Miyazaki really said “I know you guys are all gonna see this anyway”
He is right.
Exactly!
Amen to that!
In that way it's the most modern marketing campaign he's ever attempted. It can only work because the internet exists.
fr
Yuji Naka was just the engine programmer on the Genesis trilogy. The actual creation and design of the character was Naoto Oshima, while the gameplay & levels were designed by future luminary Hirokazu Yasuhara (hence the "team" in Sonic Team.) Oshima has just recently marked his return to the franchise for 'Sonic Superstars', with his crew at Arzest (sp?) handling things in lieu of the 'Sonic Mania' team not returning.
Naka has had no involvement with Sonic since he left Sega in 2006. The overall series director who's been there since 1993 and has helmed pretty much every main title since 1998 has been a man by the name of Takashi Iizuka. Not a perfect analogy, but think of him as the Yoshio Sakamoto to the original trio's Gunpei Yokoi.
In Miyazaki we trust! With or with out trailer he knows we are going to watch it anyways, I really hope that the movie becomes available to watch it in theaters in my country 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Some of Miyazaki's trailers are better than most animator's actual films.
I can tell you thoroughly enjoyed the "thats no good!" line, lmao
07:52 - 08:05 --> Dude, I'm proud of you too! XD I would not have managed in a thousand years.
Miyazaki's next film is based on a novel, so we have a good idea of what the plot will be.
Durarara!! 4:17
season 2.2 yay. At least the entire tile fits entirely on a DVD box.
It's been public and generally already pretty well known that Miyazaki has been working on How Do You Live for a while now. I'm super down for him bypassing the commercialism and letting us just go into the film truly blind~
The title “How do you Live?” reminds me of the Kurosawa classic film Ikiru (“To Live”), which is an adaptation of Tolstoy’s “The Death of Ivan Ilyich.” Part of me wonders if this is Miyazaki’s attempt at cementing his cinematic legacy with a magnum opus musing on similar philosophical themes about living and the meaning thereof
It’s been known that his next project was based on the book of the same title, but it’s been in limbo forever. I will say, I read the book when I was on a wholesome kick, and I’m curious to see what Miyazaki did with it cause it’s not fantasy at all, but it has hints of imagination, so I’ll be there day one in the US release…if we get one.
Maybe we’ll finally get the brooding Miyazaki movie that you would assume he would make based on his general demeanor and public persona
Miyazaki's latest film was announced years ago, It just wasn't publicized widely.
Spirited Away is my favourite Ghibli film 🙂
In other news, Netflix got tardy on providing Chinese and English subtitles for this week's eighth episode of "Oshi no Ko". It took two days. TWO FREAKING DAYS for those subtitles to be added on the streaming service. 🤦
Even Dr. Stone S3 latest episode faced this
@@shyguy5473 I haven't seen Dr Stone so I didn't notice. There was a time when English subtitles weren't even added to the Netflix release of Chainsaw Man and when it did, it wasn't even in English.
I kinda feel like anime OP spoil as well
so true about miyazaki will work till he drops
I mean the new Miyazaki film is clearly a semi autobiographic film like The Wind Rises because the name of it, and the art style similarities to Wind Rises. And based on the name it'll be closer to him as a person and less symbolic like Wind Rises was. Also likewise will most likely have a slower pace. So what does a trailer or major marketing accomplish?
The Wind Rises is one of my favorite films he’s made. I hope the new one is in a similar vein
You are wrong. It is confirmed to be a fantasy, and is only similarity to the book is the title.
@@seyyednaqvi6760 I could be, I'm not following it's news. But I also don't count my chickens before the film airs.
Wait, you don't like Spirited Away? Why though? I'm not trying to say you need to like it or anything; I'm genuinely curious. I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't like it and I'd like to hear your reasons.
First trailer that I remember truly hating was "Air Force One" when they showed the F-15 taking a missile for titular plane. Heroic sacrifice is a favorite of mine and it lost something seeing not during the film first.
I watched "Suzume" on a whim without knowing anything about it beforehand. I knew it was a Makoto Shinkai film so I figured it would be good, and lo and behold, it was a good. I have a feeling this new Miyazaki film will do just fine.
I was a bit frustrated with the trailer for Suzume, I considered it a big spoiler. Ironically the first 13 or 14 minutes that was doing the rounds on the internet spoiled it less _and_ got me more excited for its release!
This video: Punctuation is hard.
Me, looking at its (current) thumbnail: So is spelling, apparently.
At least the punctuation is correct I guess! 😂
Marketing costs are ridiculously high and considering that Anime movies traditionally make less, having no marketing will make Ghibli's profit margin better.
Oh! A new patreon name
What doesn't he like about spirited away?
Can we just appreciate how normal this crime was compared some of the horrifying instances of cp coming from other creators. Like I'm not trying diminish the serverity of insider trading, i it almost feels like 'a breadth of fresh air' oddly enough
Wait How Do You Live is coming out next month? How long do you think until it gets to the west?
The punctuation marks are a thing in a lot of second seasons of anime right? It off my mind I can think of
New Game! and New Game!!
Is the Order a Rabbit? and Is the Order a Rabbit??
Kaguya-Sama: Love is War and Kaguya-Sama: Love is War?
Edit: Damn even the second season of Yuru Yuri is called Yuru Yuri♪♪. How I'm supposed to pronounce the ♪ symbols?!
K-On!!
