How every disappointing... one of the most hailed producers/arrangers in Belgium behind this project, but reducing this powerful disco classic to such an uninspired, diluted, characterless and bleak rockpop tune. Would have exspected a whole lot better.

Hiermee wil ik zeggen niet bij elke song veel variatie qua zangtechnieken, haar sportpaleis concerten zijn vooral veel sfeer en hier en daar wel is een song waar ze variatie van zangstem laat horen. Om te verkondigen dat ze een mager stemmetje heeft vind ik geen waar.
Nice, they completely scrapped the fantastic synth sounds Patrick Cowley made, and put emphasis on the voice, like we see so often in TV talent shows, other covers, etc. As if it ever was the single most important instrument in music. All about the voice, and the atmosphere doesn't matter. Soulless, sad for what's supposed to be such a funky song. You can't even begin to compare this woman's voice to Sylvester's, because the song here doesn't even have Patrick Cowley's amazing instrumental. That said, she is trying to sound perfect singing, but as so often is forgotten, it's not about sounding perfect, it's about the voice reflecting feelings, character, the soul. And here I sense no reflection, only a projection of something that's merely about image. What do you hear of people winning TV talent shows? Nothing. They barely if ever have the actual talent to write amazing songs, they just have the talent of singing a song in a "perfect" way.
She does not have the voice for this song. Should have never attempted it. It isn't just the notes she can't hit, but she doesn't have the power or soul in it.
