I said in the preseason that the Rockets looked like the best team in the west and my friends laughed at me. We might not have a super star but their is strength in numbers, our guard and wing depth is nuts! And I am really happy with the Rockets approach with not trading 3 young guys for a superstar. That's the constant mistake teams make. Instead management is saying lets see how far the young guys can take it before we do anything to the roster.
OK now! His body of work was near the bottom of the league until recently HOWEVER we're starting to see consistent improvement in basically every area and that is the idea. That's really all you can ask for: To keep trying to improve the best you can, which he's doing by taking the benching and critique like a grown man and growing because of it.
When fully healthy the Rockets are insane for such a young team. What hurt them so much last year was not having Tari Eason basically at all. Had he played even half of the season healthy, I suspect that the Rockets would have been the 6th or 7th seed last year and not been a surprise at all. He's just that important of a player for the Rockets as he gives them someone who can actually guard 1-5 while providing insane defense and enough offensive ability to be a very impactful player. With him out again the real surprise is that the Rocket's have been doing OK without him, but that is more indicative of how much the rest of the team has improved and grown over last year. The Rockets don't need to trade for a star. They are building them in house.
Lou is right on about not rocking the boat. Team chemistry is a funny thing. They don't need to trade for a "star" at all, because in their super young core of 7 players, they have literally everything a good team needs and will be locked up for years to come on cheap rookie contracts. Yes top 10 players are vital if you want to be a great team but no one is willing to just trade you one without doing massive damage to your team and it's future. OKC and Houston are now the blueprint, under this new CBA. You of course do smart trades for young pieces to develop but most of the work needs to be done in the draft. Last year no "stars" over 30 were in the final 4 teams standing in last years playoffs, something to also consider. Even if none of the current Rockets' core 7 players end up being a top 10 player, enough of them could be in the top 11-50 (based on how at least 3 of them are progressing currently) and that could be enough to be a contender for the next 2-3 years easily.
Dream trained that Baby Joker. And Jalen’s gettin bigger and bigger since he was a kid. Just like Kobe and Bron were skinny. Reed Sheppards still on the bank waiting behind Fred
What an American POV that it would be bad for the league to see an All Star World Team kick the US All Star team's @$$. It would better grow the league internationally. That's far better than trying to complete against the NFL domestically.
No one in Houston wants AD. Matter fact, most fans do like the idea of trading anyone this season. They’ll likely end up with a top 12 pick in the draft
They are not contenders in the sense that most people don't believe this team to be better than OKC, Boston, or Cleveland. But they do beat everybody else though, so that's not nothing.
I ain’t never seen Lou stumble like that 😂😂
The Rockets are a exciting team this year 😂
That was hilarious

For sure we do have more then a couple young super stars tho especially alpi/amen/jalen
Only watched this because I saw Chandler wasn't there to give backhanded compliments.
Damn, kinda sad that they can’t even spell Alperen’s name right in the time stamps. Clutch City reppin right here… get it right ppl.
Most of the Rockets losses have required a form of collapse too. They have been right there in almost every game. Team is good with room to improve.
That wolves collapse sucked as a fan.
@austina.3677 at least when they fully blow it you can turn it off with a few mins left. Collapses are pain
Key point room to improve this team is winning while having one of the worst offense and no all star on the roster
@@theoperry3236 Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun are a future duo All Stars 🌟
think the only games the rockets have gotten blown out is a thunder game and celtics
They never were flukes. yall were just sleep
I loved it when you played here in Houston, Lou. Good takes though!
Jalen Green is turning the corner! He should be an all star!

Most notably Amen, and JG of late.
To me Tari Eason is their best player.
Don’t get this video wrong. This isn’t our year, but this is our first year as a playoff team be patient don’t break up this roster.
The good thing about Sengun is he competes with Joker and Wemby.
contenders is a stretch and thats my team. but they'll be scary in the future

And Wemby was clapping that he wasn’t going to the Rockets have fun trying to carry the Spurs lol

Crazy that grizzlies , rockets and okc are all young teams but also the best defensively especially in the west.
they don't rely on just one man
Yeep❤

Green the best player on the team
rockets did it AGAIN last night at home vs memphis!!!!
🥺❤
Alpheren ? u cannot be that dump man who is the guy wrıtıng thıs ?
I’ll look at the Rockets as contenders when they land Anthony Davis in a trade from the Lakers to compliment their big man Alpern Sengun.🤷🏽♂️
No one in Houston wants AD. Matter fact, most fans do like the idea of trading anyone this season. They’ll likely end up with a top 12 pick in the draft
Why? AD is always injured and he doesn't fit the Rockets' timeline PERIOD.
The Rockets are not contenders.
Yet.
not yet, but they will become one
Yes they are
Second in the west.. Still room for improvement.. So we good..