@@jasonschubert6828 true
Quintessential Quintuplets went ∬ for season two. Which I believe is a double integral, so ain't that a mouthful.
They really messed up not titling New Game!'s second season 'New Game+'
So you don't watch Hollywood trailers. When do you arrive to the movie theater to see a movie? Do you wait outside the theater until the trailers finish? Do you close your eyes and plug your ears when you're siting at you seat awaiting for the trailers to finish?
Google
I feel like insider trading at the company you work at should be legal. Maybe not at companies you don't work at, or maybe companies you work with, but It doesn't make sense for it to be illegal. It's knowledge that could set you up for life, and makes investing in the company you work for kind of scary, knowing the government can just, arrest you for it if it thinks you know something the public doesn't
Can we keep Yuji Naka in jail, for the atrocity that was Balan Wonderworld?
Great 👍🏻 video nice 👍🏻 hype!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess Miyazaki is aiming the movie at the "underground hipster connoisseur" crowd, lol.
Yes it could be revered or criticized ofr Miyazaki
You are so brave for that spirited away comment
It's still in my backlog. I don't have a horse in this race. I just know thats bold
The 'Devil is a Part-Timer' season 2 was not as good as season 1. I hope that season 3 doesn't continue that trend and is worse than season 2.
You somehow convinced me to respect your opinion of hating Spirited Away. I just found this channel and I think I like it.
glad there is going to be no trailers
Movie, trailers and light novel titles must tell you everything about the product before you watch it because if they didn’t, you won’t know what you’re watching!!! But being serious, I really do feel that movie trailers and a lot of light novel and anime titles could tell a bit less and that would be fine.
Okay.
Yuji Naka gets thrown in jail, meanwhile Naoto Ohshima returns to the Sonic franchise to create a new character for the new upcoming game, Sonic Superstars, a new Sonic game which will surely destroy friendships because of the 4 player co-op
I’ve been avoiding trailers for movies I’m interested in too (newest Spiderverse, Jurassic World, etc) the trailers ruin everything! 😣
5:16 Monogatari Series: Finally! A Worthy Opponent! Our Battle Will Be Legendary
It’s impressive that Xebec jumped straight into Keijo!!!!!!!! without adapting seasons 1-7 first.
Negima, Negima!, Negima!! and Negima!? would like to have a word with the part-time devil
is it me or are the same Patreons always called out every time Patreons are highlighted ...
You can't outrun the IRS forever.
Well, Sonic might, but Yuji Naka clearly can't.
when u going on trash taste?
The Devil Is A Part Timer is the confusing mess for sure.
Reminds me of Working!, Working!!, Working!!!, and WWWorking!
Shows You can slap Miyazakis name on a hentai and it would sell like crazy
Now I need to know your reasons why Spirited away is your least favorite movie
K-on! vs K-on!!
Galahad
You can cheat in the stock market you just need to be a part of the club 😂
I am not going to watch another season of The Devil is a part-timer. The second season of that was boring enough.
Massive disappointment after waiting years for a sequel season. Then again if it was that bad in some manga beforehand, then I dunno, guess I didnt care enough to check.
Same with Shield Hero
A fellow spirited away hater!! XD
I dont know about my favourite Myazaki films but i wanted to walk outvof the shit show that was The Boy and the Heron.
Even my non-anime friends know there is a new Miyazaki movie coming out, in fact sometimes _they_ are telling _me_ information about it, including this no trailers news.
I am not sure why you have regressed to incorrectly pronouncing Ghibli with a hard "g" sound either. That would refer to the fictional studio used in the Ghiblies shorts, hence the guy changing the name from ジブリ (Jiburi) to ギブリ (Giburi) at the beginning of Ghiblies: Episode 2.
For some reason The Devil is a part-timer season 2 was not good. I can watch something with average art style and animation but the story moved at a snail's pace and was quite forgettable. It's kind of a shame since the 1st season is a classic
This man gets it! He and I are apparently perfectly aligned when it comes to Spirited Away.
The Wind Rises is a bad film that I regret buying. Spirited Away is one of my favorite films, anime or otherwise. I'm pretty sure Tristan and I need to fight to the death now.
I guess I’m the worst Ghibli fan ever. Having not gone to see anything after The Wind Rises release. But I did go because the trailer drew me to it.
Why would you want to watch a Hollywood movie nowadays?
Because there's good movies out there.
It’s been known for years that Miyazaki was working on his “final” film to teach his grandchildren how to live. You just didn’t have the motivation to keep up with Miyazaki.
First
The more time goes by, the more convinced I am that the Japanese anime industry should stop with the "Season" nomenclature and just use "Cour".
Yuji Naka hasn't made a good Sonic game in over 2 decades. If Yuji made a Sonic game during that time instead of prison, it's just another 2 years of not having a good Sonic game. Why bother?
In regards to the weird The Devil Is a Part-Timer title someone get me a Davy Crockett I'm not saying I want to nuke Japan again but this particular manga-ka's house that s*** can get vaporized.
Is there a fucking fan, does anyone else hear that low pitched whine going back and forth across their ears from this video after 6:12 and before 7:40.. Butter on cactus spines that wasn't pleasant
so glad yuji naka is going to jail, that guy makes horrible games
Studio ghibli and Miyazaki are overrated they only got recognition after they partied up with Disney now they don't have that anymore
This must be in the top ten dumbest takes of all time.
Imagine saying something this stupid with a straight face.
