This vintate footgae includes an interview with the Cromarty-family who bought the house about a year after the killings took place. And it gives an intersting inside-look.
I take my hat off to that young chick who' was best friends with Allison Defeo, I couldn't imagine how she felt doing this little clip knowing her best friend was shot to death in this house. That took some guts to do that.
The "red room" at 6:38 looks creepy. She can shrug her shoulders and insist they just kept toys there, but that little room with peeling paint is sketchy af.
She was letting everyone know nothing wrong with the house or this red room it was her friend who was killed in the house by coke head Butch Defeo. But it show she was not in fear at all because nothing to fear in the house at all
Father mancuso, Father Delaney, Father pecorotto, Lutz Commaratie Defeo Commarato The amount of Italian names linked to this house is immense, why is there atleast 3 fathers names mentioned referring to the so called blessing!?
I remember watching this show (That's Incredible) on Halloween talking about the Amityville Horro and other ghost stories when I was a kid. I loved it. :)
I wouldnt want to live in a house where something that horrific happened. I mean the thought of that man going from room to room shooting his entire family is just terrible
I also read where George admitted that the book and movie were exaggerated, but that in fact things did happen in the home. George's step-son Christopher even recalls things happening that he couldn't explain....There are a few interviews here on UA-cam with Christopher. And how many homes do you know of that get pulled down because of their haunted pasts????? If that were the case, then the Myrtles Plantation, and numerous others would not be standing today.
Who the hell moves into a home that has a reputation of being “Haunted” and is widely publicized in the media, and then has the nerve to complain about people coming to their home and. bothering them? You’re asking for attention.
The Lutz's never admitted anything of the sort. Bot were given numerous deception tests and passed them all with flying colors. What the Lutz's did say was that Jay Anson exaggerated quite a bit in his Amityville Horror Book.
George admitted that things did not happen on the scale the movie and book claimed. However, if he admitted that every bit of it was phoney, then could you please send me a link or something to this claim so that I might read it?
@Pauline Blundell George Lutz did indeed say that the book and movie had some embellishments. Neither George nor Kathy Lutz never admitted to anything being faked and they stuck to their stories to their graves.
listen,we can all speculate about what really happened that night. But the reality of it is,theres only one person alive that knows the truth and he changed his story so many times,we will never know the complete truth
They try to debunk a movie or a book.A work of fiction (clearly). That, what happened in the movie was from Hollywood,to get people,to watch it.Doesn't mean it happened so in real life. What the Lutz family went through in the 28 days can not be told in a book or a film. The feelings, and stuff can not be held on a page.
It's been many years and the Charade goes on. If the Lutz' didn't believe it was true why did they leave? I do think they freaked themselves out. And like someone else said, the book exaggerated it.
Theres a paranormal team i hate on yoube called THE G TEAM...Shes s [ fake,lk the watrens,i used to love Ed &Lorrain....Now trying to mk a comback w/the conjuring ..either wait t&eir FAKE.....THANKS FOR THIS PIST,I PIST IT EVERYWHERE BUT PEOPLE WANNA BELIEVE I/,TELL EM A PLACE IS HAUNTED EVEN IF NOT THEY LL STILL HV EXPERIENCES lmao
In the book there was a lot of fiction, however, the events of which the emphasis of things being broken and/ torn from hinges.. etc... ect.. as was indeed portrayed in the film? What has not been noted, is that in the film, although doors and banisters did get broken? It was all created by the hauntings with the intended affects of being real, but actually where not real - the demons where tricking the minds of the Lutzs? Also, the weather was, illusionary as well? Demons can create an environment that is not real - they play with the mind - especially if people are more sensitive to demonic activity? These new owners obviously are not? Just because they haven't experienced any hauntings - doesn't mean the Lutzs didnt? Besides, the house was exercised shortly after the luzt family left? Aymitiville House was haunted - it was not a hoax. No way!
I think if i'd buy that house, i'd turn back into it's original way in 1974, quarter moon windows, dark brown shingles, lattice on the exterior of the sunroom. Then it'll become a museum with adequate security. Spooky haunted house for Halloween.
I would just put one of those big fences they have in front of mansions not just because tourists also for privacy the house are close together as well they should have done that before moving out!
Would I live in that house? No. I couldn’t bring myself to stay in a place one night where a crime such as the Defeo murders took place. I could not and would not.
