As a finn, I'm really pleased, that he spoke so well, so professionally and slightly emotionally and you could clearly sense, that he was very pleased, that finally his work has started to be recognized and appreciated. I've never ever heard him speaking like this, he was very energetic and confident, full of life. A very well deserved reward.
Dirty Deed and in spite all this he still stayed the Iceman... Never going all jumping with joy, never speaking more than he feels he needs to... But the always composed Kimi we knew... And calling the trophy "this... Thing" was just something that showed that he still does things in his own way, even on formal occasions :)

I'm sure he would if he wanted to. In Hungary (2017) just recently on the podium he was asked to say a few words in Finnish to his fans, and he chose not to.

Luulenpa että tuo Räikkösen kuuluisa lausahdus on eräänlainen variaatio suomenkielen sanasta "No", jolla puhekielissä aika usein aloitetaan lause ja jota käytetään taktisiin taukoihin sanojen välissä. Usein Räikköjen sanoo lähinnä jotain tähän suuntaan: "mooh...", joka on melkein identtinen yleisen "nooh..." lausahduksen kanssa suomenkielessä. Itseasiassa Kimi aloittaa juuri tässä videossa pitämänsä puheen sanalla: "Noh...".

Cheers from 🇮🇪 👍🍺
Hes basically saying that hes done things his own way for most of his career, with both ups and downs, but that was the most important thing to him, and he was suggesting others do the same for maximum enjoyment.
It will be a sad day when Kimi retires from F1 there may be more successful drivers who win more races or more championships but the Iceman will always be a legend
he did like 15 bicep curls with that thing xD
The Captain lmao!
😂
And that trophy looks like a dumbell
I’m pretty sure that’s what he’s going to use it for
exactly what i was thinking
he is doing weightlifting with that trophy XD
"Okay Kimi, you will have the trophy"
"For what?!"
Just funny 🤣🤣🤣

As a Turk, i have huge respect for him. Formula 1 fans in Turkey, love him so much. A true legend.
So true. I'm an Indian (dots not feathers) and a huge fan of the Finnish drivers. The Finns are on a different tangent altogether!
Kimi is such a gentlemen, one of the last F1 Gentlemens.
Kiitos Kimi for EVERYTHING (F1, Rally, Charity, etc etc), Kiitos.
They should let him speak in Finnish in F1. He seems to be very relaxed and more expressing in his home language than speaking English :/
I'm sure he would if he wanted to. In Hungary (2017) just recently on the podium he was asked to say a few words in Finnish to his fans, and he chose not to.
English kimmi is much funnier
Now that you say it. Why they hell they suspended press conferences?

How respectable are all these people, standing during a person's speech on the stage. Respect.
Definitely the coolest person in F1 if not all of sport.
I'm Estonian and even I understand half of all things that he says. Amazing.
I just turned off the subtitles, closed my eyes and experienced how it feels to have a stroke.
0:32 Kovalainen was also there =)
He speaks so confidently in his home tongue!
The King speaks! Please provide some English subtitles.

Congratulations Kimi! Great man.
i love when he looks at the trophy almost 1000 times.
Inspiring words. This could be my new life advice - 'doing thing your own ways might turn into good outcomes'
They used double to do the talking. Rumor has it it took 5 months before they could get this much out of Kimi so they could teach the double.
Erittäin karismaattinen kaveri, helposti Suomen suurin ylpeydenaihe.

Lionel Chen Bwoah, it was a formal thing, so every sound person would understand that no Bwoah allowed :)
Richard Urbanec So sad. But he is still my fav!
Lionel Chen You can't really bwoah or mwoah in finnish

He seems a bit more confident when speaking his native Finnish.
Hes basically saying that hes done things his own way for most of his career, with both ups and downs, but that was the most important thing to him, and he was suggesting others do the same for maximum enjoyment.
Kimi for President!!
Always the best
It will be a sad day when Kimi retires from F1 there may be more successful drivers who win more races or more championships but the Iceman will always be a legend
He will finish and return to McLaren in 2021.
I know it's a meme and all that but Kimi is legit President material. That's a statesman speaking right there.
I was so looking forward to him saying: "Bwoah ...thank you". And Kimi somehow chatted.
Hope you also receive the WDC trophy for getting your 2nd WDC this year, Kimi. All the very best ICEMAN!!
Damn
The most I've heard Kimi speak!
That is the least Kimi thing I have ever seen... What a speech
And still the reigning Ferrari World Champion
Simply finnish👍 long live Kimi!

He’s received an award? FOR WHAT?!
For being the most chatty guy in Finland?
You haven't met or heard Matti Kyllönen the F1 commentator.
The only time where he wasnt pissed and said more then one word
Legendary!!!
Correction to title "kimi raikonnen receives an award sober"
This is the longest speech of Kimi Raikkonen
Not too much preparation but still pretty confident speech.

Damn he lets himself time when he speaks... xD Is it normal to make so long breaks between words in Finland? or is it just him speaking like that.
It is quite normal
You don't get a lifetime award every day. But yes, Finnish is a lot slower language than Italian or French.
how many "ta" has the finish language
