A few days after winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1982, Nicole appears on the Val Doonican show and sings " A Little Peace" "Ein Bisschen Frieden". April 1982
I was twenty when this won when it seemed the world was filled with potential and opportunity for all that could be good in life. Sadly the dream did not live up to the billing but I often listen to this song and imagine that it's message could still be fulfilled.
Opinions vary naturally but mine is that this was the best Eurovision winner ever. This lady has inner and outer beauty and comes across as a pleasant professional. She was 17 then, meaning she's 50 now. What a pity time has to fly but there's no evidence that I'm aware of, that she ever went off the wall, as so many of her fellow entertainers did. Give me Nicole any day of the week, as she was then, or even as she is now. This female is salt of the earth.

Nicole, being a student had special and talented gift in singing. Very excellent voice. I not only like her song but admired and treasured them dearly. A simple young lady is indeed a rising and shining star during that period of time. May grace of God be with her forever.

The UK would never have an artist like Nicole, that's one of the reasons we no longer win the Eurovision. The first they would do is tell her to get rid of her guitar. When Andrew Lloyd Webber took over our song, even he rejected a singer who played the piano only to eventually see a vocalist/violinist win it for Norway.

Was watching the contest live in 1982...I was transfixed and knew this beautiful young lady would win the contest. I still listen to the original version every so often 38 years on.
My father, who was otherwise anything but musical, heard half of the song in 1982 and said with great conviction that the matter was settled, - that song would win. In a Danish TV program in 2013, Nicole was asked what it was like to win back then. She replied that it was of course great to win, but for historical reasons it was even greater that a German girl with a song about peace gets 12 points from Israel. It gave her chills then. I love that song for the simplicity with which hope is delivered.
