These guys are truly GREAT here!!! Herb has a fantastic solo voice & Chris has been around since The Byrds!!! Them singing together is just so GREAT here!!! I love this song!! ❤️❤️🥰🥰💕💕🌈🌈
I can't believe that I found this video. I was there in Kumamoto Twenty Years Ago. I still sometimes see Herb and Bill (bass) at local bluegrass festivals in CA. The fiddle player is Jim Buchanan on the video. He came to play with Jim and Jesse. Thank you for upload.
Herb! Wow! And nice trio w/ Chris & Bill Bryson (bass). The great Jimmy Buchanan on fiddle and, yes, Tom on steel (playing a Mullen!) - nice break. They've nailed this Johnny Russell classic with an Osborne Bros arrangement, inc. the ending. Anyway, nice post - thanks.
As Chris Hillman often says, "If you've got vinyl LPs from late 60s and 70s, you've probably got quite a few with Herb Pedersen's name in the credits on the back side of the album covers."

And a 1974 credit on Old Train. Wait a Minute is an awesome one.
Herb should make a bluegrass album as the featured vocalist. He has that genuine "high lonesome" sound.
Perfect!
this is epic stuff!

TOP!!
Any of you fans been arround Bg long enuff to remember these guys and their band "The Flying Burritos
Bros"? Herb played the banjer.
Herb was not in the Flying Burrito Brothers
I've been around long enough to remember The Hillmen with Chris Hillman & Vern Gosdin.
Desert Rose Band.
Must be nice to have a nice high voice like that. Meanwhile I'm down here in the basement with a baritone throat. Is that Tom Brumley on steel?
Yes.
Anyone notice Herb is playing a Yamaha? Red Label 1967 maybe?
I miss Sonny's baritone.
If memory serves me this song was first recorded by Kitty Wells.
No you're thinking of "making believe".
Yeah that's Tom Brumley for sure. Softest steel player who ever played country. But Dessert Road had Jay Dee Maness normally I think
Jay Dee was the original steel player in Desert Rose Band but Tom Brumley took his place towards the end of their run
Who is singing flat?
that'll be me ;)
Lester?
I believes Ms Dolly Parton penned this.
Johnny Russell wrote this song.
Dolly & Porter recorded it as a duet!!!
Pedersen.
