Sucheta, you can blame me too. I sheepishly kept quiet, when my poor fellow citizens were deprived of food, water & transportation. My society goons called in the police, when I fed 2 poor guys in my house.

It seems few companies with manufacturing units in india will soon be exiting while the govt is chest thumping about bringing companies from china....infact a very few has commented that china may get more investments...it seems thats what gona happen & we may again miss the bus....sad reality

Hey Moron was there any kits available globally or PPE Kits masks etc. The global hub of manufacturing CHINA had to Import. without lockdown was there any other way this mass pandemic could have been stopped. In a country so vast and varied with so much poverty and assholes like you who instead of taking the realistic account of situation just rant and find faults. There would have been mountains of dead bodies which would have posed another difficulty of disposing them.

Thank you Ma'am for such an invigorating session.
Covid-19 has ripped from top to bottom the entire government structure formed on an illusion of democratic, republic and independent India. As a sovereign nation State we've failed to afford basic amenities to our citizens owing to our (citizens) colonial mindsets. We've not realised that the hitherto subjects became the power-givers under the Indian Constitution, and thus continued to be at the mercy of our political masters.
I'm sure this crisis will SHAKE all of us to the core and bring us to our senses.
I hope people will now ask for good public health infrastructure from their political leadership and not waste this unprecedented crisis as one more aberration.

There is a "swabhav" (characteristic) of the govt that becomes clearer with each and every "sweeping change"
    1.Lack of consultation
    2. Desire for "optics" rather than substance - 56", aatm nirbhar, thali, Diya, blackmoney, one nation one tax
    3. Lack of regard for citizens (no skin in the game so damn them)
    4. Misleading by rearranging - inflation rate, year on year statistics, stimulus package is aggregation of existing schemes repackaged or putting your own money under a label
    5. Creating a narrative around a persona - tears, bear grylls
    6. Misuse of power to enrich businesses
    7. Changing legislation to ensure perpetuation of his party.

A very incisive and thorough analysis of the prevailing situation in our country. Regrettably no corrective action will be take and things will go only from worse to the worst. One thing Ms.Dalal left out was the pathetic manner in which the shramik expresses are "lost" en-route; end up in faraway destinations and the harrowing survival-tales of the migrant-passengers, which adds another sad chapter to the lock down.

Though I agree to many points discussed here, opening or closing of airlines is an independent decision and has no relevance to poor migrants' struggle. Also the air traveller is allowed to travel only for the genuine reason and certainly not for a fun ride. If you want to bring the industry back it its activity, the entrepreneurs will naturally need this facility open.

Really appreciate... We should have courage to speak loudly.... It's really unplanned Act having no plan even after declaration of lockdown... There was no action for more than a month to provide Medical facility support even today it's not sufficient... The facts and figure are unclear and matter of questions.... At the same time you rightly said it's like License Raj again for every movement... There is no security of people and no support for those who are really suffering.... Let's appreciate them who are volunteer, doing good cause to serve needy on the street...

How is IDFC First able to give 7% on savings account without parking the funds in a FD? Is this another YES bank? Please can you cover banks that are now giving higher rates and whether it is safe for depositors. You will save a few lives!

    • @CAPARTH89
      @CAPARTH89 4 роки тому

IDFC first bank is in the hands Mr Vaidyanathan and not some crooks. You may check his professional career of how he managed Capital First Limited. It got merged with IDFC bank to get banking license. The health of IDFC bank was not good. So Its like starting from a scratch.
At present they want to increase the casa ratio so they are drawing more deposits from Public at present. And Bank is shifting business to retail loans from corporate loans as retail loans are less risky and generate more constant revenue streams.
Even Kotak Bank used to give higher interest till now on deposits.
So it's all on how is the management of the bank. Not all high interest paying banks will turn into Yes Banks

For India Lockdown is needed to be enforced because there is dearth of public facilities. We have to buy from corner shops for essentials, where you have to gaunt amidst the bags of rice, lentils, sugars and stretch ourselves to pay the owners. And then usually no toilets at many places like the bus station, the hospital, the markets, the list goes on. It's very common to see desperate people just shoot quickly at some stinking corner and the women let go through the underwear while standing.
And our sarkari adminstration that just panicked or dying to impress. They just emptied the civil hospital and within the minutes with a signage converted the essential institute into a covid19 center. As if opd for accidents and other life saving functions are no more important.

