A theme song as only John Williams could create.....its not just the longest running show on television- its the most epic theme song to a news show ever!
My Dad's Sunday Morning tradition is watching Meet The Press , reading his Sunday morning newspaper, and having his morning cup of coffee. When we were growing up, when we heard the Meet The Press Theme Music we knew it was Sunday Morning. Still now if you call him on Sunday Mornings at that time you will hear it in the background. Sometimes he records it. My Dad in his mid 70''s and he has embraced technology like a champ.
When you hear this, you stop whatever you're doing and pay attention. The chimes followed by this theme means something important happened or is about to happen.
The music alone gives me goosebumps but it’s the theme song to a show that’s usually used for news recaps and interviews. Sometimes news breaks during it, but not enough for me to associate this music with it.
RaymondHng Maybe that's what it's called now. But I have the linear notes and track listing from 2000, where it states it's a part of the Mission Theme.
+RaymondHng "The Mission" is the news music package commissioned by NBC and composed by John Williams for use throughout the network. You are correct in saying the composition title is "The Pulse of Events" but the piece is the fourth part of the package.
I fucking hate this song. Let me explain . I was deeply affected by the events of 9/11. So much tragedy in one day, gave me a bit of PTSD, not by the events of that day. But by this song. They played it over and over and over and over. So that everytime they play this song. My head immediately thinks "we're under attack, we're all gonna die!" Stop playing it when kanye releases a new album. Stop playing it when Kim Kardashian says something stupid, stop playing it when a celebrity dies! It's the reason I've serious stopped watching NBC. too many jump scares!
Please don't associate this brilliance with that monstrosity. John Williams is everything Trump isn't-humble, ingenious, creative, humane, compassionate.
Shoulda known John Williams had his hand in this score. Love this song
So do I
Just learned about that 2 minutes ago...awesome!!!
A theme song as only John Williams could create.....its not just the longest running show on television- its the most epic theme song to a news show ever!
i think bill conti could too just sayin hes dead now but ....
Jerry Goldsmith would have done a fantastic job too, he did the Universal theme.
The new Star Wars looks amazing
LOL
?
=D
The March of the Resistance from the Force Awakens absolutely does sound like this.
So does the season one opening of Star Wars Rebels 😂
Heard this on TV and knew it was John Williams. Such a great track. Like a national anthem for a place that could exist.

Thank you. This is the best quality version of this music I've been able to find on UA-cam so far.
And all the info you give along with it is greatly appreciated, too.
Always loved this song since I was a child. Classic! 💖💖
When you hear this, you stop whatever you're doing and pay attention. The chimes followed by this theme means something important happened or is about to happen.
Such a dramatic and under-appreciated work of modern classical music by Maestro Williams!
The news never sounded more badass!!!
this song is most of the reason I watch this show.
Only thing lacking is Tim russerts voice over:
“Our issues this Sunday…”
RIP
I miss Tim Russert. He was this show's best host.
Who is watching this right now!! In 2020 during COVID.
Not I
I love the theme.
Marady Mon I remember seeing somebody doing a special report when Tim russert died?
@@hollypietrzak5214 yes Tom brokaw
Love this intro. Awesome! All inspiring. Brass Spectacular
"You can't mess with kids on Christmas." -oh wait wrong movie
How could you not include a shot of Tim Russert?
One of the great intros ever
What a great theme for the chacos and excitement going on in the United States of America
From NBC News, this is Meet the Press with Tim Russert.
I miss him 😢

It’s also the theme for NBC Special Report
Nope, it ain't.
Oh sh, part of it is.
Anyone get goosebumps thinking there is super breaking news coming when listening to this?
The music alone gives me goosebumps but it’s the theme song to a show that’s usually used for news recaps and interviews. Sometimes news breaks during it, but not enough for me to associate this music with it.
This is why I always watch NBC for breaking news, just for the music.
That’s what it makes you think but in reality it’s just more NPC news

If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press.
Mark Nagle do you remember if it was Brian Williams who announces Tim’s death?
If it isn't Sunday, somebody died.
@@hollypietrzak5214 it was Tom Brokaw
If it’s on a weekday or Saturday, some serious sh*t went down
if it's any other day, prepare for some serious news.
This is also the theme they use for a NBC News Special Report
when the news goes hard
This show doesn't deserve this music.
The pitch is a couple notes too high.
Get the current version and i'll love you forever
Love it 👍
STRONG Star Wars vibes...
That's because it was composaed by the one and only John Williams!
Always figured he wrote this haha
The theme currently is slower and grander than this.
"Our issues this morning....."
With your host, Chuck Todd.
I've loved this music since MTP broke ground. It's AWESOME💕
Sir Chuck Todd fits perfect to present news to the viewers while the theme music is played as a backdrop
MTP became unwatchable after Tim Russert died.
Hey, John Williams made a new Star Wars OST!!
wrong key. it's sped up...
Yeah, this is wrong key and it is spead up.
This theme on a sunday: ok who is meeting the press?
This theme any other day of the week: ok who committed a very dangerous crime this time?
This soundtrack is invigorating! ....😂...makes me want to construct a law or something
Bingo
If adventure has a news theme...
If I want to know what happened, I watch the BBC, the CBC or Deutsche Welle. US network news has become too partisan.
Who else is reminded of Tchaikovsky 6?
Coolest look
Can they copyright you if you use this

This is the theme for _Meet the Press_, but it is not "The Mission".
+RaymondHng Incorrect. This is a part of the "The Mission" scores.

Iconic theme, but the show's credibility has tanked, especially since Chuck Todd has become the anchor.
Meet the war monger corporate press
Exactly, he is a fraud
Chuck's one of the best.
"Meet the Depressed".

Same. This also gives me anxiety and depression.
So dramatic 😮
The last part you here elements of who wants to be a millionaire.
Two different composers. John Williams did "Meet The Press" and Keith Strachan did "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".
@@cowmissing Love a person that knows their composers..😊 What an education... and what instrument do you play.?.
@@damita4336 None. Lol. The 🐮 has a good ear.
Wonderful music, but Chuck Todd isn't worthy to shave Tim Russert's coin purse.
