greetings to you thank you for these vibes of the universe I would like to learn and understand and it is possible to make a video on your live showing us how and which machine sends the echo, delay, reverb? do you work with Logic pro? thank you in advance, I can't sleep anymore I want to dub
This is really good! I hope you don't get any dislikes, but many more views! Your skills are professional, just like your setup, i wish i had money to buy even just part of your equipment.
Anyone know the basic set up for this dub? I’m familiar with the mix tables but what other devices or pedals does he use? And is this all analog? Like how is he playing segments played in each channel without have instruments? Did he record them before? Or record audios from a mic? Like recording of recording?
There's a Roland RE-20 delay/reverb pedal being used.. maybe a rackmount reverb too, I can't remember. This isn't all analog - I'm using a DAW (Ableton) as playback and to record - just bussing audio out then back in for playback / to record.
this is my advice: ua-cam.com/video/dAbxftoM0eI/v-deo.html "You can get it if you really want But you must try, try and try, try and try You'll succeed at last, mmh, yeah Persecution you must fear Win or lose you're about to get your share Got your mind set on a dream You can get it though hard it may seem now" You can find it on some torrents and pages, getting harder day by day due to copyright issues(sucks yes) Or by connecting to likeminded people hoping they are willing to share.(Dub Constructor is not one of those in my experience) I have been searching for more than 5 years, found about 12 songs in multitrack format from marley, and some others rare artists.
Lovely dub!! where do you get these tunes in multi track format? are you using a master tape? would love to get some reggae tracks in this format so i can make some of my own dubs! do you know of anywhere online to get them? thanks.
nice dubbing! the dub sirene sounds awesome - what type is it? have you bougth it or build it? where can i get some of these nice multitracks you use for your mixes - do you know a site where i can download or buy some multitrack recordings? thx
+Peter Lindsberger the dub siren was made by Dubs Alive in San Francisco, CA - www.dubsalive.com/roots-culture/ just found these stems while googling for multitracks a few years ago. unfortunately at this time I don't know of any sites selling multitracks - but hopefully working with some people to change that in the near future. 98% of the time I just have to work directly with the artists, labels, and engineers to get a hold of the original multitracks
how many external effects are you using aside from the re 20? are the all connected on the aux? or insert? are the effects in series? lol sorry that's a lot of questions
tae smellsbad I can't remember for sure how many in this video but usually I have 4 virtual aux busses setup in Ableton - 2 different delay aux busses for different types and times of delays and 2 reverb busses for spring and hall verbs - only thing in series ever is sometimes a kaoss pad after the re20 for delay trail effects. in the studio I'll use inserts for phasers on hi-hats etc but for live setups most of the time just aux bus effects
Oh, very informative, thank you, So If I would only be using an ANalog mixer with multiple external effects, I should also be needing a mixer with multiple aux ins to get the most of everything or is it alright to have the effects in series? If not, Are there 8 channel analog mixers being sold with at least 4 aux ins? And what's the effect at 0:10? haha forgive me if i'm pestering you
tae smellsbad not pestering at all! I'd recommend a board that has at least 2-3 aux busses - some boards with aux busses have dedicated returns so you don't need to use a channel strip to create an effects loop. So if your board does NOT have aux returns and you have 8 channels of tracks playing and 4 aux busses you need 4 more tracks (i.e. a 12 channel mixer). You can run things in series but each effect that runs after another is just going to add effect to the entire chain not individually effect the signal. Honestly for dub with the amount of verb and reverb necessary I think 2 channels of aux busses is the real minimum - here's a video I did about effects loops: ua-cam.com/video/d7xWEomEa8s/v-deo.html

"You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try, try and try
You'll succeed at last, mmh, yeah
Persecution you must fear
Win or lose you're about to get your share
Got your mind set on a dream
You can get it though hard it may seem now"
You can find it on some torrents and pages, getting harder day by day due to copyright issues(sucks yes)
Or by connecting to likeminded people hoping they are willing to share.(Dub Constructor is not one of those in my experience)