I’m sorry, but the Cromarty’s are just fools in my opinion. Anyone that would move into the house that was: a)the scene of a mass murder, b) the scene of probably the most famous haunting in America, and c) the focal point of both a best selling book and Hollywood film - would just be complete fools to NOT assume that there is going to be people coming by the house all the time.... Honestly, if they thought for even one moment that they were simply going to move into that house and live peacefully ever after, then they really were a new level of stupid. Furthermore, starting at the 4:00 mark, the Cromarty’s start to debunk and dispute claims made by the book and the movie. Do they actually think any of this is disproving the Lutz’s claims of the home being haunted?! If the book has discrepancies, then Jay Anson is to blame, as HE wrote the book, and likely embellished quite a bit to sell more copies. And OBVIOUSLY the movie is going to be heavily embellished; when has anyone ever seen a movie that was based on a true story that was 100% accurate!? C’mon! It’s just absolutely silly! Also, the Lutz’s have done NUMEROUS interviews stating that the movie and book got many things wrong, but it was not in their control to ensure that everything was 100% accurate. I believe that they even had a few law suits against the makers of the movies and possibly even Anson as well. So I really don’t think the Cromarty’s have a leg to stand on in this argument. All they did was prove that the book and movie had been embellished, that’s it.
I read an article in Time magazine years ago, where George Lutz admitted that the concept was decided "over several glasses of wine". The book came out, advertised itself as a true story. If someone wrote a book about your 'true' experiences, then why would you allow someone to exaggerate? Money. I believe the Lutzes used a true murder based on the history of their home and ran with it. If the house was that bad it would have been pulled down by now and no one could have lived there.
Amoriah Thank you guts!! The kutzes son still ckaims it was haunted,The Warrens were oroved fraud, the people that bought it not even 2 yrs ago are so sick of jackasses coming around they already hv it on the marjet,I DONT BLAME THEM!
There are no ghosts in this house .. I know someone who’s family re done the home and it’s so beautiful!!!! Looks nothing like it used too !! This house is not haunted and never was! Ronnie killed his family so he could get all the life insurance and his sister dawn helped that’s why there was gun powder on her nails and hands ! This house is beautiful and not haunted and never was the lutz just wanted to gain money and drama just too get rich !
there has been tons of old houses like that that are unlivable simply due to black mold ,, they are painted over so you cant see until temp changes if it sits empty and later on yeah that black and green mold will be creepn eventually .
The house is big and boxy, typical for Long Island in the 70's and prior.. You can get way more for your money nowadays. I'd pay 450 thousand tops for it.
roisindubh02 You must work for a real estate company. The house is almost 100 years old. Basically you would have to rebuild it before you could sell it for that much.
Their son died of a heart attack. I don't think it was in the house. I haven't read that any where. Yes, he looks like Mr. DeFeo sr. But I don't think she looks like Louise, at all.
why do i feel like its all staged , an theres is sumthin strange about that house than again there might be more than meets eye with wat happened that night....
Why are these people doing this interview everybody looking for their 15 minutes of fame. They knew what was going to happen when they bought the house.
NONE OF THE FAMILY'S THAT HAVE LIVED IN THE HOUSE SINCE GEORGE AND KATHY LUTZ' AND THEIR CHILDREN LIVED THERE SAY THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEM,S. WITH THE HOUSE LIKE THE LUTZ'S DID.ONLY PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN PEOPLE KNOCKING ON THEIR DOOR AT ALL HOUR'S OF THE NIGHT AND PEOPLE PEEPING IN THE WINDOWS'. IT'S HARD TELLING WHAT THEY HAVE SEEN OR HEARD IN THE HOUSE.IF THEY TOLD THE PUBLIC THAT THEY HAVE SEEN GHOST'S IN THE HOUSE THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE ANY' PRIVACY' AT ALL
I believe that house is haunted why because a massacre took place there a whole family got brutally murdered so when that happens guess what the house 🏡 is very haunted I lived in a house 🏡 like amityville in mansfield ohio and the same thing happened there the dad killed his family and it was hell living in the house 🏡.
Bunch of crap. So this next buyer had family that owned the house prior and had visited. Yet people put the Lutz's down. Wtf. This next momo owner (who knew the house prior to the Defeos), how do we know he wasnt trying to use that as a money making scheme? Like all the Lutz's disbelievers. Dude that bought it definitely had ulterior motives
The Defeos my have brought something to this house after their murders. Why don't we bring that long island medium Theresa Caputo there and let her work shit out with one of them ghost boxes
I take my hat off to that young chick who' was best friends with Allison Defeo, I couldn't imagine how she felt doing this little clip knowing her best friend was shot to death in this house. That took some guts to do that.
MrDeeky74 I know !! what was her name?
Sounded like she had the same last name as the police chief interviewed in this show: Comarotto?
The "red room" at 6:38 looks creepy. She can shrug her shoulders and insist they just kept toys there, but that little room with peeling paint is sketchy af.
She was letting everyone know nothing wrong with the house or this red room it was her friend who was killed in the house by coke head Butch Defeo. But it show she was not in fear at all because nothing to fear in the house at all
Father mancuso,
Father Delaney,
Father pecorotto,
Lutz
Commaratie
Defeo
Commarato
The amount of Italian names linked to this house is immense, why is there atleast 3 fathers names mentioned referring to the so called blessing!?
I seem to become obsessed with this
It's the Amityville spell . . .
Lol! SAME! The more I see about it the deeper I dive into the tale
I agree, that murder really became the inevitable for the town. It was so horrible.
This interview is from around 1979-1980...not 1974 like in the title. The Defeo family lived there from 1965 till they were murdered in November 1974.
the book is all lies
This was from "That's Incredible" in 1980.

