    Working an extra job is extremely satisfying, you're pulling in extra cash while witnessing customers spend theirs, £10/h doesn't seem so bad when you can invest all of it and get the rewards.
    Events companies want temporary staff to work.
    E.g. barman at the races, tea maker at a business conference

      There is no shortage of work in this country Harry, there are more vacancies than there are people unemployed. Anyone of them will make you wealthy

    Hi Perry, I tried to follow in your steps with cab driving but unfortunately the taxi industry has become saturated with drivers (Thanks to Wolverhampton Council) and now im barely making enough to run and pay the car. I have to cut my losses early with the car now and move on..

    • @StupidIsTheNorm

      It’s different everywhere mate.
      Try contacting local some pharmacies. Lots of of cab drivers subsidising their income by delivering prescriptions

      @@StupidIsTheNorm I'll give it a go Perry. Your channel is Gold, keep up the great work! You help people that have to start with nothing, and with no financial literacy. I wish there was a way we could all invest together!?

    Great video Perry! I currently hold a 30k p.a job and I have to think about work constantly even on my off days, no matter I will work through it and get through the suck and achieve my FI at the end of it.

      I’ve had some stellar jobs John, but by far cabbing is the least stressful means of making a decent income. It’s not glamorous, but it works

      If you work 4 nights a week - 48 hrs as an HCA for the NHS you can make 30k.

    All good content as everyone should start a job and work themselves up and just keep working hard and learn from the job
    The only thing that i didn't like is recomending working for Uber.I think it's not good for drivers neither for customers in a long term

    • @StupidIsTheNorm

      Thank you.
      Ultimately taxi driving is knackered except for vulnerable customers as driverless cars will ‘eventually’ replace them.

      PS, Taxi driver I know says he makes £1000 a week "easy" and he can guarantee me that when I get my license. As it happens I'm an HCA working nights for the NHS which is anything but stress free as I'm working with women, but I'm studying law on the OU with the plan to go and teach English in Hong Kong or China where accommodation is thrown in and you can save upwards of £35K a year.

      Word of warning from someone who used to day trade, trading as in day trading isn't a route to wealth as most people fail. Markets are traded by teams of highly talented people who are paid handsomely and have access to the best information.
      The people in the day trading industry are usually selling you a course and making their money that way or they get a commission from the broker if you use their referral link.
      Investing in index trackers is a much safer option

      @StupidIsTheNorm  4 місяці тому +3

      Aye Harry, I always saw day trading as gambling. Also, you only hear about the wins from the day traders, never the losses - just like a gambler

    So when you are young ... you are at work. And when you are rich ... you are too old to enjoy the money you saved. I have a revolutionary idea ... why don't you work out how to earn more than minimum wage?

    • @StupidIsTheNorm
      @StupidIsTheNorm  4 місяці тому

      Fundamentally, it doesn’t matter how much you earn, but how much you invest.
      You can make a million a month but if you spend a million a month you’re still skint.
      The trick is to invest 50% of what you earn for 10 years and retire - regardless of age or income

    • @mrscreamer379
      @mrscreamer379 4 місяці тому +1

      @@StupidIsTheNorm Of course it matters. If my target is a portfolio of £1m and as you say I earned £1m a month, minus my comparatively small living expenses I got there in a month! The thing about earning more is your costs don't need to go up, but you can save multiples of your current saving with just a bit more money. If you earn 3000 a month and save $200 ... earning 3400 means you now save 600 a month. You tripled your savings! You got to your target decades earlier.

    • @StupidIsTheNorm
      @StupidIsTheNorm  4 місяці тому

      @mrscreamer379 I clearly didn’t explain it too well Bob.
      Yes it’s easier to make a million if you’re rich. However did you know that 3 out of 5 premiership footballers who made £30k pm and more, go broke when they leave the game? That’s because they spend all their money.
      I have a minimum wage job, so to generate enough money to invest I have to work a lot of hours. I have no skills or qualifications (so higher paid jobs at age 62 are difficult to find,) but because I am able to work those hours, I can still become wealthy.
      My message is one of hope. If you make minimum wage don’t despair. You can still become wealthy.
