Have I stayed awake into the wee hours of the morn to see this video's release? Yes, and I never worried that it would be anything less than worth it. Great Work, Naught!
Thank you for both your commitment and for writing such a fantastic adventure! 😁 I've been looking forward to releasing this one for a while now as I had a lot of fun voicing this character and assembling all the sound effects! 😄
Knight: "Blast, the cliffs edge, I hadn't thought about the paleontology, this might be the end." Drider: (calmly walking on the walls of the cliff) Knight: "Oh, right. Spiders can walk on walls... I might have embarrassed myself." Drider: It's okay, it's happens. You did a phenomenal job with voicing the knight . The music used in this sounded epic
Let’s see, on this channel, there’s one slime person listener, at least four where you’re a Drider, but I haven’t done any with harpy or horse people listeners. Definitely something I’ll consider!
I just imagine that the drider is acting scary to try and scare away the knight, he swings and they just start crying like a younger sibling that gets bumped by their older sibling- I just think he'd feel so guilty-
At the beginning all I can imagine is the massive drider crawling up from out of the cave, and instead of being big and scary, she just has 8 very teary puppy dog eyes because she's scared and this scary meanie is demanding she leave her home.
@@NaughtPlusZero Just Knight: COME OUT AND FACE ME MONSTER! The "monster": *barely holding back sobs* g-...go away.../╲/\╭( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)╮/\╱\
A spider's respiratory system is almost entirely contained in their abdomen, and they actually breathe through a manifold of air exchange surfaces spread across their stomachs (which is why most spiders don't swim. Most.) As such, in keeping with my theories on tauric monster biology, the human portion of the drider either operates on a mitigated flow of primary breathing oxygen bolstered by a redundant, secondary system to ensure proper flow of oxygen to the brain, or the seemingly human lung and trachea structure is only developed for communication purposes and doesn't actually tie back to the respiratory systems at all, just a specialized form of mimicry. Either way, I always find it humorous in scripts like these that the speaker would show concern for placing a restraint around the human neck; it's at worst a minor hindrance to breathing, and most likely not much more than a nuisance, if anything. And that's before we even factor in what changes with gigantism...
I love this! For mermaids, sirens, harpies, and other such creatures with human-esque features, I like to think of it as an angler fish situation. The human features are to draw in humans. Some do it as a way to appear nonthreatening, others do so to gain mercy and empathy, some use it as bait to get food. And the human portion for all these types of creatures are, traditionally, replacing the head and neck of a creature with the full upper torso of a human. That human part tends towards being unrealistic in how thin it is. Indicating that they either don't have the organs or have much smaller organs. Though, in situations like centaurs, the animal half is also abnormally thin. Which lends more to the idea of smaller organs in both torsos. Like how cows have four stomachs, they probably have multiple organs with the same function for higher efficiency.
I’m guessing the speaker in this one wouldn’t quite understand the distinction, medical science in medieval fantasy worlds being somewhat lacking. 😄 Though, I do like the points you’re making there! They’re something I’ve not considered before. 😊
@@DreamDragoness25 It'd be more akin to a piggy back ride; the respiration happens down at the undercarriage, the stomach. I mentioned this tends to prevent spiders and water from mixing well, but a few species of diving spider have developed combinations of air-trapping furry bristles and weaving techniques to make little web balloons they can stick over their stomach with an air pocket in it so they can work underwater. This nets them access to a multitude of nymphs and larvae of bugs like damselflies, dragonflies, and mosquitoes, and some of the bigger diving spiders will even dare to go after tiny fish like guppies and minnow. That doesn't really have to do with piggybacks or your question, but I do find it quite interesting.
I like to think that driders have two sets of organs(except the brain(…unless?)) for their respective body parts. Human and spider anatomy are quite different and need specific things in order for their body to properly function. Like the lungs for example. The human lungs can focus on giving the human body’s blood oxygen while the spider part can hold the book lung, which would focus on the spider part. The same could be for the hearts too, each one pumping blood through their respective body part. It could also explain why driders are really strong. Having two sets of organs could also make killing driders harder. If someone damages the spider heart, the human heart could go into overdrive and pump blood through the whole body, allowing the drider to have enough energy to escape or something. It’ll cause a lot of strain on the body and weaken you in general, but you’d still be alive.
APD APPROVED Fun fact: Wisdom teeth serve no purpose. They’re left over from hundreds of thousands of years ago. As early humans’ brains grew bigger, it reduced space in the mouth, crowding out this third set of molars. Until we meet again
Lmaooo same!!! I see them like running through the village in a quick, action-packed sequence until they arrive at the cliff. Little dolly zoom somewhere when they approach the edge maybe. Then, some closeups on Sir Naught as he's trying to stay cool before a hard cut to Listener just casually walking down the wall. They're both just like 😶
I love this deep, fancy voice you have for the knight. :D And I love how you portrayed him, as well as how the scriptwriter wrote him. The art for the knight is also great.
Sir Naught! The day brightens when upon your uploads they do appear. As your humble yet definitely noble and incredibly dashing steed (from this moment henceforth until the end of our journey), I thank you for the delight you have set upon mine ears. Aaaand that is all the old timey speak I've got. Naught, you really blew this one outta the water. Audio RP? Maaaan, this is basically a whole audio drama. I just imagined this being a radio show with you at the mic and some person desperately doing foley in the background and that thought just made me cackle. The sound design in this one was especially fantastic. That, coupled with your stellar and hilarious voice acting, effortlessly conjured up a whole mental image throughout the video. The theater of my mind was absolutely packed. This duo has definitely rocketed up to one of my favorites of yours. Pacifist drider and arrogant yet honorable knight scratches an itch in my brain that I didn't know I had. Glad to have you back after last week. Oh I’m so happy! I finally found a roleplay where we’re tall :D It’s funny cause every roleplay has the listener be small, and I’m 6’6 irl 😂 And I’m friendly too! :D
There are a few on the channel like that! In "A Giant Surprise", the listener is a literal giant. 😎 Though, they're more possessive than friendly in that one! 😅
Terrorized the people?! They were the ones who intruded on my home and tried to kill me for supposed treasure. Well, this knight is smarter than he sounded at first. Never been a drider for the "monster listener" role before. I would rather be a nagini/lamia or a cat creature, but the jorogumo are famous for a reason. Although, I wish I could web his mouth shut so he could hear my side of the story; he talks entirely too much.

I trick you, because you wish to kill me! No, please! I promise, I haven't and won't hurt anyone! I'm no Monster! Not too tight! Because, I am not guilty. I do not wish to fight. It was self defense! You know, like how snakes only bite if cornered? I use magic. Am I that bad? If I wanted to, I could have already tied you up in a web.but I didn't. No. It is. I wouldn't have tried to trick you, if I knew you would be merciful. I was afraid you wouldn't hear me out, and just kill me on the spot. If they believe I need to die, at least it will be giving up my life for yours. Hngh! A little tight! Hissss! I'm on it! That's fine. I may not be a fighter, but I am still strong. I feel like these two fit that meme “he asked for no pickles” aww I love big scary monsters that aren’t scary but just big softies
Committing crimes would require me to go outside and interact with people, and as an introvert, I am honestly against that.
Forcing an introvert to step outside should be illegal
