Great day out there. We started way back but went past you about 14km and decided to use you as a guide to not fall back behind. Had a chat to Adam at the start of the 2nd lap, he said he had accidently dropped everyone 😁 you were catching us toward the end but knowing you were coming kept me and mate going and we finished just ahead in 3:39. You spoke to my mate Josh at the end - we were sitting on the ground- but I was on the phone so maybe see you at the next one!
Great effort mate. I remember talking to Josh at the end. It was a great morning and we had a great group. We came through a little quick, but there were a lot of smiles from those runners when they crossed the line. What's on the agenda for you now? You planning anything at the Gold Coast?👍☺
Such an incredible feat to be pacing such a pace at your age. Glad to hear of the enjoyment it brings giving back to others shooting for new goals. Kinda like this channel :D
Thanks Tim. If I can keep hitting the paces comfortably to help other runners, then I'm going to stick at it. It's fun.... even if the balloons sometime annoy the runners behind. Thanks for watching the videos. 👍☺
Great run Neil 🏃♂️ and thanks as always for the video. I was doing personal pacing on Sunday for someone who had never managed to run a marathon before. we had no specific goal, apart from to finish, I got them around in 4:59, and he was very happy. I've paced lots of time at parkruns and half Marathons but never done a full marathon before and really enjoyed it. I loved the new course and really enjoyed running over Storey Bridge 4 times, last time I ran here we were on the pavement and it was dreadful😢. That river walkway and the sections around New Farm were superb and although it was a cold start it was so worth putting up with to see the bright sun shining later on illuminating our beautiful city. I had no problems with my gps watch (Fenix 6pro), it was in perfect sync with all the road distance markings which does not happen at many events 😀
Thanks Alan, it was great to see you out on course. I have to agree, it was a stunning morning and running over the Storey Bridge, right down the middle traffic free, was a highlight. Good to know about the GPS with you and that you had no problems, I have the forerunner 935 and had similar issues at last month's Sydney half. 👍☺
@@runwithwoody I upgraded from a 935 to a Fenix 6 a couple of years ago so I could get a 4 day trail run done without worrying about battery saving. It has better satellite accuracy, I read that the latest Fenix is even better. Maybe a good reason to upgrade 😉
@@AlanBurrellProf Thanks Alan. I will look into the new Fenix. The 935 has a great battery life, I normally get a week between charges, but it's just the hit and miss GPS issues in the built up areas.👍☺
Woohoo! Well done, Neil, especially pot COVID! GC not far away now! Hope to see you then. I’m not a fast runner, but hope to finish before cut off. It’ll be my first marathon.
Have done Brisbane marathon a couple of times. 1st lap is great, but the second is ultra lonely. I got lost the last time i did it. Much prefer gold coast
Brisbane is not as busy, but yes that second lap can get tough, especially if you have overcooked things the first time around. Just the 10k for me this year, but looking forward to it.👍
I take it JD is not the whisky, Alan?🤣🤣🤣Seriously, good luck with the taper. You have put in a good block, so I'm confident you are going to crush it. Appreciate all your support here on the channel. 👍☺
Hey mate, all good. Just had a few things to tend to this week and unfortunately the video has been shuffled down the list. Should be out tomorrow (Saturday). Thanks for checking in, really appreciate it. ☺👍

@@22bseano Cheers mate. Might catch you on the Sunny Coast. I'm also doing that 1/2.👍☺

You are going to do great YKG. Run your own race and you will love it. The GC is such a good one to do first-up. Hope to see you there. 👍☺
Brilliant Neil. excellent job
Thanks Graeme. You getting itchy feet?👍☺

Great content as always Neil 👏
Much appreciated, Ryan. Thanks for watching.👍☺
You are inspiring Neil !! See you in 4 weeks !! Hiro
Cheers Hiro. Looking forward to you smashing the GC. Hope to see you there.👍☺
nice job. I think I will join a pacing group on my next marathon. Looked enjoyable.
It's a lot of fun Greg. The pacers can also be great motivators when things get a little dark towards the end of a marathon. 👍☺
Well done mate. Very cool
Thanks Jonathan. It was a good morning. 👍☺

That's me. Later in life and you defineately inspire me Neil. 12 days to Wellington Marathon. Goal pace 4:37/km because Jack Daniels says I can 😂

@@runwithwoody I'll save the JD for after if successful but more of a beer drinker after a marathon I reckon. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Hey, it’s a bit quiet here. Are you ok?

Are you pacing Melbourne or running your own race??
Hi J. I will be running my own race. Melbourne is a back up for the sub-3 attempt if I don't hit the mark at the Gold Coast.👍☺