I think the real horror was John Davidson's hair.
...lol... omg!!... too funny & soooooooo true!!... 😄🤣😂😁
The Lutz's never admitted anything of the sort. Bot were given numerous deception tests and passed them all with flying colors. What the Lutz's did say was that Jay Anson exaggerated quite a bit in his Amityville Horror Book.
Lie detectors are notoriously unreliable. That doesn't convince me at all.
Mr. Cromarty looks like Mr. Defeo.
yes he doe I think he died in the house not because of Demon or flying pigs old age He played in the house when he was a kids
George admitted that things did not happen on the scale the movie and book claimed. However, if he admitted that every bit of it was phoney, then could you please send me a link or something to this claim so that I might read it?
@Pauline Blundell George Lutz did indeed say that the book and movie had some embellishments. Neither George nor Kathy Lutz never admitted to anything being faked and they stuck to their stories to their graves.
see if you can find anything from good morning america or other interviews the Lutzs did. I guarantee there is something there. Happy hunting.
A skeptical story on Amityville for once. You didn't see that very often back then, as I remember. But I was a kid.
THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD ROBERT STACK NARRATE THIS. STACK WOULD HAVE MADE THIS EVEN MORE SCARY.
Yess, his voice gives me chills haha.
That staircase is amazing!
listen,we can all speculate about what really happened that night. But the reality of it is,theres only one person alive that knows the truth and he changed his story so many times,we will never know the complete truth
where's the music coming from!

Why did this family move then? Maybe the spirits didn't like the Lutzs🤨
Everybody should have seen this who believe in Amityville.

On a different note Cathy Lee Crosby was hot

I wonder what the singing is ?
Hell nah I would never live thr so scary
Me either Wendy.
OMG! That guy looks just like Ronald DeFeo Sr.!
Lol... everyone that has stepped in the house as part owner are have some type of a similarity to the defeo family

@Pauline Blundell Dan got money for that claim too. Besides even the writer of the book claims it is fiction.
i have hear their oldest son died of drug over dose in house?
dawnpalmer1965 Yes he did. In Ronald Defeo JR’s old bedroom.
@@screamingtima1318 The Defeos had a son older than Ron Jr?
@dawnpalmer1965 yes Barbara cromarty's son died of a drug overdose in his bedroom
