It still gives me goosebumps listening to this nostalgia but I liked that middle era theme song with Faith Hill and all the background scenery, beginning narrator and AL and Chris reacting to a play from each team. It was classic. I just never really liked it once Carrie Underwood took over.
NBC let Carrie do the song her way instead of having her fruitlessly emulate Faith Hill from '13-'15 and that's what ended up making her version good from '19 onward.
Carrie doesn’t get enough love. Her voice with the song tempo sped up and her charisma, makes every SNF game exciting. I know I look forward to it before every game starts!
2010 was my favorite because of the player backgrounds. There was Larry Fitzgerald in the Arizona desert, Dwight Freeney in the Indiana cornfields, Peyton Manning next to the Indi 500, AD in the Minnesota snow, Eli Manning in NYC. Amazing
Having 2 Colts was ridiculous and over the top Manning pandering, they snubbed the Pats year after year on that intro, SNF was created in 2006 right as the Pats lost the AFC superiority to the Colts it was sickening to see two Colts and no Pats. In the end the only Patriot they ever had on there was Gronk…