Mumbai's Dharavi has set a sad and sorry record of infection and death. Several plans for redevelopment
were considered but none accepted. Politicians or bureaucrats responsible must be identified and debarred from decision-making. The Syedna's initiative in re-housing the Bohris off Mohamedali Road provides a shining example of planning and execution. We are short of hospitals. We must make it mandatory that all memorials in the city, such as for Shivaji and Thackeray, should be in the form of hospitals. And slums should be banned. Much needed facilities will increase and corruption will decrease.

I follow this lady's advise when she speaks about the government's failure in handling the migrant workers, poor people and also the way private hospitals are looting the common man but one very important point she has missed. When she said that the casualty rate in india due to Covid19 is very less as compared to other countries and so she says Covid19 could have been treated as a mild sickness not requiring a hard lockdown. But one important factor she missed out of the equation is the lockdown itself. The hard lockdown itself is a major reason that India is having a very low casualty rate. We don't know what it would had been if a hard lockdown was not enforced but there are predictive reports saying that the death rate could have gone past 54000 by the end of April.

What would she have done on 24 th of March.
Transport 120 million migrants to their home villages in 5 days.
One train carries 1200 passengers. A bus -60 odd passengers.
1 lakh trains in 5 days. Impossible.
More important how many from where to where?
What happened to the migrants is tragic. But Ms Dalal’s tirade is that of a person who has never run large organisations.
    An armchair critic

In hindsight, your views may be correct. While we all agree that the shutdown could have been more planned and measured, you have totally ignored the circumstances which existed when the decision of lockdown were taken during various stages. In fact, most of us were frightened with the development in certain parts of the world during the first and second phase. It would be good if you can publish a separate video on what you as on organization have done throught the lockdown, rather than throwing dirt everywhere.

its true PM Modi has NO EXIT STRATEGY in any of his so called smart and bold decisions. He follows a concept of "CARELESS DEKHAJAYEGA". For Demo also, PM Modi left it to RBI and Banks to clean the demonetisation mess. Also he even campaigned in London about his surgical strikes on Pak but today also Terrorist are gunning down Indian Jawans in 1: 13 ratio like sitting Ducks as PM has NO CLUE now what to do with Pak's low profile war on India. Also his Neighbour First policy failed with Nepal and soon Maldives going the China and only Bangladesh and SL are still good listeners to PM Modi. This time PM Modi in his habitual manner implemented the lockdown overnight but final with NO EXIT STRATEGY , He has left it to incompetent and scary CMs, and this way PM has taken this chance of him is trying to showcase his federal obedience, and with no exit strategy once again resulting in DEATHS of the POOR like Demo, Like Pulwama and unfortunately now we are heading into a very very long recession period and I hope its not depression.

Bold post, but here we to differ.
If we didn't have lockdown curve would not have been flat and we would've seen death like in Italy which has just 6 crores of population unlike 100 crores of India and would've been grave public issue, but lines would've been same "if we would've given us some lockdown, it could've save life of poor, but our strong PM because of elite industrialist pressure haven't done that, he has succumbed to the pressure of big, and poor are dying of disease because of it"
Completely agree, we should work on healthcare system of India. It sucks really hard, but then I ask questions to myself, we are in democracy not communism here we as citizens to work on system. We should hold government for putting rules and regulations and compliance in-place not for running industries be at any hospitality or healthcare. It sucks and has no business to be in business. It should be us. If rules, regulations, compliances are bad it's them else it us.
