My dad liked night fishing. He favored Jitterbugs, buzz baits, big night crawlers hooked long, and Scumfrogs. That was a good video especially for people who haven't fished much at night. Dad also cat fished at night he'd load up a big ol' treble hook with a big chunk of "tasty" dough bait or 3 or 4 night crawlers and just sit and wait, and then hated it when the little tiny catfish would come around and be so little that the hooks were too big for them and they'd peck at that big chunk or ball of worms until it was almost gone without even making the rod twitch a little.
Keep it simple at night a black and blue spinnerbait with a large black colorado blade....a 10 inch junebug colored worm texas rigged...and a junebug trick worm on a 1/4 ounce shakey head
Yup, definitely don't step on cottonmouths at night. Many times I've seen them look like just another branch or large twig on the open ground. They don't always run away like other snakes immediately do. Fire ant mounds are usually easy to spot at night and feel them collapse under your boots, there's 2 seconds to move if ya step on them. The unseen gators usually rush into the water when being approached. Scary as hell when that unexpected loud splash sounds like a dead body fell out of the sky. 😅 But the biggest threat of all is them damn Florida skeeters if there aren't enough bats around you. Tight lines amigos🎣👍
The jitterbug with a clicker is even better than the original. They are hard to find but totally worth it. They have a loud rattle inside and have a red spot under the bib. I love the 5/8 oz one.

I fish a ton at night, have to say the BEST night lure is the classic jitterbug. Nothing better.

Two other great baits at night are the Scout and a poppin' frog. Loving the Lab videos.
