I escaped abuse in January… my brain was so damaged I couldn’t talk. I was like a baby again. The police closed my case because I didn’t make any sense. I was so psychologically messed up. Fought all year to get the case reopened. Learnt to function again. Even though he’s still free - as abuse is hard to prove. I’ve managed to move far away from him. And I have gained my freedom. I didn’t have anyone to help me. 🥺 I found the strength within myself to land on my feet. To forgive him, and myself…. It’s the only way to truly heal. And I hope one day you heal too. The first step is to leave. Always believe in yourself. And give yourself time. Because it does get better. ❤️🩹
