational art that we just reclaimed. Sorry, but most of the AI images you just showed are better than most of the art out there and people can print it, frame it, share it and make it with no major training. We live in a tik tok world.
The scary thing about it is this is nascent tech. Expect this to get exponentially better in the next few years.
Best description of the ai situation

It’s no different than hip hop artists sampling existing songs.
Totally agree! (Sometimes you look like Diana Krall, wonderful jazz artist. )
Ha! I’ve been told that before, AI avatars or no. She is my celebrity doppelgänger!
It has already been proven that AI is very good at lying, that is, the answer is not obvious, it makes itself an answer that is usually wrong.
No
