Go by the 10.12.14 Battery Multi meter Guide. If on start your battery falls below 10V your battery may be dead (Start the engine with multi meter and check). If static ( your battery should be showing 12.0+ or - thereabouts 12.10v is ok). when started it should show 12.7 and above (max 14.5) because of the alternator charging the battery and powering the lights, ancillaries etc, air con etc. Just a rule of thumb before you throw a good battery away. Hope this helps.
I’ve disconnected the battery then after connecting thé message disappeared and it worked with my second key. I dont know why but with my first key and new battery it does not work at all. Whereas with my second key and existing battery it works. Battery voltage of the new is above 3v around 3.2v dont know if this is the reason.
I had the same issue and my car battery was almost *brand new* so obviously I didn't change it. So I drove the car on a highway for around 45 minutes then stopped, removed the key then re-insert the key and the message was gone from the display. The error will still be stored in your car's *internal memory* though, BUT that can be deleted with Carly on INPA, etc.
Warp Drive M , did you try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and reconnecting it? I’ve done it before on a 2002 745 and it cleared the low battery light for the fob. Just saying because its a lot cheaper than buying a new battery.
House and Car Hacks channel has a brilliant video covering these issues with a unique solution

Wow! That's great! I've been having the same problem! It's been driving me crazy! Thank you for sharing this!
A good one
My car did the same thing but it wasn't battery. It was the steering lock. Just shift your steering to the left or right and start.
For how long?
@@claudiaserrano7137 Just once or twice.. but all the way to the left and all the way to the right
Great video! My Mercedes has the same issue and problem solved!!!

How long did the new battery last ?
I had the car for 2 years after this video and was ok
I had same problem. Changing the battery. The triangle still pop up. Then I ask the workshop to reset the bmw. And it's gone.....
Did you code or learn your new battery after placing the new battery?
Yes. Every time you change the battery you have to code it
@@WarpDriveM how do you code it?

Hi i bought battery and problem still there door stucked on the lock
Check you fuse in your glove box
Did this solve it for long time or did your message come back
It fixed my problem. But I replaced the battery on my key fob as well
Warp Drive M thanks! Was your key an easy access one or the one that has to be cut open?
Not helpful for my car. I have a 740
You should have tried hooking up the old battery. Disconnecting the car battery can reset codes and might have been the issue.
I've had this error for a few weeks. I've tried all most everything without any progress. This was the only solution in my case
