The trees full of new leaves Offering green tears to the earth To be picked and split The tell of green of what's fair and unfair Between the twigs, cassette tape drapes His silent songs let melody loose in layers of heartache. A tear drops from my eye... What a gift this album is! After the violent solar eclipse in Aries, I couldn't get out of bed, as if a block had tied me to it. I got up to turn on the computer and I come across this beauty. I'm from Argentina. I've always been a big fan of Broadcast; it's a blessing, it helps and contributes.

for the past several septembers james has been giving us little peaks into trish's past with posts on his blog that usually include a demo. this is a gift, like getting 36 septembers all at once; its hard to take it all in immediately but "sleeping bed" "a little light" "running back to me" and "march of the fleas" are all new favorites and i'm sure more will follow with more listens. this is a palimpsest of differing tones and ideas that are yes, a blanket for me as something that reminds me of a better time; that time being when she was alive. i had friends, i had talking, i had something to look forward to. missing broadcast when they came thru here i could've said "i'll see them next time" but you have to do things while you can. thank you james for sharing your partner's last will through sound. i took a long walk to hear it all @ once and sure enough track 1 sounds like she was taking a walk as well, so that hit pretty hard. 🎹💜
I remember when "The Song Before" came out on James' Future Crayon blog a mere eight and a half months after Trish passed, we on the Broadcast forum were besotted with it. Year after year, James would send out more and more of Trish's demos, to our delight - they often made news on internet music sites. Sadly the Broadcast forum closed down, but the fans are still here James, and more "frumious numerous" (to misquote a Focus Group song) than ever. We're so glad that you did this, it's utterly lovely. Three dozen demos that would've been distilled into a magnificent album. She has a hell of a legacy, more now than ever. I truly wish you all the very best for the future James, if you read this.
This is the sweetest kiss goodbye we could have possibly asked for, and again completely reassures me that Trish was one of the most utterly brilliant minds and voices in the history of music. My heart goes out to you, James. Thank you so, so much for adding this capstone to her legacy. She deserves it, and you've done her well ❤
More ideas and inspiration in one album than most bands achieve in 20 .... Perfection and I'm beginning to think being unpolished Demos actually makes it better.
@@flor_inversa yes!! I am mostly into their two most recent releases, and I haven't met many broadcast fans who are like me in that way. "ghostly folk miniatures" is such an articulate way of describing them! 🩶
I wonder if Trish Keenan was familiar with William Blake's painting 'The Ghost of a Flea' (and the story behind it), as March of the Fleas matches that picture's peculiarity.
Major thanks to James Cargill for bringing this to completion, must have been challenging at times x

It's music that came back down from heaven and it makes me happy but sad
I'm still so sad...i miss Trish and one of my favourite Bands 😢
She really lived her best life, and did her best work
likewise brother ...
Many thanks to James's corporeal being and Trish's ethereal spirit.

The rare works shine even in the dark. This moment is what we have, bask in it.
This is a fantastic gift from the past. At the same time it makes me feel really sad that I am enjoying it so much being releas d posthumously.

Not heard something as creative as this since Tricky's Nearly God! Wonderful.
Thanks, A.K!

My ex turned me on to Broadcast yesterday & I absolutely love this band!
One of these tracks sounds like 'Hex' by Lorn and I kinda love that.
Good band/duo 🙂

Even though I produce ambient music, I find this project interesting and engaging!
